She woke up alone, her hand traced the now empty space Matteo had been
on the bed.
The sheets were still feeling a bit damp due to their transition from the bathroom to the bed the previous night. Her body began to heat up at the memories of it all. But waking up alone, it stung.
Not that she wanted him anywhere near her. One very explosive night would not change her hatred for him.
Infact, it only worsened. It made her hate herself, the same man she thought magical last night killed Raquel. The tongue he used to fill her insides threatened Lori's life.
She hated herself for yearning.
She heard the pool splash, got out of bed and tiptoed to peep from behind the door. Matteo, emerging from the pool, completely naked, had her gulping down nothing. She wanted him, again.
Matteo started towards the bedroom. She ran back to the bed, tucked herself in and feigned to be asleep.
From the corners of her eyes she watched him get dressed in casual shorts and a T-shirt.
