Chapter 45 - Chapter 45

After breakfast, Harry drove his supercar toward the Osborn Building. As for his armor and flying skateboard, Old Al had already stored them in the underground training room.

"Hey! Mr. Osborn!"

As soon as Harry stepped out of the car, someone called to him. Turning his head, he saw Reed Richards jogging over — holding a metal lockbox in both hands.

"Huff…" Reed stopped, setting the case down for a moment to catch his breath before looking up at Harry with excitement practically glowing in his eyes.

"Let's talk inside," Harry said, noticing how worked up he was. He gestured toward the building entrance.

"Ah, right—of-course." Reed nodded quickly. The success of his research had clearly overwhelmed him; words tumbled over each other, and it took him a moment to compose himself.

Harry smiled faintly and led the way into the building.

"It's rare for anyone besides me to ride this elevator," Harry said lightly, resting his hands on the polished rail as they ascended.

"Really?" Reed asked, genuinely surprised, glancing out through the transparent wall. From here, he could see the entire lobby spread beneath them — every employee, every desk — all under Osborn's watchful control.

Ding—

"Mr. Richards, we're here."

Harry stepped out and crossed the room, hanging his coat neatly over a chair.

"Please, have a seat."

"Thank you." Reed sat down across from him and carefully placed the suitcase on the table.

"I tried contacting Miss Hardy yesterday, but she didn't answer," Reed explained with an apologetic smile. "So I came early this morning. I didn't expect you to be here already, Mr. Osborn."

"Alright, Reed. Let's see it," Harry said directly.

"Ah—yes, of course."

Reed hurried to open the lockbox. Inside sat six vials of glowing crimson liquid, each secured in a cushioned slot.

"Although our original experiment failed, we achieved something… quite unexpected." As he spoke, Reed's tone shifted — the calm scientist replaced by an eager, almost manic one. He picked up a vial and began explaining rapidly, his words spilling out in dense scientific jargon.

"In short," Harry interrupted with a small smile, "the main project failed, but the by-product is valuable?"

Reed blinked, then laughed awkwardly. "Yes… That's right."

He composed himself and continued more clearly. "Our initial goal was to unravel the genetic structure of humanity itself. But aside from the four of us who underwent mutation aboard the space station, there was no usable data. So that line of research stopped. However, from the biological readings we collected from our own transformations, we managed to create this."

He held up the vial again, the red liquid shimmering faintly.

"This compound acts as a catalyst derived from our altered physiology — it stimulates regeneration in organic tissue."

"Catalytic regeneration?" Harry guessed, intrigued.

"Yes! Exactly!" Reed nodded eagerly. "I've run simulations. The only measurable effect is increased energy consumption — no harmful side effects."

Harry leaned back, thinking. "Good. I'll have our research division run a full verification. You'll get the results within three days."

With Harry's approval, Reed's excitement surged again. He stood, ready to bring the news back to his team.

"Then I'll take my leave, Mr. Osborn."

"Alright." Harry gave a small nod.

"Goodbye!" Reed turned to leave, clenching his fist in a silent cheer as he walked out — overjoyed with his success.

"Wait."

Reed paused and turned back. "Yes, Mr. Osborn?"

"I heard Victor von Doom's been busy with a new company lately, hasn't he?" Harry asked casually, recalling a headline from a few days ago.

Reed blinked in surprise but nodded. "Yes… Though I'm not sure why you ask."

"How's his company doing?" Harry continued.

"Not well," Reed admitted. "I saw him recently — he seemed unstable… sick, even. I don't think he's in good shape."

"I see." Harry lowered his gaze, then looked up with a faint smile. "It's nothing. Just… be careful."

Though puzzled by the warning, Reed simply nodded and left.

Harry watched him go, then picked up the phone on his desk.

"Doctor, I've got new experimental material for you. Come pick it up."

He hung up, eyes falling back on the suitcase. His fingers brushed one of the vials.

Ding.

"Unregistered item detected — Regeneration Serum (x5). Convert to points?"

Harry smirked. "Even if it's little, points are points."

"Conversion successful. Current balance: — points." One of the six vials vanished, dissolving into thin air as the system chimed again.

He tapped another vial — nothing.

"Ha… no loopholes, huh?" He shook his head with a small laugh.

Ding—

"Harry, what kind of material is it?" Dr. Carl asked, stepping off the elevator.

"Take one for yourself and send the rest to the research division," Harry said, pointing to the open suitcase.

"What's this?" Dr. Carl picked up a vial, examining it curiously.

"Reed Richards' latest work — a biological catalyst that enhances regeneration," Harry explained.

"Interesting…" Carl mused. "I wonder if it could regrow limbs like Dr. Connors's lizard serum."

"Dr. Connors…" Harry echoed thoughtfully. "By the way, Carl, did you keep any of his serum samples?"

"Ah, that?" Carl scratched his head. "I did, but the side effects were too severe, so I destroyed the lot."

"Understood," Harry said, lips tightening slightly.

"Oh, and the flying skateboards are done," Carl added as he entered the elevator again. "They're stored in Warehouse No. 3. You can pick them up anytime."

Harry nodded. "Good."
