Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Combat Training

The forest behind the Ninja School.

Shuriken and Kunai shot towards Hakushi from all directions.

Hakushi faced this terrifying scene calmly, holding a Kunai in one hand, his body twisting as the Kunai in both hands swiftly sliced through the air.

All that could be heard was the continuous ding ding ding sound, along with the sparks from metal collisions, as all the incoming Kunai and Shuriken were struck down by Hakushi, scattering at his feet.

Hakushi exhaled slightly, looking at the densely scattered Kunai and Shuriken around him, his expression remained calm, as if achieving this level was nothing out of the ordinary.

But in fact, deflecting such a large number of Kunai and Shuriken without a scratch, even a Genin who officially graduated from Ninja School would find it difficult to accomplish.

Hakushi was able to do this not just because of his hard work but also because he possessed excellent physical agility and dynamic vision beyond ordinary people.

This was Hakushi's inherent strong talent.

Moreover, Hakushi further optimized his physical agility and dynamic vision using some scientific training methods from his previous life.

Therefore, accomplishing this after just two months of systematic learning was not surprising to Hakushi at all.

In his previous life as a seasoned doctor, he deeply understood the structure of the human body and knew the importance of physical agility and dynamic vision for a ninja.

Strong dynamic vision allowed him to better capture the movements and attack trajectories of the enemy.

Exceptional physical agility allowed him to react quickly in combat and gain an advantage.

So even though he already possessed outstanding physical agility and dynamic vision, Hakushi still organized a training plan that suited his body condition, further enhancing his physical agility and dynamic vision, striving for excellence.

Hakushi understood clearly that his biggest advantage was not his true physical agility and dynamic vision, but the vast knowledge from another world within his mind.

This was the foundation of his existence.

The power of knowledge was infinite.

Knowledge could heal mental ignorance, strengthen one's mind, and teach how not to be governed by ignorance.

Knowledge could also heal physical weakness, teaching how to become stronger more quickly and effectively.

Gathering up all the Kunai and Shuriken from the ground, despite these ninja tools being damaged, Hakushi's funds were not particularly ample, so even a piece of iron had to be squeezed of its last value, not wasted.

After all, he was in his growing phase and couldn't neglect his diet, ensuring sufficient nutrition for his body.

After collecting the ninja tools, Hakushi didn't leave but wrapped his fists and legs with white bandages and practiced Taijutsu against a sturdy wooden stake.

It was already night. The forest behind the Ninja School was quiet, with only Hakushi's slight breathing and the sound of his body colliding with the wooden stake echoing, as time slowly passed...

Next morning.

"Good morning, Ayane."

After two months of interaction, Hakushi had become very familiar with his deskmate Hyuga Ayane, and his address to her was more casual.

"Good morning, Hakushi-kun."

Contrary to Hakushi's casualness, Ayane, as a member of the Hyuga Clan, had to maintain the cumbersome etiquette required of a prominent family.

After these days of interaction, Hakushi learned that Ayane came from the branch family of Konoha's prestigious Hyuga Clan, and the cataract-like eyes were a traditional trait of the Hyuga Clan.

This family of ninja used a Kekkei Genkai pupil technique called "Byakugan," which they combined with the family Gentle Fist in battle, renowned in the Ninja Realm.

"You too, good morning, Ruri-san."

Sitting at his place, Hakushi greeted another girl with a smile.

Uchiha Ruri only glanced coldly at Hakushi without responding, as if she was aloof, like always watching the playground outside the window.

"By the way, did you hear, Hakushi-kun?"

"What?"

Ayane spoke up from the other side, causing Hakushi to turn his head and look at her quizzically.

"It's said there will be a practical class today."

"Practical class?"

"Yeah, it's a type of practical lesson, but not the kind involving Shuriken throwing; it's a two-person group competitive practice course."

Ayane's voice was gentle.

"I see. This might be a bit challenging for me, but it shouldn't be a problem for you, Ayane."

Among the three in Hakushi's row, his grades were the most unremarkable, with only the theoretical exams being excellent; whether in Shuriken throwing or physical tests, he was a medium student.

Neither a poor nor an excellent student.

Of course, this was the deliberate result of Hakushi.

In contrast, the cold-natured, taciturn Uchiha Ruri consistently held the top class position, whether it's in theory or practical classes, her grades were first.

Ayane was slightly behind but still maintained a top-five standard in the class.

Like Ayane, Ruri also originated from Konoha's prestigious family—the Uchiha Clan.

Possessing a Kekkei Genkai pupil technique known as "Sharingan."

However, the probability of activating the Sharingan is lower than the Byakugan of the Hyuga, albeit it was more powerful than the Byakugan.

Moreover, the Uchiha Clan's ninja were proficient in Shuriken and Fire Style.

Hakushi gradually understood these things as well.

Hakushi couldn't help but sigh; being born into a prestigious family meant civilians couldn't compete right from the start.

"Let's work hard together, Hakushi-kun."

Ayane encouraged Hakushi.

"Alright, if I'm paired with you, Ayane, make sure to go easy on me."

Hakushi didn't want to display his true abilities, so he only achieved mediocre scores in all previous tests.

Being in a neither-high-nor-low position was just right for Hakushi.

Therefore, if Ayane were his opponent, Hakushi had already decided to bite the bullet for a while before losing the battle; it was the most correct judgment.

He was just an ordinary person and couldn't achieve overly dazzling results.

Of course, even if he exerted all his current strength and fought against Ayane, losing was possibly more likely.

After all, she was a member of the prestigious Hyuga Clan, and there were certainly elders who would provide her with extra tutoring.

The gap between civilians and ninja from family hierarchies was immense.

He just needed to maintain the normal level expected of a civilian.

Although that was the plan, outcomes are always unexpected.

In the first practical class –

As Ayane mentioned, the class teacher Fujimura Daiga organized the first-year A class's initial practical test, conducting combat in pairs; he himself stood outside the circle with a notebook, looking like he was going to record something.

However, instead of being paired with Ayane, Hakushi was teamed up with his other deskmate, Ruri.

A genius girl from the distinguished Uchiha Clan of Konoha, a clan as equally famed as the Hyuga.

During the practical class, the shuriken provided for the students was made of wood, and its sharp parts were smoothed out, with edges becoming rounded, so even if it struck the body, it would only cause pain without a threat to life.

"How dull, using this kind of toy to compete."

Standing next to Hakushi, the Uchiha girl scanned the two battling boys with a scornful look on her face.

"Um, Ruri-san, saying that isn't quite nice, is it? We're just first-year students."

Hakushi hesitated slightly, softly reminding Ruri not to stir public animosity.

For most students, directly using regular Shuriken and Kunai from the start would easily cause bloodshed.

"Worry less about others, you'd better be concerned about yourself; once we're on the field, I won't hold back."

Hakushi awkwardly chuckled, remaining silent.

Time flew quickly, and it was Hakushi's group's turn to take the field.
