Chapter 375 - Chapter 83: Beyond Words

What's the matter with matching or not, Rhode didn't believe Mira's words at all. Wouldn't he be able to see if the necklace looked good after she put it on?

Ever since deciding to save money together with him, Mira's spending habits have changed.

Whenever she encounters something she likes, she always hesitates for a long time; as long as it's not a necessity, she'll decide to put it aside, and if the price is too high, she'll simply give up.

A girl who wholeheartedly considers the future for the two of them, how could he not cherish her?

Although this would slightly affect the savings progress, people can't only think about the future. At this moment, right now, this second, Rhode couldn't wait for her to be happy.

Mira doubted whether Rhode had really learned Magic from Wolian and could see through her thoughts, knowing what she really liked or not.

But Mira felt it shouldn't be like that. Just like the bag he gave her when they went to the Royal Capital, Rhode was simply paying attention to her.

This makes it difficult for her to continue acting as 'her old self'...

Mira bit her lip, pushed the necklace box into Rhode's arms, and let out a deliberate hum: "Do I have to put it on myself?"

Even cuter.

Rhode unfolded the necklace and looked at Mira.

Mira turned around, lifted her hair with her back facing Rhode, waiting for him to help her put it on.

Hmph, straight girl.

Rhode deliberately got up, moved in front of Mira, and circled her neck under her surprised gaze.

The designer of the necklace mustn't have thought clearly; such a tiny clasp and ring were particularly difficult to fasten.

Mira could feel his fingers occasionally touching her neck, and the warm breath from his nose and mouth blew on her ear and neck.

Her ears started to turn red.

Finally, when he managed to hook the necklace, Mira felt a kiss on her neck.

She glanced nervously towards the kitchen; although it was a normal intimate action, she still didn't want her family to see it.

When she turned to look at Rhode, he was seriously watching her, sincerely saying: "As expected, it looks great."

With the blush on her cheeks, it looked even better.

Along with today's attire, the bold outfit matched with a shy expression, the contrast was fantastic.

After tidying up the kitchen, Elfman figured it out. It was likely his sister's mischievous sense of humor, rather than completely going back to how she used to be.

Rhode slipped into the kitchen before Mira could blurt out complaints, urging Elfman to help him bring out the plates.

After setting up the table, Elfman also pulled out a small box to give to Mira.

Inside was a bottle of perfume.

Mira happily accepted it. It was already nice that her brother didn't give her a dumbbell, proving he hadn't completely turned into muscle-brain.

Rhode used Text Magic with his fingertips to light the '19'-shaped candles on the cake.

"Make a wish?"

"Make a wish, sis."

"Hmm." Mira closed her eyes under the gaze of the two, clasping her hands in front of her chest and seriously making a wish.

A smile slowly appeared on her lips, then she opened her eyes and blew out the candles.

Bang! Bang!

Two soft noises sounded from behind, Mira turned around and saw colorful ribbons and confetti falling all around.

Rhode and Elfman each held a party popper, with beaming smiles: "Happy Birthday!"

"Thank you!" Mira's smile was as bright as the sun, "I'm so happy, truly happy."

She picked up a knife and made a symbolic cut on the cake, then divided it into three small pieces for each of them to taste a little bit.

The main thing was still to eat dinner.

The three of them clinked their glasses, in the splashes of wine were their expectations for the future.

...

After a short break post-dinner, the three of them went to the Guild together as per Mira's wish.

They left a bit of the unfinished cake to make dessert, and the rest they planned to take to the Guild to share with everyone.

Mira kept her current outfit when going out, only adding a small sun-protection jacket.

The familiar look evoked memories from two years ago for many, and those who had been punched in the past during chaotic fights were especially startled.

It wasn't until Mira, smiling brightly, handed out the cake to everyone that they realized she was still the same Mira, only occasionally changing back to an old look.

It probably also meant she was fully accepting her past.

Some who felt sympathetic towards Rhode quickly started to feel envious.

Mira's fiery outfit now paired with such a gentle personality, Rhode was really lucky.

The way the two of them, side by side, were giving out the cake to everyone, it was reminiscent of handing out wedding sweets to friends after a marriage.

However, they could only bite down hard on the cake; some tasted sweetness, others tasted sourness.

"Happy Birthday!"

Mira received one blessing after another, and together with Rhode, thanked everyone.

Though it wasn't an official birthday celebration at the Guild, no one minded using 'Happy Birthday Mira' as a reason to have a toast.

After the hustle and bustle, there was still a busy workload ahead.

At the current progress rate, they were about half a month away from reaching a milestone. With the renovations moving quickly, the new Guild could be fully completed by mid-September.

In just less than two months, completing a three-story building with an additional rooftop clock tower, including a basement and front and back courtyard renovations, was already quite efficient.

Thanks to everyone working overtime and the President's wise leadership (meaning he worked at the forefront while handing off miscellaneous tasks).

After a busy day, it was finally time to clock out.

The two of them stayed at the Guild to wrap things up, then did their daily meditation practice.

Elfman chose to practice at home by himself rather than join them in the fun.

Upon finishing their practice, Mira stretched lazily.

Rhode quietly watched from the side; the demon was disrupting his Dao heart.

If someone else looked at her like that, they might get reprimanded, but when Rhode looked at her that way, she only felt happy.

Mira hugged Rhode's arm: "Let's go."

"Before going home, let me take you somewhere first."

Mira didn't even ask where: "Alright."

A few minutes later, Mira looked at the familiar building in front of her and asked, "Is the place you mentioned your house?"

"Of course, it's not just that."

Rhode picked Mira up and jumped twice onto the rooftop, putting her down: "Wait for me a moment."

In the dim light, Mira only saw him jump down, take something out, and put it on the ground.

Then a slight flame lit up. Rhode returned to the rooftop, wrapped his arms around Mira's waist: "Ready, here it comes."

Whoosh~~~ Bang!

Even though she guessed what it was when she saw the light, Mira still showed a delighted expression when the first firework soared into the sky.

Whoosh~ Whoosh~ Whoosh~

The gorgeous colorful fireworks lit up a small part of the night sky, also illuminating their faces.

"So beautiful!"

Mira leaned against Rhode's embrace, watching the beautiful fireworks constantly shoot into the sky, as if she could see their happy future.

When the last firework ascended, Mira turned around, wrapped her arms around Rhode's neck, and initiated a kiss.

Rhode brought her leg onto his lap, one hand gently caressing her over-the-knee socks, while the other hand went underneath her arms.

Mira didn't mind his little actions; more so, she had started to enjoy them more and more recently.

After a while of kissing, it reached the inevitable awkward moment.

Mira felt something poking her leg, but instead of pulling away, she held Rhode even tighter, her leg... moved slightly.

Rhode's heartbeat seemed to skip a beat, his breathing instantly became heavier. Although pretending to be calm, he held Mira more tightly.

He wanted to carry Mira downstairs.

Mira stopped Rhode, but she gently bit her lip, her leg brushed again slightly.

Rhode held her leg tighter, locking eyes with her.

In the exchange of gazes, the two reached an unspoken agreement. Mira's face was already completely red.
