One would expect those words to floor Kassie, and Maggie at least should have flinched. But strangely, both of them just sat there, silent.
Not even a word.
And after I blurted the words out, a loud silence stretched for a dozen seconds. Before Kassie finally spoke.
"We figured that much out. We know, and are already used to, how perverted you are. That is one thing you are not going to lose, it seems. Even now, your genuineness to yourself leaves me rather speechless."
'That's Kassie for you.'
"You said you want to feel loved by us. Are you sure that is what you want?"
I held Kassie's gaze and started to speak, but she cut in before I could.
"We are women who have slaughtered, who believed we were right in our own evil, who grew comfortable in it and became the most atrocious existence walking for millennia. And you want to feel loved, by bloodthirsty murderers like us. I must do all but commend your taste. Cade."
I gave her one shameless grin.
