Chapter 327: The Tables Turn

The plan was swiftly executed. Kirk quickly confirmed the operational details with Akira and Mann.

Akira's mechanical tentacles arranged several inconspicuous miniature devices around the young Spock. They emitted a low hum, generating a localized, precise energy interference field.

"A weakened application of the stasis field," Akira explained to Kirk, his crimson optical lenses flashing slightly. "It won't affect his physiological state, but it can effectively block standard matter transport locks. The Klingon scans will show intense energy turbulence in the target area, making safe transport impossible. If they want to get the 'Genesis Torpedo,' they will have to send someone down to retrieve it."

Kirk nodded, took a deep breath, and once again opened the comm channel with the Klingon Commander Kruge.

His voice carried a deliberately suppressed anger and a trace of reluctant compromise: "Commander Kruge, we agree to your terms. The 'Genesis Torpedo'... is right here. But it is extremely unstable, and its internal energy structure is fragile. Forced transport might lead to an unpredictable energy release, possibly even detonating it prematurely. You must send someone down to receive it in person."

To add credibility, he added with a warning tone, "Additionally, this thing has formed some kind of resonance with the planet's energy field. The surrounding space is highly unstable; beaming it up is suicide. If you want it, fly down and get it yourself!"

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line, only the heavy breathing of the Klingon and background noise could be heard. Clearly, Kruge was evaluating the authenticity of this claim. Kirk's heartbeat accelerated slightly, but he forced himself to remain calm.

Finally, Kruge's harsh voice rang out again, carrying a hint of greed and caution: "Very well, Kirk. Good to see you understand your situation. My shuttle will land in five minutes. Don't play any tricks, or the crew on your ship will be the first to pay the price."

"Landing coordinates have been sent. We are waiting." Kirk cut the comms, looked at Akira and Mann, and gave a firm nod.

Almost simultaneously, Kirk's communicator lit up again. Uhura's extremely hushed voice came through, with the characteristic echo of the Enterprise's maintenance corridors in the background: "Captain, we found an opportunity! In the D-7 deck maintenance corridor, the Klingon guard presence is relatively weak. Scott managed to temporarily bypass part of their lockdown on the transporter system. We can establish a temporary, low-power transport site here, but the window is very short. It can only be maintained for less than thirty seconds, and the energy signature might be detected!"

"That's enough!" Kirk responded immediately. "Prepare to receive Mann's squad. Sync the transport coordinates to Magos Akira immediately."

Faint sounds of mechanical operation came from within Akira's massive body. He had evidently intercepted and processed the coordinate data through some means: "Coordinates confirmed. Transport sequence ready. Mann, you have twenty seconds to complete deployment and engage the enemy."

Mann let out a low growl: "Understood." He and his squad members had already finished checking their respective weapons.

Everyone's gaze turned to the clearing outside the camp, enveloped in eerie light and thunderstorms. The Klingon shuttle was piercing through the clouds, slowly descending with a massive roar from its engines.

The Klingon shuttle landed roughly in the clearing outside the camp. Before the dust kicked up by the engines could fully settle, the hatch swung upward.

Fully armed Klingon soldiers rushed out first, quickly fanning out and raising the muzzles of their disruptors toward the people in the camp, their eyes fierce and vigilant.

Finally, the burly figure of Commander Kruge appeared at the hatch.

Clad in heavy battle armor, his face wore the characteristic Klingon arrogance and a victorious, sinister smile as he strode toward Kirk.

His gaze swept greedily over the camp, quickly locking onto the young Spock—whom Akira had tampered with, surrounded by faint energy disturbances. In his eyes, that was undoubtedly the "Genesis Torpedo," containing the mighty power of destruction and creation.

"Kirk," Kruge's voice carried undisguised mockery. "It seems you've finally learned to face reality. You should have done this sooner; it would have spared your crew some..."

Before he could finish his sentence.

Without any warning, several clusters of pale blue energy fields suddenly erupted and merged, centering around him and the core retinue Kruge had brought, instantly forming a larger stasis field sphere.

The mocking expression on Kruge's face, his half-raised hand seemingly about to point at Kirk, the vigilant scanning gazes of his retinue—everything solidified in an instant, like insects encased in invisible resin, completely frozen outside of time.

"Control established," Akira's synthesized voice sounded calmly, as if he had merely completed a simple experimental operation.

Almost at the exact moment the stasis field took effect, Kirk growled into his communicator: "Uhura, now!"

The already prepared members of Mann's squad and Kirk himself were instantly enveloped by the transporter beams from the Enterprise. Their figures became blurry and transparent in the camp, then vanished completely.

The next second, the dizzying sensation of transport separation quickly faded. Kirk and Mann's squad found themselves inside the narrow maintenance corridor of the Enterprise's D-7 deck, filled with pipes and rapidly flashing lights.

The air was thick with ozone and a faint scent of blood. The sound of phaser fire and Klingon roars echoed vaguely from a distance.

Uhura and a security officer with soot on his face were guarding a temporarily modified panel.

"Captain!" Uhura was visibly relieved to see Kirk appear, but her eyes remained urgent. "The main Klingon forces are concentrated on the bridge, the engine room, and the main weapon control room. They are trying to break through the main computer's security locks!"

"Where's Scott?" Kirk asked quickly, simultaneously taking the phaser Uhura handed him.

"Scott is organizing a resistance near the engine room, but the situation is bad. There are too many Klingons!"

A sharp light flashed in Kirk's eyes. He looked at Mann's squad, standing solemnly beside him like war machines.

"Mann, the bridge is yours and your squad's. Use whatever method you deem most effective to clear all resistance and retake control! I'm heading to the engine room to support Scott!" Kirk's orders were clear and decisive. He entrusted the most difficult task, the one requiring the most professional combat skills, to the most suitable people.

Mann gave a slight nod, not even offering a superfluous reply. With just a simple hand signal, the members of his squad instantly entered combat mode.

Dorio took the lead. Valerie and Jack closely followed, taking positions on both sides of the corridor. Falco and Mael seamlessly melted into the shadows like ghosts.

"Move out!" Kirk shouted in a low voice. Armed with a phaser, he led Uhura and the security officer, sprinting toward the engine room.

The battle to retake the Enterprise suddenly ignited within the steel corridors of this legendary starship.
