"Just stick to using Polymerization?"
"Ha, what's the point of Polymerization anyway, the Fusion Monsters created don't have any effect."
Several soldiers from the Fusion Army exchanged glances, thinking that Tenjo Hikari was talking nonsense.
But Tenjo Hikari's past actions made them reconsider this possibility.
"If we rely solely on Monsters, isn't it impossible to defeat the Pendulum Commander?" Yugo's side speculated.
Serena tilted her head, she could think of a card that Tenjo Hikari could use to instantly resolve the situation, which was a card she had seen her mentor use before, a Quick-Play Spell Card, Super Polymerization.
With Super Polymerization, this situation could be instantly cleared.
But seeing her mentor's expression, it seemed he didn't want to use Super Polymerization?
Or perhaps scoffed at using Super Polymerization?
She watched the screen, clasping her hands together, anxiously wringing them.
At the Fusion Army Base, while other soldiers were worried, Yuri was watching the scene with a smile.
He was different from the others, he wasn't worried about whether Akaba Leo would lose, he was more curious about how Tenjo Hikari would use Polymerization to cross the Great Spirit Mechanism Army - Pendulum Commander.
It's certainly impossible to fuse an ordinary Monster and succeed, but with a Spell Card for fusion, he had many options. Besides Super Polymerization, he could also use "Ivy Bind Castle" to negate the effects of all cards on the opponent's field, although using Ivy Bind Castle seemingly doesn't align with "Polymerization."
At the very least, he could choose to use a card like Book of Moon to cover the Pendulum Commander and win.
Yet, the cards in Tenjo Hikari's hand seem to be only Flame Swordsdance and Salamandra with Chain; these two cards would need a turn to cover the Pendulum Commander, and if a turn goes wasted, even if the Pendulum Commander is covered, the professor could later flip the Monster back up, and that would not change the situation.
After all, Tenjo Hikari's strategy and tactics have always been strictly about Polymerization.
So, how to resolve this?
He was immensely curious.
"Are you still trying to talk to me about 'Polymerization' at this point? Claiming you're better at fusing? You stubborn kid." Akaba Leo's face darkened upon hearing Tenjo Hikari's words, "Such arrogance... Then let's see how you manage to defeat the Pendulum Commander purely through 'Polymerization'."
He didn't believe that Tenjo Hikari could defeat the Pendulum Commander, especially just using Polymerization?
If he could use other cards, such as banishing spells, or negating Spell Cards, that would naturally bypass the Pendulum Commander.
But if Tenjo Hikari insisted on "Polymerization," then there's absolutely no way to beat it!
As long as the Pendulum Commander is on the field, even Tenjo Hikari's ace card "Infernoid Tierra" would lose its effect, relying solely on Polymerization, how could he win?
Akaba Leo pondered repeatedly without landing on an answer, finally shaking his head, saying that Tenjo Hikari was deliberately affecting his mindset, and covered two cards to end his turn.
"My turn, Draw." Tenjo Hikari calmly drew a card and glanced at it.
"Tenjo Hikari, show it to him quickly." urged Tierra from the side.
Tenjo Hikari nodded.
Actually, to be honest, Tenjo Hikari had many ways to solve this Monster, not mentioning Super Polymerization as the ultimate choice, even aside from Super Polymerization, there were plenty of cards to clear this field, like first activating the Temple of the Kings and then directly using a series of Flame Swordsman cards.
Although many may not have seen the second effect of the Temple of the Kings, that card is indeed for Polymerization, even directly Special Summoning a Fusion Monster's fusion.
However, Tenjo Hikari now had other options to pursue.
"Wondering how to Polymerize to solve this? Let me just show you directly—this card." Tenjo Hikari didn't project any mystery to Akaba Leo and after drawing his card, promptly took out a card to present to his opponent.
Predaplant Chlamydosundew, LV 2, Dark Attribute, Plant-Type, ATK 600, DEF 200.
Predaplant?
Akaba Leo frowned.
"How will a LV 2 Monster resolve the Pendulum Commander?"
"Haha, Tenjo Hikari, insane!"
Chlamydosundew?
Upon seeing this card, Yuri's eyes lit up, then he realized.
This is the way to achieve "Polymerization."
With that card, it could not only instantly resolve the Pendulum Commander but might even directly secure victory!
Tenjo Hikari…
Yuri couldn't help but laugh wildly.
This is far more interesting than the professor!
"What can be done with a LV 2 Monster?"
"A LV 2 might indeed accomplish nothing, but you wouldn't assume I'm showing you this card just because I simply want you to see it, would you?"
!!!
"Reveal any number of 'Predaplant' cards from your Hand Card to the opponent as a target on their field's face-up Monsters." Tenjo Hikari flipped over the card beside Chlamydosundew, "Quick-Play Spell Card, Predaplast!"
Yuri joyously applauded: "So it's a magic to generate Fusion Materials!"
"Predaplast can place a Predap Counter on those Monsters. Any LV 2 or higher Monster with a Predap Counter will become LV 1."
Flowers blossomed over the mechanical carriers.
Petals sprouted over the body of the mechanical general.
Great Spirit Mechanism Army - Pendulum Commander, LV 12→1.
