"My turn, draw a card."
Once again, it's Yugen's turn.
"Activate the Magic Card 'Demon's Sanctuary,'" Yugen said, "Special Summon one 'Metal Demon Derivative' on my field."
The classic summoning array unfolded on the ground, and a small puppet made of silver metal was summoned at the center of the array.
[Metal Demon Derivative, Attack Power 0]
"Next, activate the Magic Card 'Sacrificial Puppet' from my hand," Yugen continued, "Release one monster on my field to Special Summon one Level 7 monster from my hand that can be normally summoned.
However, as a cost, the monster Special Summoned by this effect cannot attack.
I release the 'Metal Demon Derivative.'"
The small metal puppet on Yugen's field disintegrated into light particles and vanished from the field.
"Special Summon the Level 7 Demon from my hand, 'Phantom Demon Summoning God'!"
The creature had a slender skeletal structure forming its torso, with dark colored bones intertwined. The distinctive large bone wings unfolded horizontally, almost reaching three times the width of the torso, with bone wings made from translucent purple membranes, forming a stark visual contrast with the thin spine.
[Phantom Demon Summoning God, Attack Power 0]
Although it was a Level 7 monster with 0 attack power and named "Phantom Demon Summoning God," its appearance immediately brought a sense of urgency to everyone.
And their instinct about this crisis was soon proven to be necessary.
"Phantom Demon Summoning God's effect," Yugen said, "Release this card itself to add one 'Divine Flame Emperor Uriah,' 'Thunder Emperor Harmon,' or 'Phantom Demon Emperor Rabil' from the card deck or graveyard to the hand."
Yugen held up a card retrieved from the graveyard.
"Return 'Phantom Demon Emperor Rabil' from the graveyard to the hand."
Clero gritted his teeth: "It's been so hard to defeat that Phantom Demon Emperor..."
Jack: "But, the summoning of that Phantom Demon requires releasing three monsters, even if retrieved, it's not that easy to appear on the field!"
Yugen laughed, "That may not be the case."
Jack: "Nani?"
"Phantom Demon Summoning God's subsequent effect allows you to Special Summon one Flame Race, Thunder Race, or Demon Race Level 10 monster with equal attack and defense power from the hand, ignoring summoning conditions!"
All three: "!"
Flame, Thunder, and Demon Races, clearly correspond to Divine Flame Emperor, Thunder Emperor, and Phantom Demon Emperor, respectively. The restriction to Level 10 and equal attack and defense...
They could almost directly announce the ID numbers of these three brothers.
"Once more, let 'Phantom Demon Emperor Rabil' descend!!!"
The sky changed color, and blue energy burst forth like flames from the shattered crust. Phantom Demon's giant shadow rose with the ghostly fire, its giant claw smashing down onto the ground, causing the earth to tremble momentarily.
[Phantom Demon Emperor Rabil, Attack Power 4000]
Yusei said gravely, "To be able to manipulate Phantom Demons so skillfully..."
He had now seen that Three Phantom Demons possessed high attack suppression, absolute resistance to traps, and potent effects. But these were not the most crucial points; the key was that these three had myriad tricks to revive repeatedly.
Even if exerting all efforts and managing to defeat them, they might very well return to the field in the next turn.
Clero: "Phantom Demons, what terrifying entities are they really..."
"It's too early to be surprised," Yugen said with a smile, "Next, activate the effect of 'Phantom Demon Emperor Rabil - Celestial Tyranny Fist' in the graveyard.
Once per turn, if this card exists in the graveyard, it can return to the hand by releasing one monster on the field."
The crowd: "!"
Celestial Tyranny Fist, named after Phantom Demon Emperor's fatal move, a terrifying card with an ability to instantly double Phantom Demon Emperor's power to eight thousand and possess multiple attack capabilities.
It even has a self-retrieval ability!
In such a case, this card practically becomes an extension of Phantom Demon Emperor's own effect. It's as if Phantom Demon Emperor Rabil has acquired "Once per turn, release a monster on the field to double its attack power and attack all opponent's monsters on the field."
"And once more, the effect of Field Spell 'Lost Paradise,'" Yugen said, "Once per turn, if Phantom Demon exists on the field, you can draw two cards from the deck."
Yugen drew two more cards.
"Battle!" Yugen exclaimed, "Phantom Demon Emperor Rabil attacks 'Black Feather Black Spear Blaster'!"
Phantom Demon Emperor began to gather power, ghostly blue energy converging onto its right fist, transforming into a punch that shattered the void.
"Clero!" Yusei couldn't help but shout.
Phantom Demon Emperor's attack power was 4000, while Black Spear Blaster's attack power was 1700, theoretically causing 2300 battle damage, leaving a sliver of remaining life. But everyone hadn't forgotten the "Celestial Tyranny Fist" that Yugen just retrieved.
At damage calculation, if Celestial Tyranny Fist was discarded, Phantom Demon Emperor's attack power would explode to eight thousand points in an instant. And the trio's Life Points were only 2600; this punch would easily be a one-hit kill!
Clero shouted: "Ahaha, but my full power isn't just limited to this!
Activate Cover Card, Trap Card 'Destructive Medicine'!
By destroying a monster on my field, I recover Life Points equal to that monster's attack power!"
Clero took a deep breath.
"Forgive me, Black Feathers..."
He raised his arm high.
"I will destroy 'Black Spear Blaster' to recover Life Points equal to its attack power!"
Boom!
Black Spear exploded under the red glow of the trap, releasing a mist of blood absorbed wholly into Clero's body.
[Clero/Jack/Yusei, LP2600→ LP4300]
Off the field, Leo said: "Ah, Clero had to personally destroy his own Black Feathers..."
"But this is fine," Qiu Jie said, "Although Phantom Demon Emperor has eight thousand attack power and can attack continuously, manually destroying Black Spear Blaster first leaves Phantom Demon Emperor with no target to hit."
Yusei also added, "Indeed. With Black Spear Blaster released, the only monster left on our field is 'Black Feather Armored Wings.'"
"Exactly!" Clero said, "Armored Wings is an invincible-in-battle monster, even if attacked, it won't be harmed!
Protect our bonds, Armored Wings!"
"Haha, not bad, using Armored Wings' ability to block again," Yugen said, "Then I'll set two cards face-down and end my turn."
Jack: "My turn, draw a card!"
"Activate Magic Card 'Adversity's Treasure Scroll.' If you have no monsters on the field while the opponent has Special Summoned monsters, draw two cards from the deck!"
Jack drew two cards rapidly but his expression changed slightly upon seeing the cards in his hand.
This card...
