Chapter 107 - Chapter 106: Ambush

Chapter 106: Ambush

With a loud shout, a large army of Hrud surged out from underground, surrounding them. The Alpharius-led forces, being elites, swiftly organized a counterattack, with several Mechanicum Magi leading numerous Thallax to form a defensive line.

A fierce battle erupted in the perilous forest terrain, with large numbers of Hrud troops seen climbing up the nearby cliffs.

Against the Alpharius-led force that had personally destroyed their super city, the Hrud army swarmed in, numbering hundreds of thousands. These Hrud all came from the underground cities connected to the super city.

The powerful firepower of the outer Thallax slaughtered countless Hrud, but on the uneven terrain opposite, the Hrud army surged forward like a tide.

Alpharius, leading the Space Marines, resisted tenaciously. Exploding bolts easily harvested the emerging Hrud. Not long into the battle, the surrounding forest was torn to shreds by the war.

Hrud armies charged desperately from all directions. Naturally low in intelligence, the Hrud were fiercely loyal and fearless of death. Countless laser beams and explosions enveloped the entire battlefield.

Even with immense sacrifices, the Hrud army exchanged quantity for quality.

One Thallax after another was tackled to the ground by hundreds of Hrud, who directly gnawed and tore at them with their teeth and hands. But the Thallax's material was too hard. Aside from malfunctioning, they suffered little damage.

Julius the Wise, leaning on his staff at the front, roared, directing the Thallax and the Skitarii to kill the enemies.

As time passed, tens of thousands of Hrud corpses piled up before them. Julius the Wise stood prominently on the battlefield, roaring loudly.

In a hidden corner of the chaotic battlefield, a Hrud priest waved his staff, unleashing an aging sound wave.

Julius subconsciously released an energy shield and turned to see the Hrud priest.

But it was too late.

The aging ripple struck the energy shield directly. The force field shield did not block the power of time's decay, and the aging ripple directly struck the body of Julius the Wise. Visible mechanical aging spread throughout his body.

From the corner of his eye, Julius the Wise saw Alpharius bravely fighting the enemy, but his mechanical eyes gradually lost their light.

Sage Russell and others nearby moved immediately. But several Hrud priests had already targeted them. Russell controlled several Thallax to block in front of him, counterattacking and moving his position simultaneously.

The Hrud priests' beams did not hit the wary three Sages. The aging light waves that hit the Thallax directly caused them to age. Some light waves were not aimed at them, but at the Astartes Warriors behind them.

Ingpeck, holding his boltgun, narrowly moved aside, watching several of his capable assistants age and fall to the ground in their original positions. He turned his weapon toward the priests.

Company Commander Sidlanke of the Terminators saw Ingpeck leading his subordinates to charge the Hrud army and swiftly led his Terminator squad to provide cover.

As Sidlanke looked for Alpharius among the surrounding Hrud army, he reached for his communicator.

Without the slightest hesitation, Sidlanke quickly requested aid from Omegon.

Omegon, still on the space battleship, was startled by the message.

He pulled up the data and saw the two sides engaged in a fierce battle on the treacherous terrain below. He immediately notified Skorr to lead the Thunderhawk Gunship squadron to reinforce them quickly.

Omegon, clad in Terminator Power Armor, stood on the bridge. He moved toward the warp portal.

A blur of space enveloped Omegon, and he vanished in a flash.

As the crowd battled in the complex forest terrain, a Space Marine clad in heavy Terminator Power Armor appeared before them.

Upon seeing this, more than a dozen Hrud priests swiftly prepared to launch aging wave attacks at Omegon.

Whoosh!

In a flash, Omegon had already vanished. His figure suddenly reappeared among the Hrud army, his Power Sword striking down enemies like a rapid sword shadow, while his peripheral vision sought out the Hrud priests' positions.

Thousands of Hrud soldiers surged forward from all sides. Omegon raised his left hand and, with a powerful surge, vanished.

In an instant, Omegon's punch struck the chest of a Hrud in front of him.

Under the amplification effect of the gravity hammer, the Hrud's body was visibly shattering rapidly, but Omegon ignored it and swept past.

Boom!

Over a thousand Hrud soldiers on the battlefield were blasted into the air amidst screams, leaving a clear space around them.

Other Space Marines were also shocked by the sight. When they looked again, they only saw countless sword shadows slicing through hundreds of Hrud.

Charging straight through, Omegon's rear-mounted laser cannon fired a shot that landed far away with a thunderous roar, directly blasting away the dense Hrud army within a several-hundred-meter radius. Large numbers of Hrud corpses fell to the ground.

A Hrud priest stood behind a large rock, leaning on his staff and exerting all his strength to aim at Omegon, preparing to unleash his ability, but in a flash, Omegon's figure vanished.

Boom!

Suddenly, the large rock in front of him exploded with a thunderous roar.

The priest and a large number of Hrud elites behind the shattered rock were directly severely wounded and sent flying.

In the chaos, a figure flashed through the shattered rocks, and countless sword lights cut through at extreme speed. Omegon's figure had already appeared a hundred meters away, constantly flashing and slaughtering countless Hrud soldiers at a high frequency.

As large amounts of shattered rock fell, the Hrud priest and elite soldiers who had been standing there lay on the ground, their bodies shattered.

The Primarchs were so powerful that each was like an entire army. The Company Commanders watched Omegon single-handedly sweep through tens of thousands of Hrud soldiers.

His movements were so fast that they sometimes only saw explosions and sword shadows.

Omegon fought and moved quickly, constantly flashing, making it impossible for the Hrud priests to lock onto his position for a time.

The Primarch's speed reached an astonishing hundreds of meters per instant, far exceeding the capture capability of ordinary human vision.

Countless people on the battlefield only saw large numbers of Hrud soldiers dying continuously, occasionally catching sight of Alpharius or Omegon.

Once a Hrud priest's position was discovered, he would instantly vanish. When Sage Russell and others looked over, they saw that the Hrud priest's head had already been severed, and Omegon had already flashed to another part of the battlefield.

Without a moment's pause, Omegon killed nearly a thousand Hrud soldiers and several Hrud priests in just over ten minutes.

Omegon saw the brutal battlefield, with the Hrud army relentlessly surging forward, even overwhelming the Thallax at the front.

After quickly contacting the Data Repository and transmitting his location, a large number of missiles were soon launched to blanket the area.

Countless missile explosions dispersed the Hrud army, and Alpharius and Omegon led their subordinates in continued combat.

The maddened Ingpeck, leading his men, was about to charge forward when several missiles landed and exploded directly, blasting him away.

He cursed angrily, "Why are they even bombing our own people!"

"The bombing has a designated range. Don't rush into the bombing zone!" Omegon reminded him from the side, roughly drawing a boundary.

Ingpeck halted, and he looked at Omegon in silence for a moment before leading his men to fight on the side.

Soon after, countless missiles bombarded the area before them from the sky. The Hrud army suffered countless casualties under the explosions but continued to charge forward regardless of the cost.

Taking advantage of the chaos, Omegon and Alpharius eliminated all the Hrud priests they found.

Large numbers of Thunderhawk Gunships and bombers arrived, blackening the sky, and the surrounding Hrud army immediately suffered a full-scale bombardment.

Alpharius remained in position, determined to wipe out the Hrud army before him.

After half a day of intense battle, the forest within a radius of several tens of kilometers had vanished entirely.

The undulating ground was covered with countless Hrud army corpses. Relying on the deployment of a large number of Thallax and Space Marines, they won this battle.
