El Shaddoll Grysta, LV 7, Fire Attribute, Rock-Type, ATK 2450.
"Huh?"
"Quick-Play Polymerization—"
"Wait, it's not our turn yet!"
The police officer busy checking Tenjo Hikari's identity shouted immediately upon seeing this.
But, that won't do.
Tenjo Hikari didn't have the time to waste with them.
Deliberately making them share Life Points, wasn't it just to save trouble!
"Grysta, direct attack!"
Crystal raised its right fist high, red Puppet Strings converged, transforming into fiery rocks, which fell from the sky, crashing upon the three of them with a bang.
"Ahhh————"
"Guga!"
"Ehhah!"
The three were hit by the giant fiery fist, their Life Points instantly dropping to zero.
Sector Security trio, LP: 2200→0.
Tenjo Hikari ended the duel, puzzled.
The three police officers either collapsed to their knees, fell backward, or clutched a nearby vehicle to support themselves.
He could see the strange black and blue light on the ground, and then, as if drained of energy, the three collapsed, completely unable to move.
Tenjo Hikari ran up, checked their pulse briefly, tested their breath; all three were still alive.
He looked down at the mark on his left hand.
The mark wasn't glowing, so these people falling had nothing to do with his duel—or rather, losing the duel drained their Life Force?
As he pondered, their fellow officers had already driven up around him.
They held guns, guns loaded with cards, aimed at Tenjo Hikari, shouting into their radios, "Danger identified, danger identified! Request immediate support, request immediate support!"
"Riot in the Lower City, riot in the Lower City!"
What was going on?
Tenjo Hikari rubbed his forehead.
"Ah, I remember now, isn't this the person from the Friendship Cup who said 'Polymerization is the noblest form of Summoning'?"
Though they couldn't recall Tenjo Hikari's name, his slogan was quite jarring in the S Dimension. Therefore, although they couldn't remember his name, everyone would recall this line immediately.
Oh! So it was that Other Dimension person from before!
"What, an Other Dimension intruder!?"
"Damn, it's an Other Dimension intruder, no wonder they're so tough!"
"Quick, notify Officer Yeager and Officer Goodwin!"
Realizing Tenjo Hikari was not just a rebellious duelist but a dangerous dimension traveler from who knows where, the officers desperately tried to contact all their superiors.
And those instantaneously defeated officers, along with their unfortunate companions, upon realizing Tenjo Hikari was an Other Dimension intruder, finally sighed in relief and completely fell unconscious.
Losing to Lower-Class People was unbearable for them, but losing to an Other Dimension intruder, well, that was better.
Vroom—
As Tenjo Hikari was contemplating whether to raise his hands and indicate to the officers that he meant no harm, and to gather some intel from them, a car's roar sounded.
A red motorcycle stormed over from afar.
Several officers guarded the entrance, but the motorcyclist charged, easily breaking through the barriers, skidded his rear tire, evaded the pursuing officers, and rushed in front of Tenjo Hikari, even forcing back some Sector Security attempting to approach him.
The familiar red D-wheel, the red helmet, and the face under the mask made Tenjo Hikari's eyes light up.
Isn't that Yusei!
"Hop on!"
Yusei shouted at Tenjo Hikari, who didn't hesitate and immediately leapt onto the back.
Rather than getting intel from the police, going with Yusei was obviously better.
No need for explanations!
Tenjo Hikari jumped on, and Yusei revved the throttle sharply, then activated the vehicle. The Moment emitted a burst of colors as he charged at the police cars, slightly tilting to jump the vehicle, bizarrely climbing the wall of Lower City buildings, then landing on the road and speeding away.
The officers quickly jumped on their D-wheels to chase, but Yusei, an expert at Rider Duels, deftly escaped by twisting through Lower City's twists and bends, losing them and heading underground.
"Yusei, how did it come to this!?" Tenjo Hikari asked Yusei.
Previously in the S Dimension, Sector Security wasn't great to Lower City, but not to this extent—chasing people off the streets, arresting at the slightest displeasure.
Tenjo Hikari did nothing, just watching images on the street, yet they wanted to arrest him without reason. How was this possible?
Vroom—
Screech—
Yusei remained silent until they reached an underground base, stopped the bike, ensured no pursuit, then talked to Tenjo Hikari.
"After you left, in the Friendship Cup, Jack lost to me."
Yusei spoke to Tenjo Hikari as if recounting someone else's story.
"After that, strange things happened here."
He handed Tenjo Hikari some documents as he spoke, and Tenjo Hikari frowned while glancing at Yusei, then hesitated for a moment before reading on.
Turns out, after Yusei and Jack's duel, Yusei became the new "King" due to his victory over Jack.
But having Jack Atlas ascend from the populace to "King" already dissatisfied the Upper City Nobles, and now Yusei as the new "King" was something they were unlikely to let slide.
So, they began airing Jack's previous duel footage, undermining current Sector Security Officer Goodwin, and started manipulating Sector Security remotely.
Moreover, it seemed Goodwin caused some stir in Upper City previously, further antagonizing the Nobles, causing chaos.
Then, a mysterious Geo appeared around Lower City.
The Geo encircled Lower City, its "lines" everywhere, absorbing Life from anyone who lost a duel within, offering Lower City a means to resist Upper City's rule.
Defeat the police in a duel, and they'd be rendered powerless and vulnerable, allowing for card theft and easier fighting. The resistance viewed this as a divine opportunity and launched massive activities.
Consequently, Sector Security tightened patrols, sweeping Lower City relentlessly, and forced residents indoors.
"Did it escalate so badly?" Tenjo Hikari asked in confusion.
Yusei lowered his head; through his helmet, Tenjo Hikari knew he was eyeing his Dark Marked left hand.
But he didn't treat Tenjo Hikari with hostility and instead said:
"This is a secluded spot, rarely searched. Tenjo, although I don't know why you're here, this world's problems are too complex and intense. If you're not interested, use this as a base for exploring your interests.
If you're truly curious about what's happening in this world and what the Geo is doing, then go to this place. You might find answers."
He never dismounted from his bike, tossing a map at Tenjo Hikari as he spoke, which Tenjo Hikari caught and studied.
"There's an upcoming resistance meeting here."
Tenjo Hikari nodded subtly holding the map: "Thanks."
Yusei nodded, revved the throttle again, and roared out of the tunnel, disappearing from Tenjo Hikari's sight.
Tenjo Hikari stared in the direction Yusei vanished, lost in thought.
Resistance…
In the original, the Synchro Dimension's resistance was quite abstract, yet they dared use Earthbound Immortal's power, suggesting a Dark Sign wielder was involved. It might be worth checking out.
