Everything blurred. My vision, my senses, everything went blank as something that was no different from the rocky walls drove into me and sent me flying in the opposite direction. I slammed my head against the rock, something ringing somewhere inside my skull, and then I crumbled to the ground.
I wasn't sure how many minutes or seconds I was out for. But eventually, I tried to stand up. My head felt empty and heavy at the same time, and for some reason, it was in a moment like that that my stomach decided to growl with intense hunger.
Of all things.
I managed to shove that thought away as I pushed myself upright. Blood ran down my face, blurring my vision slightly, but even then, I could see what was in front of me. It wasn't so small and insignificant that I wouldn't be able to see it.
"Of course… your ride-or-die buddy."
I actually felt a bit envious as I muttered.
