Chapter 364 - Chapter 89: Under Attack_5

The enemy was clearly caught off guard for a moment before realizing there was a sniper, hurriedly starting to move in a zigzag pattern, and someone immediately began analyzing the sniper's position based on the bullet trajectory.

Pira burst into laughter over the team's voice channel.

[Pira: Awesome! Absolutely awesome! Damn it, I want to take down all those Demon Lizards!]

[Mercer: Don't go crazy, their armor can't be taken down even by missiles!]

Stout couldn't help but lick her lips as she watched, her voice tinged with complexity, "Ha, you even prepared a sniper for me?"

"Just in case, it never hurts to be prepared, right? And... how did you manage to not know that such a huge Demon Lizard was following behind you?"

As Mercer spoke, he began activating his Exoskeleton, powering it up.

The tech specialist seized the moment to fasten the last arm in place, securing the armor's connection points.

"I suspect someone placed a tracking device on my car in advance or God knows where else."

Stout analyzed coldly, giving Mercer a glare, "I'll find that guy when I get back. And... don't you dare call me an old woman!"

"You better not screw up again." Mercer stared at her unyieldingly, "Now you owe me a life!"

"..." Stout gritted her teeth, unable to refute.

"Done!"

The tech specialist finally released his grip, sweating profusely, his prosthetic eye tools overheating as he complained, "Damn Arasaka, a 2072 exoskeleton still requires manual screw tightening?"

"Ha, don't you know what craftsmanship is?"

Mercer said as he stood up, his figure remarkably tall in the Exoskeleton.

There were as many as eight people packed into the van, especially a few burly ones, making it incredibly cramped.

When Mercer bent over and stood up, the others were even more inclined to cram together.

"Slow down!" He decisively ordered the agent to decelerate.

The agent glanced at him, saying nothing as he hit the brakes.

When the speed dropped to a certain level, Mercer jumped out of the vehicle.

As soon as he landed, the mech clumsily nearly stumbled, but as Mercer activated the Synaptic Accelerator, he quickly adjusted, and the compressed jet device behind him suddenly spewed flames, soaring into the sky.

The distant Demon Lizard suddenly opened fire.

This time, Mercer dared not recklessly attempt to stop the bullets with a magnetic field—this canon-level bullet; he doubted Arasaka's Gravity Device could halt them.

But the missile launched by either Lucy or Qiwei made a great contribution—the Demon Lizard with a damaged engine couldn't ascend, so when Mercer quickly gained altitude, the heavy cannon mounted in front of it lost its aim.

However, the vehicle-mounted machine gun followed, but Mercer was not afraid of the power of a machine gun.

He carved a distinct trajectory through the air, the blue jet flames making him look like a high-speed moving blue comet.

In just a few seconds, he collided with the distant armored team, both rushing towards each other.

Mercer's priority was dealing with the Military Science's Demon Lizard—although this vehicle was somewhat disabled, if given a chance, one cannon shot could potentially knock Mercer out of the sky.

Like a god descending, this time without worrying about damaging equipment, Mercer exerted full force on the Gravity Cannon, nearly grounding the Demon Lizard with a single shot.

At the cracked ground's center, the engine of the grounded Demon Lizard was still buzzing, yet Mercer only aimed at the Demon Lizard, suspended in mid-air, pulling the trigger repeatedly.

Once, twice, three times, until the Demon Lizard's engine ceased to function.

From the outside, the Demon Lizard still appeared quite intact, but Mercer knew full well—the people inside were already dead.

The reason Arasaka regarded this Exoskeleton as an armor killer was primarily due to this Gravity Weapon's destructive power against personnel.

The gravity pressure a machine could withstand might not necessarily be bearable by human bodies and electronic components. Even modified organs could rupture and explode under sudden pressure.

Mercer extended his hand, creating an invisible barrier intercepting the bullets in mid-air, freezing them before him, and then, without wasting power, he leaped, heading towards other armored vehicles.

Each time the Gravity Cannon emitted a buzzing sound with a blue gleam, the ground would acquire a new circular crater. The Demon Lizard could withstand it, but these armored vehicles couldn't.

Mercer only needed to maneuver swiftly to the armored vehicle's front, pull the trigger, and these armored vehicles would be crushed, turning into a heap of scrap metal in the pit.

Only then did the Military Science tech expert, poking his head out of the van, take a deep breath, "Holy... Damn Arasaka, they've truly developed something remarkable this time."

"How would this be valued according to the headquarters' rating?" Stout, uninterested in technical issues, asked with a grim expression about the value of this Exoskeleton.

"No problem, just the combat footage recorded by my prosthetic eye should suffice to convince the higher-ups that this thing is enough to recover our losses... though I don't particularly like this way of calculating." The tech expert sighed.

Stout breathed a slight sigh of relief, then her prosthetic eye flashed, quickly contacting her old leaders within the company.

She likely already guessed who was messing with her—it wasn't difficult to deduce who was eager to recuperate losses now, had the authority to deploy the Demon Lizard, and the ability to track her?
