Chapter 26 - 26. Homecoming Festival.

Meanwhile, back at Vivian's castle, night had fallen over the floating citadel, and the rays of moonlight filtered into the palace corridors as everyone finished dinner and began to retire for the night.

Marie and her apprentices, including the mirror demon, had all returned to the capital city with two huge bags of gold coins.

The rich centaur had practically been drooling as she lifted the gold coins into her carriage.

She was always happy whenever her richest customer summoned her to the castle, and today had been no different.

She would certainly be swimming in a mountain of gold coins once she returned home.

Meanwhile, Lily was currently walking beside her mother as her small hands clutched the edge of her new dress.

She recalled everything that had happened today and how her mother had made today extra special.

It made the little princess happy as she smiled while glancing toward Vivian. "Mama?"

"Yes, dear?"

"I have so many clothes now, and they're way more than I have ever had before."

Vivian simply smiled gently then asked in response. "Did you like the dresses?"

"Yes, I loved all of them!! Thank you so much."

"You're welcome, dear." Vivian brushed a strand of Lily's crimson hair behind her ear, then turned toward Aster who thanked her as well.

She patted his head gently before saying. "Alright, it's time for both of you to get some rest. Tomorrow, I'll be giving your big brother his first history lesson."

"What's that?" Lily asked.

"Well, your big brother wants to know more about this world and Mommy can't wait to teach him everything she knows, but we'll take it slow first because this world is really big and its history isn't something that can be learnt in a day."

"Wow, Mama wants to teach big brother something about this world?"

"Ufufufu, that's what I just said." Vivian giggled softly as she tapped her daughter's nose, causing the little girl to giggle as well.

"Hehehe… Can I join in too?"

"Hmm, you can, once you're a little older. But Mama won't stop you if you want to join us tomorrow."

"Yay!!!" Lily cheered, raising both hands over her head as they stepped into their mother's bedroom.

Vivian smiled even more, but as she gestured for them to climb onto the bed, her expression suddenly changed when she noticed something different.

Her eyes moved towards the window and she squinted them before a knowing smile graced her lips.

Aster noticed this and asked. "What's funny?"

Vivian brought her gaze back to him and held his hand, along with that of Lily's before pulling them gently to the balcony. "I want you two to come take a look at something."

"What is it?" Lily asked as she followed her mother onto the balcony, but Vivian didn't say anything else.

She simply knelt behind them, before placing her hands on their backs, and once again, her hands glowed faintly, causing both Aster and Lily to feel a warmth surge into their bodies, and before they knew it, both siblings suddenly felt their souls being pulled toward the city underneath the citadel.

But in reality, they were still on Vivian's balcony.

However, their range of view had been pulled toward the capital city, causing the mouths of both Aster and Lily to unwittingly fall open in surprise.

Vivian's hands continued to glow faintly against their backs as Aster and Lily's range of view extended far beyond the castle.

The siblings felt like they were soaring through the night sky as they glanced down at the entire capital city, almost like a drone hovering in the air.

Aster and Lily's eyes widened in awe when they saw the streets of the city filled with demons of all kinds.

There were fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, and each of them was holding a glowing lantern in their hand with smiles on their faces.

Some demons released their lanterns into the sky as they watched the lights drift upward and slowly fill up the dark clouds like a field of colorful stars.

While others placed their lanterns in the canals that flowed through the city, allowing the glowing lights to float gently over the water's surface, creating a trail of gold and crimson ripples that spread across the city.

Now, the entire city looked bright and beautiful, and both Aster and Lily couldn't take their eyes off the scenery.

"Wow," Lily whispered softly as her small hand gently clutched her mother's dress. "Mom? What are they doing?"

She asked and Vivian smiled as she replied. "They're preparing for a festival, sweetie."

"A festival? What kind of festival?" Aster asked with a curious look on his face.

"A homecoming festival," Vivian replied softly as she placed both of her hands on their shoulders. "Your royal subjects are welcoming you home, my little dragons. And so is Mama."

"So, welcome home, my little dragons, because now, your royal subjects have officially recognized you both as their future rulers."
