Chapter 626 - Chapter 442: Ancient Tomb

Countless bird Pokémon flew up from the forest, the rumbling sound was incessant.

The ground trembled continuously.

Absol hadn't disappeared for long when numerous Wild Pokémon ran out from the forest, fleeing in panic past Baimu and Blissey on both sides.

The roars of beasts and birdsong accompanied them on either side.

Clearly, they were quite frightened by the sudden mudslide.

Baimu frowned and only relaxed after confirming that his side probably wouldn't be affected.

But with the mudslide blocking the road, the path ahead would be difficult to traverse, and taking a detour would cost at least half a day's journey.

Looks like another strategy needs to be thought of.

In a daze.

He suddenly caught sight of a white flash near the site of the disaster. Taking out his binoculars, he found that it was indeed Absol darting through the rolling rocks, its perilous maneuvers making him break out in a sweat.

And in its mouth was a Zigzagoon, while another Zigzagoon, eyes shut and screaming, clung tightly to its curved horn.

Turns out it went to rescue Wild Pokémon!

No wonder its hidden Trait is the [Heart of Justice], truly fitting.

Baimu handed the binoculars to the curious-looking Blissey beside him. After seeing it, Blissey first gasped in shock and then sighed in relief, thinking that Absol had already successfully escaped danger.

What a pity, what a pity.

Encountering such a black-faced, white-furred friendly big cat on usual occasions, he'd definitely rush over to feed it something, indulging his love for fluff during the process.

But now, with such heavy rain, and the raincoat chafing and sweating due to the rush, plus the path ahead being a total mess, he had no mood for that.

Hmm.

His state of mind clearly isn't quite elevated enough.

Baimu turned his head and saw Blissey holding its small hands in front of itself, staring intently at the chaotic mountain slope, thinking it was most likely worried about other unfortunates being affected by the mudslide.

The kind-hearted Pink Giant Egg, even after evolving, still hadn't changed its kind nature.

"...Should we go over and have a look?"

He didn't mind making a trip, to ease his own Pokémon's heart.

"Happy."

Blissey contemplated but shook its head.

The mudslide was too dangerous; it didn't want its Trainer to recklessly rush into such a risky place. Miss Joy had taught it that helping others should first ensure one's own safety.

And professional tasks should be left to professionals.

Baimu extended his hand to try and pat Blissey's head, but paused slightly when he was about to touch it, switching to stroke the curls on either side of its head instead, "It's alright, we can just fly over."

"Happy?"

Blissey didn't immediately react until it saw the Trainer take out a simple teleportation device, then it understood.

Soon after.

Bang!

A Pokeball opened.

"Roar!"

Mega Steelix shot towards the sky like a dragon, it flew so high only to find its head hadn't even surpassed the tree tops, not even halfway, so it paused for a moment.

And when the sparse rainwater hit its body, it couldn't help but feel even more speechless.

"Roar?"

Steelix lowered its head, glaring at its Trainer with copper-like red eyes, and gave a greeting to Blissey along the way.

You still remember I'm Weak Water Attribute, right? Calling me out on a rainy day is kind of over the top, isn't it?

Baimu laughed, "Hey, I didn't have a choice, you're the biggest one at home who can carry me and Blissey. Besides, don't tell me a Pokémon who can slide into a creek like a waterslide is afraid of rain."

Unlike Onix that whines at a touch of water, Steelix, though also Weak Water Attribute, has a high tolerance for rainwater.

As long as the water droplets on its surface are wiped off promptly afterwards to avoid joint rust, there won't be any problems.

Due to its size, its joints are actually quite vulnerable, such that an attack might hit its weak point fairly easily.

"We need to go over there and have a look, please." He patted the broad and sturdy lateral steel girder.

"Roar..."

Hearing this, Steelix had to bow its broad head, letting the Trainer and Blissey step on, and it had some complaints as it used Electromagnetic Levitation to take off, "Whew~"

This blasted weather.

"The climate in special areas is just like this."

As Baimu settled himself on its head, with Blissey leaning against the Trainer as a cushion, its gaze fixed on the distant muddy waters and vegetation still flowing vigorously.

Steelix flew fast.

In no time, they were already above the cascading mudslide.

The mudslide kept rolling until reaching a gentle area, not stopping as it continued crushing countless lush trees ahead, either snapped in half by boulders or uprooted completely, toppling forward altogether.

Even a glance at it was terrifying. However, it wasn't an even more exaggerated scene than what Baimu and Blissey had seen before.

All three of them looked down, searching for those in distress below.

"The visibility is too low, it's hard to find."

Baimu strained to open his eyes wide, but with the sun hidden by cloudy skies, seeing clearly was indeed difficult.

He straightforwardly took out the high-powered flashlight he used in the Spirit Realm earlier, directly calling upon 'Sun' to descend, to help him see if any unfortunates were being dragged along.

Thankfully, mudslides were different from flash floods; after a portion of a mountain's rock layer collapses, it would stop, leaving behind a mess on the ground, although the lower part still rolled.

"Happy!"

Suddenly Blissey let out a startled cry.

"What's the matter? Where?" Baimu hurriedly leaned over and saw Blissey's eyes glowing blue, its whole face scrunched up as if it were exerting all its strength.

Then a rugged stone flew out from the mudslide.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be five or six Geodude entwined, tightly clutching their eyes shut—
