Si-Hun froze.
"Fuck…"
Minjun raised one of his brows slightly.
"What…happened?''
"…Uhh…I actually bruised my knuckles. I do boxing…"
"Really?" Minjun asked, his tone a little tipsy.
"Yeah, yeah…"
"Be careful, then…" He said.
"But…may I ask why you are here?"
"Ahh…our men are currently investigating the sites, and we were just wrapping up.
We were asking a few more questions, and you just came here, so I wondered if you had any information…"
"Oh…, no I don't…"
Even though he could investigate further, he didn't…cause he knew what he needed to know.
"…I'll leave, then."
He said and left from there, leaving Si-Hun's eyes dark.
"He left…but took something with him," Si-Hun whispered to Kuro, who was tense.
"I just hope he doesn't pay that much attention…tchhh!"
"Don't worry," Si-Hun said, and stared towards the door.
He grabbed a bottle of cold water from the fridge and drank some ounces.
"Ahh…Finally, peace." He said as he relaxed.
"I'll go to bed." Saying this, he went to his bedroom.
He lay on his bed, one arm over his forehead, the other lying across the bed.
"Why does life have to throw such moments at THE wrong moments?" He thought and groaned low.
Just then, his screen popped with a message from someone.
He lazily picked it up.
[Su-Yeon POV]
"I'm sorry I forgot to send you the timings…I usually leave at 10 and return at 4. See you tomorrow!! ^_^" She texted him, leaning against her washing machine.
The sound was tearing apart the unusual silence.
[Si-Hun's POV]
"Silly." Si-Hun thought, a smile tugging at his lips.
"No worries. I'll be outside at 10."
Another message popped.
"Got it. I won't keep you waiting in the cold!"
"He's…with me tomorrow. I don't want Hyun-Woo talking to me again. I trust him." She thought.
[Back to Si-Hun's POV]
Si-Hun read it but didn't reply, just scoffed softly, the smile still there.
He slept after the messaging.
His alarm rang at 9:30.
He got up slowly and ran a hand through his hair.
After getting out of bed, he had breakfast with a cup of coffee.
He wore his leather jacket and took his bike's keys, and informed Kuro he was leaving.
"Off to where?" Kuro spoke.
"Just some business."
"Whatever. Take care of your business." Kuro said.
"Sure." Si-Hun thought.
"He thinks this much of one person." Kuro thought.
Si-Hun was leaning against his bike, waiting for her, when he saw someone running in a hurry.
"She's 5 minutes early and still running," Si-Hun said to himself with a low chuckle.
"I hope I'm not late. I slept late too last night, ugh!" She spoke.
She reached him.
"Did I make you wait?" She said, out of breath.
"No." He said calmly.
"Breathe out. You're 5 minutes early."
"What? Aishh, I jogged all the way here!"
Si-Hun chuckled and got on the bike.
"Sit," Si-Hun said.
She sat behind him.
She was nervous when he was so near her.
He started the bike.
Her hands automatically found their way to his torso and gripped his jacket there.
She always held that, and it always made his breath hitch.
"She's…comfortable, that's a relief." He thought as he felt her leaning in.
He was focused on the road when he suddenly felt something warm against his back, her small frame.
He gripped his handles a little tighter.
"She slept on the bike!?" He thought in surprise.
"It's cold here…"
She was clinging to him subconsciously, her cheek pressed against his broad back.
Si-Hun gasped.
He was careful not to go over any bumpy road, but she woke up.
After she realized that she had "dozed off against him, her cheeks turned bright red.
"OH NO!! WHAT DID YOU DO SU-YEON!! HE MUST THINK I'M CARELESS, BUT I CAN'T HELP IT!!"
She was flustered to the soul.
Sleeping against him like that? Totally DRASTIC!
He felt his back lighter and knew she had woken up and was feeling embarrassed.
"You…slept right here." He said, composed but amused.
"Y-yeah…I didn't know when…I just felt tired."
She quickly replied, trying to hide her voice, embarrassed.
They reached their university after a few minutes.
Her friends saw her with someone they had never seen before.
Si-Hun stopped his bike, and she jumped off.
"T-thank you for the ride, Si-Hun.'' She said, trying to stay calm when her insides were betraying her.
Si-Hun noticed her flusteration and smirked – just to himself.
"Stay safe. Tell me if anyone's bothering you, okay? No need to be scared." He said, his tone serious yet gentle.
She nodded softly.
"I'll be off, bye!" She said to him.
"…Bye."
"We're just…neighbors, but why does it feel like we've known each other for so long?" He thought as he watched her join her friends.
He saw her off until she entered the university gate and then left.
"She's safe." He reminded himself.
[The police station]
"I knew it! That guy screamed suspicion from the start." Baek Hyeon said, slamming his fist on the table.
"We're gonna need to keep him under our eyes now.
"Find a way to get close to him, Minjun."
Minjun's eyes darkened.
"I know just the right thing to do…" He said, smirking.
