Chapter 238 - Chapter 222: Divine Envoy

The Count of the Undead, who had witnessed the entire execution of his teammate at close range, remained silent for a while.

Then he quietly retreated, shrinking back into the corner of the cell, sitting down with his knees hugged.

Since being brought into this dungeon, since being locked in this cage, not a day has gone by without him thinking of breaking free one day, to take revenge on the minions of these Evil Gods, to show them what happens when they offend the Count.

But now, for the first time in his life, he suddenly felt that this cage was actually pretty nice.

Though it wasn't exactly comfortable, it gave him a sense of security compared to the outside world.

The world outside was too terrifying.

Having dealt with the Demon Bishop who came to break the prison, Yugen clapped his hands, then turned to look at the Count of the Undead in the cell.

"Want to come out?" he asked.

The Count of the Undead shook his head desperately.

"No, no, it's fine here... haha."

He tried hard to squeeze out a smile, but his rotting zombie face turned it into a more horrifying grin, looking a bit foolish.

"Are you sure you don't want to come out?" Yugen coaxed, "Think it over, your comrades risked their lives to break you out. You won't get another chance if you miss it today."

The Count of the Undead continued shaking his head: "Not going out, no way I'm going out. It's great here, super comfortable, I really love it here."

"Oh, I see."

Yugen nodded.

Then he bent down, picking up the card deck from the deceased Demon Bishop, along with the key that had fallen to the ground.

The key turned in the lock, making a rattling sound.

Then the Count of the Undead widened his eyes as he watched the gate that had trapped him for who knows how long, now ironically serving as the last barrier between him and the demon... being unlocked.

The door slowly opened, and the demon with a sunny smile stepped in, whispering coldly: "If you're not coming out, then I'll come in."

The Count of the Undead trembled all over.

No, no, don't come in!

Recalling the miserable state of his teammate, who only managed to scrape off 200 points after using all his strength, only to end up dead in the opponent's inescapable trap...

A brief duel made the Count realize one thing. This opponent was far beyond his ability to handle.

And if he dared to play cards with this person, he would surely die a horrible death.

He quickly realized something even more terrifying...

"You..." He stared fixedly at the unfamiliar mechanical Duel Disc in the opponent's hand, "How can you use the power of cards here?"

Yugen was puzzled: "What's the problem with that?"

"There's supposed to be a barrier in every cage." The gaze from the Count of the Undead grew more suspicious, "To be able to use the power of cards within a barrier... who exactly are you?"

"This?"

Yugen sensed he had guessed something.

So, the power of elves is restricted in this cage, unable to summon a Duel Disc?

However, Yugen was not an elf, and his Duel Disc wasn't any elf magic.

Kaiba Technology, kid.

Yugen immediately understood. Oh, so you can't play cards in here.

Even better, it saves the trouble of the card duel. Without hesitation, he summoned Artificial Human Soga, directly launching a Telekinesis Shock to the Count's face.

"Aaaahhh!"

The power-sealed Count of the Undead was completely unable to resist, and the telekinetic energy wave blasted a hole in his chest, creating a delightfully gory scene, as his body gradually disintegrated into golden light, dissipating.

Predictably, after transforming into light particles, a card deck burst forth. It even included himself, the Five-Star Mortal Bone "Count of the Undead."

Yugen was very pleased, picking up the card deck and stowing it away.

By now, the chaotic sounds of battle outside had subsided. Shortly, a team of guards rushed in through the pierced hole of the bunker, quickly discovering the opened cell here.

"Hey, you there... stop!"

The guards nervously surrounded the broken-open cell.

Yugen leisurely walked out of the cell, facing the array of swords, spears, and halberds pointed at him.

"No need to be nervous."

He slowly pulled out a small green crystal.

The guards initially looked tense, but as they recognized the crystal in his hand, their expressions shifted from wary to confused, then to shock and fear.

A shard of Orichalcos. A shard allowed only for those at least of a regional leader's rank in the Elf Realm territory occupied by Orichalcos, serving also as proof of identity.

"You, you, you... are you...?"

The guards reluctantly lowered their weapons, trembling as they spoke. Some had knees that were already about to buckle, involuntarily wanting to kneel.

"On the same side." Yugen smiled, displaying then pocketing the shard.

Unexpectedly, a guard suddenly kneeled, shouting: "Great Envoy! Welcome, great Divine Envoy!"

Yugen: "?"

Huh?

Envoy? What envoy?

...

...

Back in the meeting room, with the same group of high-ups.

"This invasion was truly unexpected."

A demon high-up spoke with a lingering fear.

"Our bunker hasn't encountered prison raid attempts for a long time, and this time the enemy's organization and strength were remarkable. If it weren't for the warden's presence, it could have been truly dangerous."

The warden spoke gravely; "That Vampire Lord was extraordinary, matching me equally in battle. Moreover, he was cunning and ruthless, deserting his comrades in the bunker without hesitation when the situation turned grim to escape directly..."

The duels between us elves cause real damage but weren't Dark Duels. There's still a chance to flee during the duel if things go south.

The warden, concerned about the situation within the bunker, aimed only to drive the enemy away rather than secure a decisive victory. Thus, when the opposing side fled, they didn't pursue to capitalize. The Vampire Lord fled mid-duel, unscrewing and escaping.

"I didn't expect such a substantial resistance force to have already gathered nearby." A high-up coldly stated, "We haven't even started our approach on the Blood Race, but they're so eager to throw their lives away.

It seems it's time to show those foolish bloodsuckers the consequences of defying the True God."

"This matter could wait. More importantly,"

The warden leaned forward slightly, squinting, with a slight upward curve at the corner of his mouth.

"This prison raid uproar wasn't entirely a negative development."

"Why is that?" A demon asked in confusion.

"We were just talking before the meeting was interrupted about how a Divine Envoy was sent from above. The envoy could be anyone, we don't know who or where, only that we must remain cautious and restrained in our speech and actions.

But thanks to these blasphemous rebels' riot, the Divine Envoy stepped forward during the action, enabling us to learn of the envoy's true identity."

The high-ups immediately stirred.

"The Envoy has indeed arrived!?"
