Chapter 493 - Special: The Serpent and the Cake (Part 1)

Senba Academy enjoyed a peaceful day today—actually, a peaceful month. The tyrannical Lin had shown no activity for a whole month. He seemed hollowed out, attending school with a vacant stare, as quiet as a mouse—nothing like the "Demon King" who used to make teachers tremble.

Some speculated he had fallen on his head.

Some speculated he had suddenly turned over a new leaf.

Others speculated he had a girlfriend who kept him on a tight leash...

School rumors were wild. Some observant students noticed Lin looked as though he were suffering from "excessive indulgence," but then again, who would want to be that guy's girlfriend?

As for the person in question, after school today, he hid in the Principal's office.

...

"That's how it is."

Lin, the subject of the school gossip, sat on the sofa clutching his head. A cup of rich coffee sat before him. After a month of "hard labor," his head throbbed as if it were splitting. He saw double, and his walk was as light as stepping on clouds.

That demon...

Whenever he went home, he would surely be caught. She would spend almost the entire night [CENSORED], from the moment he entered the door, to the living room, the bathroom, then the bedroom...

Even if he didn't go home, Lin might still be caught. That was the real nightmare, because being outside meant the risk of being discovered, which made the stimulation skyrocket.

Stranger still, even when Lin wasn't caught, he would wake up the next day with the same symptoms as if he had been. He would even have a scent on him that he'd smelled somewhere before—it seemed to be the fragrance of that nun from the sanitarium. But why would he know what the nun smelled like?

Lin shivered, trying to bury himself in the sofa cushions. He had no choice but to seek help from the Principal.

The students of Senba Academy were right: Lin did have a connection with the Principal. After Lin parents passed away, this Principal—a few years older than him—had looked after him until high school. She had already earned her PhD in Biology while Lin was in middle school, and when Lin transferred to Senba, she seamlessly took the position of Principal.

"Sister Mobius, what should I do?"

The petite, green-haired Principal looked away from her reports to focus on Lin. She looked several years younger than him; anyone else would have mistaken her for a middle schooler.

She curled her lips into a smile—a pure smile without a hint of malice.

"Isn't this great? I was worried you'd never find a girlfriend." Mobius voice sounded equally youthful. She looked at Lin with a relieved expression. "It's good to have someone look after you."

"...Sister Mobius, are you even listening to me? She's about to drain me dry! This isn't about being 'looked after,' it's about whether I'll die young! I don't want to be diagnosed as having died from 'excessive indulgence'!"

"Mhm, I hear you. Little Lin-Lin, I think you're overthinking it. You're just in the honeymoon phase; naturally, you'll have plenty of energy for that sort of thing. It'll get better after a while."

"Sister Mobius, how many times have I told you not to use double names or call me 'Little'..."

Lin sighed helplessly. For as long as he had known her, Mobius was a bit of a "natural airhead." She was extremely gentle, though sometimes too airheaded—to the point of being "darkly" so.

He sometimes wondered if this was a facade and if Mobius was actually a black-hearted, mischievous schemer. But he quickly dismissed the thought; who would consistently maintain a facade for years just to trick him?

"So, what are you thinking, Little Lin-Lin? Breaking up?"

"...I feel like resisting would only further stimulate her desire and interest."

At the thought of Prometheus doing the most wicked things with the coldest expression, Lin fingers trembled.

"Sister Mobius, please, let me stay at your place. If I stay for a while and she can't find me, she'll surely cool down." Lin pressed his hands together in prayer. He was no longer the arrogant Lin of old. They say it takes a woman to change a man; it seemed that was true.

It was just that the process was incredibly arduous.

Mobius tilted her head, gazing at the earnest Lin. She thought for a moment and said, "Hmm... alright. But you have to follow the rules at my place~"

"Thank you so much!"

Lin thanked her, tears streaming down his face.

...

After stepping out the door, Lin expression changed instantly. He suspiciously pressed his ear to the door, listening to the sounds inside.

"Hmm... Little Lin-Lin is coming over. Should I go buy some groceries today?"

Mobius dazed voice drifted through the sandalwood door. Lin breathed a sigh of relief and left.

Ever since Prometheus, he had become a bit paranoid about women. He felt like the look in Mobius eyes when she agreed was a bit suspicious, but it must have been his imagination.

No, no, how could he doubt Sister Mobius? She was the nun who had lived with him for seven whole years. He shouldn't use such lowly thoughts to guess her intentions. How sad would she be if she knew?

After a round of self-criticism, Lin hurried off to pack his things for Mobius house.

...

"Is your name... Lin?"

The rain poured. Heavy droplets slammed onto the child's shoulders. The black-haired boy, his face covered in rain, turned back expressionlessly to see a green-haired girl walking toward him with an umbrella.

Like the others at the funeral, she wore solemn black clothes, but the sorrow on her face was much less than the others.

"I am Mobius, a student of your parents. You can call me Sister. From today on, you will live with me."

Mobius ruffled the boy's black hair and used her umbrella to shield him from the rain, offering a gentle smile.

Color returned to the boy's pale face. He said nothing, his grief being washed away by the heavy rain.

"What a good child. But crying is a way for humans to release emotions; pent-up emotions are bad for the body." Mobius pulled him into her arms, her gentle voice weaving through the sound of the rain. "So cry. It's okay. You aren't alone anymore."

First came the sobs, then the wailing.

Mobius let go of her umbrella to hold the boy, continuously stroking his head and back.

From that day on, Lin had a family member—a person with no blood relation, but a woman he regarded as his real sister: Mobius.
