Chapter 261 - Chapter 5: Land of Demons Road (Part 2)

Konoha Hospital.

In a certain ward on the second floor, Tsunade is examining Minato's body.

"How do you feel now?"

Tsunade pressed Minato's exposed arm with her finger.

"The muscles feel very stiff, I can't move them flexibly."

Minato's face was rather pale. Since waking up, he felt his physical functions were stiff and movement was difficult.

"This is normal, don't worry. I haven't detected any abnormalities in your body. I'll prescribe some medicine, and you'll recover in half a month or so."

Tsunade nodded, which was more or less what she had expected.

Although Minato had resurrected from a state of death, his body would be in a weakened state for some time. With medication and rest, he would return to normal standards.

"How's the pain in your chest?"

Tsunade asked again.

The fatal wound to Minato had entered through his chest.

Minato touched his chest and said, "I can't feel the pain anymore."

But recalling that scene from that night, he still felt a chill through his body, as if drenched in cold water.

That man genuinely wanted to kill him.

He feared his Space-Time Ninjutsu — the Flying Thunder God Jutsu.

"By the way, Lady Tsunade, how is Kushina doing?"

Minato asked worriedly.

"Don't worry, things are more stable on her end. The seal has been successfully put in place, and Teacher Sarutobi is also dispatching the Anbu to investigate in secret."

"I see."

With such a major incident, a thorough investigation was indeed necessary, especially concerning Kushina's Jinchuriki status.

Before this incident, the number of ninjas who knew that Kushina was the Nine-tailed Jinchuriki was limited to high-ranking officials and her Anbu protectors.

However, Hakushi and Ruri had accurately found Kushina and released a portion of the Nine-tailed power within her, even breaking the Uzumaki Clan's Sealing Technique.

The seriousness of this matter was undeniable.

"Lady Tsunade."

Shizune pushed a cart in, with medicine prepared for Minato on the top layer, and lunch, softer nutritional food on the lower layer.

"Here you are, Shizune."

"Yes, these are the regular medications for Senior Minato, along with his lunch."

Shizune pushed the cart to Minato's bedside and took a cup to pour hot water.

Tsunade picked up the medicine from the cart, looked through it, and asked Shizune, "This isn't a drug developed by Konoha, is it?"

Shizune turned her head and smiled, "This is an active body medicine produced by the Shion Flower Company, which can help Senior Minato recover quickly."

"Have they been checked?"

Tsunade asked.

She poured a few pills from the bottle and sniffed them.

Not that she didn't trust it, but during this crucial time for Minato, it would be troublesome if someone mixed poison into the medicine.

"Yes, they've been checked repeatedly, no issues."

Shizune replied.

Tsunade nodded, reassured, and put the medicine bottle back.

"Minato, you should rest here first. I'll go check the situation at the Intelligence Department."

"Alright, take care, Lady Tsunade."

Minato nodded, feeling it wasn't right to make Tsunade stay with him the whole time.

Shizune followed Tsunade out of the room, walking along the hospital's second-floor corridor.

"What's the matter? You seemed to have something to say just now."

Tsunade glanced sideways at Shizune.

"Well... Lady Tsunade, did Senior Hakushi really betray the village?"

"You're asking that too? That little girl named Nohara Rin asked many times before. Although it's hard to accept, one could only say everything that person did in Konoha was just a facade."

"But… there wasn't any sign at all before... Why would Senior Hakushi betray the village?"

Shizune's eyes were downcast.

She couldn't imagine that the gentle and courteous senior she knew would pose a great threat to the village, going as far as to mercilessly attack his comrades.

"Well, who knows."

Tsunade's eyes flickered slightly.

"You should head back; I'm going to the Intelligence Department to take a look."

"Okay."

Shizune nodded absentmindedly, and walked home alone.

It was only when Shizune's figure disappeared around the corner that Tsunade took another path.

The Intelligence Department was in a relatively secluded and quiet corner, with Konoha's library not far away, guarded by several Konoha Ninjas.

Most inside were office staff, gathering knowledgeable talents from many fields, especially ninjas with excellent analytical abilities.

"Lady Tsunade, is there anything you need?"

A female ninja approached.

"The task from before."

"Oh, most of it is done, but since much of the information was fragmented and there were no abnormalities before, there might be some discrepancies in the intelligence deduction."

The female ninja answered somewhat lacking confidence as she led Tsunade to her office, retrieving a document from a shelf and placing it before Tsunade.

The female ninja made Tsunade a cup of tea then went back to work, leaving Tsunade alone to read the document.

Tsunade opened the intelligence document.

Konoha Ninja Chiba Hakushi's file record.

It was drastically different from the previous file.

The previous file only indicated standard Chunin Level, with only a notable Medical Ninjutsu. All other skills perfectly aligned with that rank.
