There was no time for ignorance. The only thing that stayed on my mind was the fact that she needed to survive at all costs.
So I ran and ran, giving no care to what my nose perceived. The thing was, no matter how disgusted I was by the smell, it wasn't enough to make me feel like I was weakening or losing my mind.
The urge to vomit my very stomach out was there, but it didn't feel threatening. And it was no surprise, after all. I had layers of attributes protecting me from mental attacks like that.
Eventually, I saw the lake not too far ahead, and I stumbled right into it. Relief washed over me, causing Ilse to spill out of my hand and tumble away, with me following right behind her.
Not caring about the gruesome little scratches covering the surface of my skin and elbows, I laid back on the ground and stared at the roof of the cave, breathing hard, my heart swollen with relief.
"Ilse! Ilse! Can you hear me?!"
