Chapter 152 - Chapter 148: Thunder Amidst the Mountains

"Hey, oh——————"

On a massive, desolate mountain, a tall boy wearing a blue Duel Academy uniform was shouting at the mountains.

"Wow, I've always wanted to go mountain climbing, and now that I'm really here, it feels so exhilarating! Haha~" Tenjouin Fubuki shouted with all his might and, after he ran out of energy, he supported himself on his knees and burst into laughter.

At this moment, he was standing on the peak of a gigantic mountain with Tenjo Hikari.

From their vantage point, all around them were endless mountain ranges, white clouds floated around them, with the faint rumble of thunder in the distance, some birds flew by and chirped a few friendly notes upon spotting them.

Tenjouin Fubuki waved at them and then picked up a camera, snapping a few quick photos.

"Oh... Yeah, yeah, not bad at all. Coming here with you was definitely the right choice!" He couldn't help but smile while looking at the beautiful cloudscape in the pictures that the camera had produced.

"Senior, what's that?" Tenjo Hikari looked at the camera in his hand.

It seemed like a new model.

According to the technological level of this world, things like cameras and computers certainly advanced far beyond the world Tenjo Hikari had come from, but most of the technology focused on advancements in duel technology, leaving other areas somewhat stagnant.

After all, in most cases, having a Duel Disk was enough.

Besides, only AI and high-end aerospace and dimensional technology developed rapidly.

The camera in Fubuki's hand wasn't advanced technology, but it was definitely something regular students couldn't get their hands on easily.

"Ah, you know, right?" Fubuki chuckled after hearing Tenjo Hikari's question, "Back in school, I was considered a star, just like Ryo."

Tenjo Hikari nodded: "I've heard there was even a title called KING."

"Well... Honestly, compared to 'Caesar,' KING is not that cool." Fubuki laughed heartily, "Anyhow, because of Ryo's performance in the professional arena and his past duels in the X Dimension, I also got some attention from companies.

Just because I was ranked with him."

"Really?"

Though he was smiling, Tenjo Hikari could feel Fubuki's discontentment.

Although Tenjouin Fubuki in the original "Yu-Gi-Oh! GX" was known as the "Unbeaten Legend" for never winning a duel, akin to Dinosaur Lyuzaki, he was different from Lyuzaki.

Because, in the end, he resolutely stood by Judai's side, willing even to sacrifice himself to summon "darkness" in search of clues. It was just that his own abilities were insufficient.

"I chased all those guys away, and then... Hey, a strange company contacted me." He smiled, giving a thumbs-up to Tenjo Hikari, "It's a photography company. They saw the pictures I took of Asuka and thought I had a lot of talent. They asked if I was interested in becoming a photographer for them—even though I'm not a Duelist.

Since I'm really handsome, right? Plus, my photography skills are pretty good, so they wanted to invite me."

"They didn't even recognize me at all."

"So that's how it is." Tenjo Hikari understood.

Though he seemed carefree and acted as if he didn't care about anything, Tenjouin Fubuki still had his own pride.

"But I can't let those guys think I'm just an unscrupulous brother who only knows how to take pictures of my sister and make money off her."

Oh?

Isn't that the case?

Tenjo Hikari thought about the past six months.

During the school festival, while everyone else was dueling, he was photographing cosplay Asuka.

During the exchange meeting, while everyone else was dueling, he was taking pictures of the hardworking Asuka...

And during integration department "challenges," everyone else was...

And weren't those pictures sold to the fans of the Academy's Asuka club?

Under the pretense of filling in the tuition fees for the year he was missing!

"Anyway, I thought instead... Since I'm so handsome and talented, loved by all, why not become a brand new me—a Spirit Photographer!

Wow!

I'm truly a genius!"

Once again, he laughed.

Tenjo Hikari pinched his forehead.

"Tenjo Hikari, if you learn from this human, I'll throw you off here," Tierra warned his Divine Favored as she rubbed her arm.

"Of course, I am a bit selfish because, after all, this is the 'Mountain'. It's the habitat of Dragons, Thunder-types, and Winged Beasts. All three factions relate to my deck in some way."

Fubuki completely ignored Tierra's comment, or rather, even if he heard it, he wouldn't care. He looked around, pondering, "However, this place is so vast that if we travel on foot, even after a few days, it might be hard to find suitable Spirits."

Tenjo Hikari nodded in agreement.

Upon closer inspection, the world of the "Mountain" was quite desolate, with very few giant dragons or birds flying around. The whole world felt empty, and even when a large Spirit was spotted, it appeared to be guarding some small Spirits.

"Then, let's see—" He drew a card from his deck without even looking and shouted into the air ahead, "Come forth!"

"Phoenix Beast Gairuda!"

With his shout, a large bird, whose entire body and feathers were encrusted with armor, glowing golden like a spotlight, emerged in front of them. With a quick grab and light leap, he jumped onto the giant bird's back and then turned around, reaching out to Tenjo Hikari.

Noticing this, Tierra, who seemed unconcerned, pulled Tenjo Hikari back, preventing him from grabbing Fubuki's hand. Then, Tierra snapped her fingers, and a palm-sized Archfiend appeared beside her.

Suddenly, countless purple Puppet Strings descended from nowhere, wrapping around this little Archfiend. In the next moment, the strings formed a gigantic ball.

With a loud "bang," the Puppet Strings exploded in all directions, revealing a massive Archfiend, several times larger than both of them and bigger than the Phoenix Beast.

"Wow..." Fubuki exclaimed in surprise.

It even has a seat!

"Hikari, your Spirit has so many abilities!"

"Uh... Yes, yes it does." Hikari couldn't explain how Tierra was so powerful, and with Tierra's forceful pull, he ended up sitting with her on the back of "Satan."

Then, with a flap of its wings, the two of them lifted off the ground, soaring into the sky.

"Hey————" Fubuki somehow pulled out a large megaphone and kept shouting in the air, "Hey———— Is anyone— no, any Spirits here!!!!"

"We are students from the prestigious Duel Academy of the Human World, welcoming any Spirit to join us!"

"I'm the world's soon-to-be greatest Spirit Photographer, and beside me is the master of Extreme Fusion!!"

Hikari noticed that the originally picturesque and peaceful world of the "Mountain" was gradually darkening.

The sound of thunder seemed louder than before.

Dark clouds began gathering, but Fubuki seemed completely oblivious to the changing environment, still shouting energetically.

Until, the clouds thickened, and lightning flashed!

"Who dares to disturb the training of the young cubs!!"

A majestic voice boomed with a tremendous crackling of thunder, startling the typically fearless Fubuki into silence. It even caused his Spirit to hesitate, almost forgetting to fly and nearly plummeting from the sky.

Accompanied by the furious crackling sound, a massive dragon entwined with electricity emerged gradually from the clouds.

It was a majestic, four-horned dragon beast, its body pure white, scalant purplish-black, surrounded by numerous balls of electricity, strikingly similar to the mythical Dragon of eastern legends.

Thunder Dragonlord!

At this moment, it glared at Fubuki with a face full of wrath.

"Oh no..." Fubuki muttered as he saw the angry dragon appear before him, "I seem to have messed up."

He realized why he hadn't seen any large Spirits before this.

The "Mountain" was apparently a place where young Spirits trained and rested!
