Hello guys, KaoSly here. Sorry for the VERY late update. Due to living in Jamaica we recently suffered a Category 5 hurricane that ravaged most of the country. Due to this I was without electricity, internet and water for months. I am safe and was able to make a quick chapter. Thank you for your continued support.
Seito stands as he watches Layla's new form, interested, but he never lets his guard down. He stares her down then takes his sword stance, where he holds the sword at his right hip side being held by both hands. Slowly he starts walking to her. Step by step. Left foot, right foot. The whole stadium was silent. You could hear a pin drop, everyone waiting to see what happened next.
Seito suddenly stops and uses a burst of speed making him faster than the eye can track as he rushes towards Layla. Instantaneously he was in front of her. His bicep muscles tenses as the grip on his sword is tightened. He swings, everyone thought that was it, exam over. But…
"There's no way…", a random student states.
She blocked it with the bow. Seito jumps back.
"So you're not terrible…. Doesn't mean you're good.", remarks Seito.
"You'll regret opening that mouth of yours."
Layla aims the bow at Seito and starts to pull the string back in her direction. She holds it still, the string not even shivering. A bright light starts to appear at the tip of the arrow, the colour pink. It was a pink magic arrow that she was aiming at Seito.
"Hmm."
"Careful, Seito.", says Belze.
"Archer magic…."
Seito gets on guard.
"Bullseye."
She releases the bow string and the arrow is now sailing straight at Seito. He simply stands a little to the left as the arrow whizz past him. He looks at Layla while giving her a smirk "You missed."
She stood there, looking at him but she said nothing.
"MOVE FOOL!", shouted Belze.
Seito, surprised at Belze's outburst, turned and couldn't believe what he saw. The arrow that had just missed him was coming back at great speed. He began running around but the arrow kept picking up speed, heading wherever he went.
"This is annoying!"
He drew a halt and turned to face the arrow. He swings the Sin sword and destroys Layla's magic arrow.
"Credit given where credit is due", Layla tells him, while she slowly claps.
"Hmm" Seito runs at her with the sword and takes a few slashes at her. He swings but she blocks all of them. During Seito's last swing she dodges to his right and immediately counter attacks by hitting him in the gut with the bow which sends Seito flying into the barrier and onto the ground.
"Hmm, not so tough huh."
Seito picks himself up and starts brushing the dirt off his clothes.
"That was just the warm up.", she tells him.
Seito stops in place and takes a deep breath. "In that case, I'll show you something amazing."
Black aura began to engulf his arm.
"This feeling. Are you…", she said to herself as she stood there, petrified.
Seito sets his body forward in a slanted position and puts the sword on his right side and holds it as if it was a sword still in its sheath.
"Grim Reaper –"
Hell's flame appears around the sword.
Layla who was dazed finally snaps out of it.
"Huh… oh no."
She holds the bow forward to release another spell. As she begins to draw the string back.
"Demon Scythe!"
He quickly appears in front of Layla and cuts straight through the bow like it was a myth. As he was about to cut her-
"Time!!", shouts Lamia, who was to the side of the podium, calling that the time for the battle had come to a past.
The barrier slowly starts to dissipate. "Hmm… already?", says Seito, still with the Sin sword at Layla's side. He gets up and starts to walk away from her. The fang mark disappears and the Sin sword de-materialize.
"He cut straight through the bow. It was reinforced with magic to manage the immense power of the magic arrows and he cut through it like it was nothing.", she says looking down on the two pieces of her bow she tightly held, shivering lightly. She looks up at him walking away nonchalantly,
"And that feeling from before, it couldn't be."
"Thank you Mr. Ken and Ms. Muchi.", says Lamia.
"No problem. It was fun, Layla." Seito bows at her.
"You insolent little….."
"And finally. Jen Chocore and Lans Mexster."
After the final fight, the second part of the exam concludes. All students and faculty started to get busier, talking, making rumors and predictions.
"Be here tomorrow at 9 for the results."
The next day arrived and everyone was in front of the school awaiting their results. The Student Council President slowly walks out.
"Thank you everyone. Yesterday you left it all on the stage to showcase why you are this country's future. Unfortunately, not everyone's chance is today, but for those who have, welcome, the work starts now."
Goosebumps. That is what everyone felt after she finished her speech. They were excited. She pulls out a scroll from behind her back and starts to read off names. One by one she called names while the students jumped for joy or fell to their knees in relief.
"And finally."
Many students, who still hadn't heard their name, began to fret. Cold sweat ran over their bodies. Were they going to be going home like this? Most notably the 2 standouts who left a strong impression were still waiting. Seito Ken and Layla Muchi.
"Ohhh.", says Seito while rubbing his chin.
"Oh no. I wasn't able to show my true potential." Layla started to feel disheartened.
"Seito Ken."
"YES!" Seito rejoiced. "No…" Layla, disheartened.
A male teacher then comes up to the president from behind and whispers something in her ear.
"Understood. ahem…. According to a last minute decision, Layla Muchi, you are also accepted."
"I-I…. I was a last minute pick….. Because of….. Him! I'll never forgive him.", she says to herself. "As well as...", she continued as she clenched her first.
BOOOSSSSSHHHH!!!!
A big explosion occurs in a small section of trees on the school campus.
"What is that? All of you get to safety!", shouts Lamia at the students. She turns and runs in the direction of the explosion while the teachers guide the students towards the inner section of the school.
"You're going aren't you?", Belze asks Seito.
"Of course."
He runs in the same direction as the explosion and the Student Council President.
"Of course you are. I'm stupid for asking", he says as he facepalms.
The President is quick but he manages to keep up with her. When he reaches he sees her and this random man clad in a full black robe. He decided to hide behind some trees and assess the situation. He is wearing a black, full body robe, had brown hair, a tattoo of a black snake under his right eye, a piercing in his nose and earrings in both ears.
"Who are you?", Lamia asks the suspicious man.
"The name's Kamezaki. I serve Black Snake and I am here to spice up your life keke", he stated while sticking out his tongue.
"Black Snake? What are you talking about?"
"Don't think about it too hard kitten, soon you'll be dead heh."
He takes out a gun from his side and points it at her.
"Belze, get ready."
"Yes."
"Your rudeness will not go down lightly.", she states.
"Water Knight."
Lamia's clothes begin to change. Her school uniform turned into blue, full body armour with a water sword. Her once golden hair was now sky blue covered by a helmet.
She stands ready to fight.
"Woah!" Seito stands amazed, once again mesmerized by her beauty.
"Hahahe, nice armor, but this isn't a regular gun.", he tells her while dangling it.
"Hm?"
"It's a gun which uses…". He looks serious after he says this as he stares her down.
He shoots a bullet at Lamia.
"Explosion magic."
The bullet connects with Lamia and creates a huge explosion which causes a huge cloud of smoke and fire.
"Oh no."
"HAAHHAAHAHAHA. Dead already and I wasn't even trying. Kids these days are so L A M E."
"Huh, was that it? If you thought that would kill me, you're denser than you look."
"She's .... Okay? How?", wonders Seito.
"Impossible."
The cloud of smoke and fire clears.
Lamia barely has a scratch on her.
"It is the Water Knight Armor, fire doesn't affect me."
"Wow, that's amazing"
"Well then, it seems I'll have to get serious. Don't complain when you're six feet under… That is if anything is left after I burn you to ashes ke." he hunches over, looking at her.
"I will make you pay for ruining the ceremony."
The President, ready.
