The corridors of Hogwarts Castle.
The winter sunlight wasn't particularly warm.
It streamed in through the castle's windows, casting mottled light and shadows on the corridor floor, but it couldn't disperse the white mist that formed with each of Ian's breaths in the air.
"I'm really stressed, my soul mate turned out to be the Misty Illusion Realm..." Ian sighed as he passed by countless cheerful little wizards on his way, his dispirited expression a sharp contrast to theirs.
Setting aside the formidable Dark Arts, the magic Ian most looked forward to after arriving in the Magic World, aside from the Animagus Transformation, was undoubtedly the Patronus Charm, which runs through the entire magical world.
Previously, Ian thought he might not have a soul mate due to being a Transmigrator, and he had even considered capturing a small creature from the Misty Illusion Realm once he gained the relevant knowledge, as there were plenty of animals there. However, the gradually clarifying reality gave him a hard blow.
Indeed.
Having the soul mate of a person be a region of the world is really cool, but if that region can't truly be manifested, it's simply a pure tragedy.
Ian felt that his Patronus Charm might never reach the realm of Level 1 in his lifetime.
Name: Ian Prince
Profession: Bloodline Mage
Magic Power: Level 8 (undergoing explosive transition)
Skills: [Wisdom Enlightenment {this skill cannot be upgraded}]
[Patronus Charm (Level 0) 49/50]
...
There was, of course, a reason for Professor Flitwick's amazement at Ian.
Level 8 magic power far outstrips most adult wizards, and the next step is the human limit. Such a level of magic can be considered outstanding even among the most exceptional wizards. However, Ian could clearly feel that such abundant magic seemed utterly inadequate when faced with the variant Patronus Charm.
"It's not that I'm inadequate, but according to Professor Flitwick's theory, the anomalous node of my variant Patronus Charm is so outrageous that even Level 9 magic might not be able to bear that burden." Ian couldn't even summon Dumbledore with a simple Accio spell, so how could he hope to successfully summon the Misty Illusion Realm with an upgraded magic power?
Not to mention which requires more magic between a part of the world and Dumbledore, just the distance between life and death already demands far more burden than the distance between the ends of the earth.
"Even Merlin probably couldn't do it!"
Ian sighed helplessly, temporarily casting aside his obsession with the Patronus Charm, since worrying wouldn't change the fact that his magic couldn't be successfully performed.
"Better go to class first and leave the troubles for emo time at night." Ian jogged to another classroom, as their first-year students had already entered the grueling stage of four classes a day.
After Spell Class, there is a forty-minute break, followed by a Magic Potion Class that will get you scolded if you're late, and Aurora had already secured a seat in Ravenclaw.
"Here, good stuff." Ian walked up and handed a bottle of potion to Aurora. He enjoyed sharing treasures with friends, and this was the first batch of innovative potions he had brewed.
"What is this?"
Aurora gazed curiously at the grayish liquid inside the container.
"If you encounter an enemy you can't beat, just throw it at them. It can temporarily turn a regular wizard into a Squib, and even reduce the strength of powerful wizards."
"I call it a Forbidden Magic Potion. The cost is manageable, but the materials are a bit hard to find," Ian said with excitement, having created another masterpiece potion following the Infinite Firepower Potion.
The ability to brew such a potion was certainly thanks to Teacher Morgan's Amortentia, though Ian thought his own skill in extrapolating concepts also played a crucial role.
The practicality is immensely strong, but it's a pity he can't use this potion to apply for a patent.
"I can help you find the materials,"
Aurora placed the potion inside her robe, hesitating for a moment, "Do you want some Truth Serum? Once I brew it, I'll give you a few bottles."
"Legilimency is much more useful than Truth Serum, I'm a master of Legilimency." Ian began boasting wildly, as boys often do in front of friends.
"Then can you perform Legilimency on my grandfather?"
Aurora asked expectantly.
Ian choked.
"I'm actually not that much of a master..."
He quickly changed the subject.
Soon, Snape, who had missed several days of class, showed up just in time.
Throughout the class, he seemed somewhat distracted, occasionally glancing out the window. Ian thought the good uncle must be worried about Quirrell causing trouble in the castle.
"If he knew your grandfather was also at Hogwarts, he might not be able to sleep well tonight," Ian whispered to Aurora after noticing Snape's increasingly severe dark circles.
"I remember your uncle is also a Death Eater." Aurora apparently already understood the interpersonal relationships within Hogwarts and naturally knew about Snape's past.
"There are competitive relationships within the Death Eaters too." Ian did not choose to expose Snape's dual espionage identity, knowing when to hold certain cards.
"So, you've been keeping an eye on the Professor of Muggle Studies to eliminate your uncle's competitors and push him up the ranks?" Aurora's imagination remained as vivid as ever.
