Pov: Third person's
After Vik collided the two energies inside his body, something amazing happened in the outside world. For Vik, who had lost consciousness, this was unknown. A red aura began to form around him. The skeleton of Chakor, which had only reacted to Vik's strange fire, started glowing. As if energized, it released a golden aura that was purer than any gold, creating a harmony with Vik's aura.
The skeleton flowed onto Vik's lap, slowly changing shape until it turned into an arrow-shaped weapon made of bones. Vik then opened his eyes, but they lacked any glow; it was as if he were still unconscious while his body worked.
When he woke up, he grasped the arrow in his hands. At that moment, a chirping sound echoed in the environment, causing the thundering clouds and restless wind to fall silent. Meanwhile, a certain dragon who considered himself immortal almost lost control in the clouds.
Pov: Vik
I think I am in a deep sleep, or should I say I am awake now? I don't know what to call this feeling; it's some state between sleep and wakefulness. I feel like I am in limbo. I don't know how long I have been here—maybe a few seconds, maybe eons.
Soon, my senses return. I can see my surroundings. I am in a dark place with no light, the same void I usually see when I do something drastic. But this time, I see birds around me. I recognize them; they belong to Chakor's species. The world around me soon brightens, revealing distant stars and celestial objects. The birds fly through space as if it were normal air. This scene is magical, as if it came straight from a fantasy.
Among those birds, one stands out most. It has golden feathers at the tip of its head. It sees me and flies toward me, landing on my head while chirping. In that moment, I once again witness Chakor's story, but this time from his perspective. I feel like I am doing everything, as if I am Chakor.
I feel his longing for the moon, his heartbreak when he sees the true state of the moon. I recognize that true heaven in this world is my own home, the Azure Mountains. I experience the dread when the first catastrophic event occurs in the world. I feel the spiritual energy altering the laws of this world.
I even feel the strength grow within me as Chakor cultivates Prana energy instead of spiritual energy for the first time. I see that dragon, Gullnor, coming to the world using a Heavenly bead to bend the laws and devour everything. I feel heartbroken when Chakor, no, when
I have to flee from the Azure Mountains due to Gullnor.
I feel joy when the world's voice reaches me. I experience the thrill of fighting Gullnor to a standstill. After that, I feel utterly broken when the world's will betrays me. My own world has betrayed me. I feel hope vanish as Gullnor captures every bird of my species, imprisoning us in space to die.
I watch my species become extinct, realizing I am the only one left in that cold space, surrounded by celestial bodies, gazing at Earth, close to the moon I once desired. I have only one thought: to reclaim my home.
At that moment, while viewing Chakor's story, I fully become Chakor. I am in a confused state when a voice in my head claims that I am Chakor, the bird that flew to the moon. Another voice reminds me that I am Vik, a human from Earth who has reincarnated as a snake.
But at this point, I become both. My only goal is to kill that dragon, Gullnor, and reclaim my home. With that thought, everything ceases to exist—the space filled with stars, the flying birds, Chakor and me—all become nothingness. With that, I open my eyes.
I am still in the catacombs, looking at Chakor's skeleton. The only difference is that the skeleton is no longer in front of me; instead, an arrow made from those bones lies in my lap. Slowly, I move my hands to take it, examining it closely. This is not just an arrow made of bones; it is a mark, a symbol of Chakor's selfless sacrifice. It is the only reminder that long ago, a bird without the bloodlines of a Phoenix or great eagles defied every law of the world and flew to the moon.
Looking at the arrow, I smile. At this moment, I feel a strong connection with the memories, or perhaps the soul of Chakor. I sense that at some point, I was Chakor. Maybe it's possible that I am a reincarnation of Chakor from a previous life. If reincarnation can happen once, it can happen multiple times.
Holding the arrow, I walk out of the crumbling catacombs. As I emerge, I see the Azure Mountains. There is a noticeable difference between Chakor's memories of them and the current mountains, as a thousand years have passed since then. Still, a strong sense of familiarity washes over me, as if I have returned home.
With this thought, I take in the beautiful scenery. The only ugly aspect is the miasma covering it. I frown and say, "This dragon is polluting my home. I need to plant a few more trees in this forest. Maybe using the dragon's corpse as fertilizer will help the plants. I need to give this a try."
With that thought, I look at the sky where a massive sword made of thunder, as large as a hill, moves toward me with deadly intent. Behind that sword is Gullnor, his expression serious; he wants to kill me at any cost. But all I see in his eyes is fear—fear of death.
I do not react to that sword, which grows larger and larger, the lightning around it turning from purple to gold. I do not fear it. Instead, I smile at Gullnor and say, "Hey, you overgrown lizard, I already told you; if you want my home, then I will bury you in my backyard."
