Chapter 271 - Chapter 194: Moon, Tide, and Dragonites

The quick-tempered Dragonite left with two reluctant Dragonite, three Dratini, and two Dragonair.

Before leaving, the two Dragonite managed to sneak away with a large bag of Naoki's Poffin reserves.

It all started when Naoki saw how reluctant the Dratini and Dragonair were, so he wrapped up a bag of Poffins for each of them as a farewell gift.

As a result, the two wild Dragonite saw it and immediately started acting cute.

Naoki had no choice but to pack two more bags for them.

He originally thought about sending a gift to the quick-tempered Dragonite as well, but it wasn't interested in Poffins and just flew away.

"..." Naoki was speechless, "Seriously!"

Seeing those five troublesome little dragons finally gone, Dragonite felt like the world was brighter.

It sniffed the floral scent wafting in the air and felt like life had never been so wonderful.

Dragonite joyfully tiptoed in a circle on the grass and then eagerly hugged the Cyclizar beside it, sharing its joy at that moment.

Cyclizar, overwhelmed by Dragonite's antics, could only give a helpless look for help to Naoki, "Gah-roar..."

Koraidon watched the scene with a complicated expression, mercilessly bursting Dragonite's bubble of happiness:

"Gya-surr!" (Naoki still has to go to Dragon Island tonight!)

In an instant, Dragonite felt its world turn gray again, and the flowers lost their fragrance.

Naoki found this scene amusing, "Alright, alright, I'm just going over to have a look this time, I promise I won't bring back any more Dragonite."

Dragonite became cautious, "Roar-wu?" (What about the Dratini and Dragonair?)

"Not bringing them either." Naoki thought for a moment, "We don't have enough food storage at home right now; we need to stock up, especially with winter coming. The crops in the field won't grow, so we have to prepare ahead."

Hearing this, Dragonite finally felt relieved.

It thought about it, convinced that the family's food had been eaten by those two wild Dragonite, and patted its chest to promise, "Roar!" (I'll help find food too!)

Dragonite had experienced winter before.

That season is very cold; snow covers the entire island, no Berries can be found, and even the fish in the sea swim to deeper waters to hide.

So some Dragonite would store several Berries in advance and stay in their nests to get through the winter.

"Good child." Naoki smiled, "You don't need to go out finding food for the family just yet."

He pointed to a Berry Garden at the southwest corner of the ranch, "See that garden? In a while, it will be full of big, plump Berries, and with the harvest from the field, you'll have no problem eating through the winter."

Naoki always felt incredibly proud whenever he thought of this.

Look! The once-deserted ranch now transformed under his care!

The fruits are abundant, the grass lush, crops bountiful, and the Pokemon live happily!

Life is complete.

Naoki relaxed and stretched, waving his hand for the surrounding Pokemon to go play on their own, while he turned and headed back.

The Dragonites mentioned their evolution ceremony would begin when the moon rises.

So tonight, Naoki planned to go and watch this special ceremony.

Thinking of the Dragonites evolving under the moonlight, Naoki decided, "Looks like I need to buy a camera."

Such a precious moment cannot just pass unrecorded.

Besides, the photos could be framed and hung on the wall of the tavern to enrich its history.

So that noon, after lunch, Naoki went to the department store in Porto Marinada Town to buy a camera.

In the autumn afternoon, the usually silent older Indeedee placed an exquisite small round table and a chair beside the flower field.

The younger Indeedee kindly brewed a cup of Naoki's favorite red tea for him.

This special tea comes from leaves grown on the antlers of the Sawsbuck. Its fragrance is very strong, and many tea lovers favor it. Whenever there is a tea party, it is indispensable.

Looking at the tea party prepared by the Indeedee siblings, Naoki felt surprised and touched.

He sat at the table under the younger Indeedee's hospitality and took a gentle sip from the fragrant teacup.

"Hmm... your tea-making skills are excellent!" Naoki praised.

The younger Indeedee smiled demurely, "Ai-yi~" (Brother can make tea too~)

"Hmm?" Naoki was instantly intrigued, "Then why haven't I ever seen him do it?"

The younger Indeedee glanced at her brother and found him looking very tense, but he still tried to maintain a stern face, only looking at her disapprovingly.

The younger Indeedee's eyes flickered as if unsure whether to speak or not.

Seeing her expression, Naoki immediately remembered when the younger Indeedee mentioned her brother was clumsy and had blown up the kitchen. He suddenly understood, "Oh, I see!"

The older Indeedee's face showed a hint of embarrassment.

The younger Indeedee quickly waved her little hand, "Ai-yi!" (Brother, it wasn't me who said it!)

The older Indeedee: "..."

"No matter," Naoki laughed heartily, "Everyone has things they're good at and things they're not."

"For example, I'm good at cooking, but if you ask me to sew clothes and dolls, I can't do it."

The older Indeedee's eyes glimmered as it suddenly remembered how while taking care of Naoki's daily tasks and organizing his clothes these past days, it noticed several garments had holes.
