Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: The Final Spotlight

The massive screens above the open-air venue flickered to life, each one showing a nominee's face in crisp detail. The crowd fell silent, the music paused, as if the entire city of Abuja had collectively held its breath.

Five faces stared back at the thousands gathered:

๐ŸŒŸ Lolade โ€“ AllStars Foundation College

๐ŸŒŸ Peace โ€“ Royal Academy

๐ŸŒŸ Nyambura โ€“ Nairobi Elite Academy

๐ŸŒŸ Duduyemi Alao โ€“ Queensland Heights

๐ŸŒŸ Taye โ€“ Glory Heights International

The nominees stood together on the stage, bathed in spotlights that highlighted the tension in their eyes. Sweat gleamed on their foreheads. Hands fidgeted with bracelets, badges, hair strands but none dared move too much.

Every blink, every glance could be observed, judged, dissected. The crowd murmured in anticipation, the sound electric โšก๐ŸŒ™.

NancyPie appeared from the shadows, stepping forward with commanding grace. The lights seemed to bend to her will, illuminating her sleek black ensemble, silver rings glinting as she raised one hand. Silence fell immediately. โœจ๐Ÿ˜Œ

"Good evening thrice again," her voice rang smooth but sharp, cutting through the tension like a blade. "Tonight is not about popularity. Tonight is not about hype. Tonight is about judgment. Ability. Integrity. And presence."

The cameras switched between the nominees, capturing tight jaws, nervous shuffles, and barely concealed determination.

NancyPie's gaze swept across them like fire, daring any weakness to show. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‘€

"You are five," she continued, "chosen from hundreds. From thousands. Each of you has demonstrated excellence. But excellence alone will not determine the winner of Studlist 3.0. Tonight, your answers will define you. Your decisions will decide whose name is etched in history."

The crowd leaned forward. Phones came up. Streams started. Every word, every microexpression would be seen and remembered. ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ“ฒ

NancyPie stepped closer to the podium, lowering her voice slightly. "Your first question is simpleโ€ฆ or is it? Let's see." She paused, letting the silence stretch. Every heartbeat in the arena seemed amplified. ๐Ÿ’“

"If faced with a family emergency and a public emergency, which would you choose to respond to first? And why?"

The nominees stiffened. Lolade's eyes narrowed, Peace's lips pressed together, Nyambura's fingers twitched slightly, Duduyemi Alao's gaze shifted to the crowd, and Taye blinked rapidly. ๐ŸŒช๏ธโœจ

NancyPie gestured to Lolade first. "You, AllStars. Your response."

Lolade exhaled slowly, her chest rising and falling like a drumbeat. "Family," she said firmly, voice steady despite the pressure. "Without them, the public has no reason to exist. But that does not mean I will abandon the public. I will act as soon as I can. Priorities must be weighed, but loyalty and responsibility start at home." ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ”ฅ

NancyPie turned to Peace. "Royal Academy."

Peace's gaze was cool, calculating. "The public," she said calmly. "Because a public emergency affects more lives. Family matters, yes but leadership means protecting the many, even when it costs personally. I would ensure family safety simultaneously, but my duty is to the people." ๐ŸŒ™โšก

Nyambura of Nairobi stepped forward. "Family," she said softly but with conviction. "The public can endure. My family cannot. I would act decisively, then mobilize public support. Balance is key, but people closest to you must always come first."

Duduyemi Alao adjusted his jacket, Queensland Heights pride on display. "Public first," he said sharply. "Emergencies affecting more people demand immediate action. Sacrifice is part of responsibility."

Taye of Glory Heights took a deep breath. "Family," he admitted. "Because my actions must be grounded in the people I love most. That foundation enables me to act responsibly for the greater good."

NancyPie's eyes narrowed slightly, lips curving into a controlled smile. "Interesting. Very interesting. The choices you made reveal priorities, judgment, and heart. The next question will test you further. Are you ready?"

The nominees exchanged glances. Nods. Silent promises.

NancyPie raised both hands. "As the voting starts. Just remember this: Your answer is only as strong as the conviction behind it."

The crowd erupted again, louder than ever. ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŒŒ

"The next question," NancyPie's voice cut through the arena, sharp as a knife. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŽค "Are you singleโ€ฆ because relationships happen, does leadership and excellence affect focus?"

She gestured first to Lolade. "AllStars. Your response."

Lolade straightened, chin high. "Single," she said firmly, voice carrying over the silent crowd. "No one in mind before graduation." ๐Ÿ’›โœจ

NancyPie shifted to Peace. "Royal Academy."

Peace's lips curved in a faint, confident smirk. "Single," she said smoothly. "But relationships do not affect leadership or excellence. The motive, focus, and sense of responsibility determine impact. In fact, handled wisely, relationships can strengthen leadership. What of leaders who are married, or dating yet leading well? They inspire more, act with balance, and lead with perspective. Leadership is not diminished by love, it can be enhanced." ๐Ÿ’Žโšก

Nyambura stepped forward. "Single," she said softly, almost shyly. "I do have someone in mind, but it will not distract me from my goals."

Duduyemi Alao adjusted his jacket. "Single," he said firmly. "Focus must come first. Priorities define results."

Taye nodded slowly, his expression calm. "Taken," he admitted. "My relationship strengthens me, not hinders me. Leadership and personal life can coexist if handled with integrity." ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŒŒ

NancyPie let a long pause linger, silver rings catching the lights. The tension was palpable. ๐ŸŒŒโšก

"Very well," she said finally. "Your personal lives, your prioritiesโ€ฆ all revealed much about your discipline and focus. But there's one final test: the vote will now decide the winner."

The crowd leaned forward. Phones were recording every micro-expression. The arena hummed with electricity. ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

NancyPie raised her hand, and the votes were tallied. The screens flashed. Faces, votes, streams all alive.

"We have a winnerโ€ฆ๐Ÿ”ฅโœจPeace of Royal Academy!๐Ÿ”ฅโœจ"

The arena erupted. Screams, chants, and fireworks lit the Abuja sky. Peace's victory was decisive, over 100 students ahead of the Taye then Lolade. ๐ŸŒŒ๐Ÿ’ฅ

She stepped forward, radiant and victorious. The Studlist 3.0 trophy was presented to her, gleaming under the lights. โœจ๐Ÿ†

"And...," NancyPie announced, her voice carrying across the arena, "she is now officially an admin of ZETACIRCLE."

The crowd went wild. ๐Ÿ’Ž๐Ÿ”ฅ

Lolade walked back to her ASF section before anyone spoke, pride and quiet satisfaction in her steps. Gift, BigDave, Arabaddie, and the rest celebrated Peace looking at the stage.

MideFlex stood up, eyes following Peace, admiration in his gaze. Zad and Zayn sat together, applauding Peace with genuine respect, acknowledging her triumph. ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒŒ

His cousin is big work though he will still question her answer when they get back home๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ”ฅ

Public over family ke?๐Ÿฅฐโœจ

The night marked the final GYCF event. Photos were taken. Memories captured. Every student, tired but elated, eventually made their way to rest. Abuja fell silent under a starry sky, the festival concluded, and the last night closed in peace. ๐ŸŒ™๐Ÿ’ซ

๐Ÿ”ฅโœจ The Final Spotlight had been claimed, history written, and Studlist 3.0's legacy sealed.

Quick question: Which will you pick first? Family or Public?
