The rich aroma immediately burst in its mouth.
"Gah!"
The eyes of the Chimchar instantly lit up.
It looked at Natsuhiko in surprise.
What is this stuff?
"Go on, eat up."
Natsuhiko smiled and patted its head again, then stood up and walked towards the Blazing Beasts.
He was not stingy with the Blazing Beasts either, placing a large amount of Intermediate Energy Blocks, beloved by Fire-type Pokémon, at the entrance of their nest.
Seeing the Chimchar eating so heartily, its only friend, the Cyndaquil, was the first to give in.
With it starting to eat, the other Cyndaquils, Quilavas, and Blazing Beasts also eagerly joined in.
Only the leader of the Blazing Beasts took a deep look at Natsuhiko, who wore a kind and smiling face.
It vaguely understood what Natsuhiko wanted to do.
But it didn't reveal it, nor did it stop him.
Because in its eyes, this might be a better choice for the Chimchar.
Natsuhiko's strength was much greater than it had imagined.
The cheerful feeding time was only accompanied by the sounds of chewing and swallowing, nothing else.
The only difference was that some Pokémon swallowed quite loudly.
Like the Snorlax.
In Chimchar's view, Snorlax's stance was such that it could easily devour it in one bite.
And Natsuhiko finally had the opportunity to sit down and closely observe these Pokémon.
As expected, the earlier Cyndaquil was indeed quite excellent, being the most talented among all the Cyndaquils in the Blazing Beast tribe.
However, it was overly protected by the Blazing Beasts, making it somewhat timid and weak.
The Chimchar was also quite good.
However, you could already see signs of self-training in the obviously stronger one.
Though the signs weren't too obvious yet because its training clearly was self-taught, without learning from other Pokémon.
Even though the Blazing Beasts were Fire-type Pokémon like it, their combat styles were completely different.
The Blazing Beasts understood this, so they didn't interfere with Chimchar's self-training, just letting it train and explore on its own.
This caused Chimchar to take many unnecessary detours, but also left it without any traces of other Pokémon.
Its malleability was still acceptable.
What puzzled Natsuhiko was the Chimchar's trait.
Chimchar has two potential traits, one being the more common "Fierce Fire" trait, which increases the power of its Fire-type Techniques when its stamina is low, and the other being the Iron Fist trait, which is more aligned with Fighting Type attributes.
Logically, with Chimchar practicing its punches every day, the possibility of it having the "Iron Fist" trait seemed higher, but upon closer observation, it didn't seem so obvious.
Just as Natsuhiko was about to ask Chimchar what technique it had mastered,
he noticed it, after eating its fill and patting its belly, carefully taking a small, sharp stone shard, about the length of a finger, from the thick fur at the junction of flames and hair on its backside.
Then it held it in its mouth... to pick its teeth.
Seeing the shard, Natsuhiko and the Togetic beside it were stunned.
Natsuhiko and Togetic exchanged glances.
They recognized this shard!
Isn't this the Original Groudon Shell Fragments they've been searching for lately?
Even though this piece was much smaller, that feeling was unmistakable.
Such a precious shard, and the Chimchar was using it to pick its teeth?
If Groudon knew, would it burst out from the ground and give the Chimchar a Sword of the Cliff?
"Chimchar, this thing... where did you get it?" Natsuhiko couldn't help but ask.
