Valerie's eyes widened; she stared, dumbstruck, at Madeline as each word spewed out of her mouth. She gasped at the closing sentence.
"Madeline!" Raelyth growled, clenching his fists into tight balls on the dining table. He called for Lucas.
"Your Grace," Lucas answered shortly, sweat lining his forehead. He had tried stopping Madeline from entering the house unannounced, but they were both vampire, and he couldn't use the leverage that he was a man to forcefully shove her out of the door. His master would not accept that, as much as he did not want anything to do with Madeline.
"Show Madeline to the door."
Madeline widened her eyes and scoffed. "You cannot send me away; I will not allow it." She looked at Valerie with a sneer, then back at Raelyth. "Valik, we both know what I said was the truth. Tell your wife the truth—you only want her in your b—"
