Chapter 694: Assault on the Predator Mothership

In the North Pole of Pandora, deep within a canyon frozen for ten thousand years, darkness and bitter cold ruled everything.

The Predator mothership rested against the sheer ice cliff like a slumbering metallic behemoth. Its advanced cloaking field made it blend almost perfectly with the surrounding environment; only the occasionally distorted light caused by energy fluctuations hinted at its existence.

However, this absolute silence was completely shattered at 04:00 Pandora standard time.

Without warning, several figures appeared like phantoms near the mothership's outer sentry posts.

They were the Eldar warriors of Ulthwe, clad in wraithbone armor. They moved soundlessly, as if melting into the shadows of the ice field itself.

The Predator sentries had barely detected a faint energy disturbance and had not even had time to sound the alarm before they were subdued by the rapidly closing Eldar warriors using exquisite joint-locking techniques.

Psychic binding devices flashed at the joints of the Predators' armor, instantly paralyzing their mobility.

The entire process was clean and efficient, emitting almost no sound.

Almost simultaneously, a vastly different commotion erupted from the other side—the muffled blasts of non-lethal concussion rounds and the distinct hum of power armor servo-systems.

The Astartes squad, like a torrent of steel, launched a frontal suppression assault in a standard breaching formation.

The non-lethal missile pods on the shoulders of the heavy assault Astartes spat brief tongues of flame. Several concussion missiles accurately struck suspected auxiliary turrets and sensor arrays on the mothership's underbelly, temporarily disabling them without causing structural damage.

The tactical Astartes switched their bolters to a low-lethality concussion mode. The dense firepower swept like a storm over the Predators rushing hastily out of their concealed bunkers, the tremendous kinetic impact knocking them unconscious on the ground.

The Eldar and the Astartes—two elite forces with drastically different styles—were now conducting a suppressive strike against the Predator mothership's outer defenses in a manner that almost resembled a competition of efficiency.

Relying on extreme agility and psychic techniques, the Eldar leaped and flickered through the shadows. Every appearance was accompanied by precise stunning strikes and rapid binding operations.

The Astartes, on the other hand, relied on unparalleled defensive capabilities and suppressive firepower. Like a moving wall of steel, they advanced steadily, knocking out or immobilizing every resisting Predator one by one.

An attempt was made to seal the mothership's blast doors from the inside, but Techmarine Cassius had already anticipated this.

Leading the Astartes equipped with boarding shields and specialized breaching tools, he forced entry. Instead of melting through, they used precise shaped charges and hydraulic spreaders to destroy the locking mechanisms of the doors.

Meanwhile, utilizing their slender frames and agile movements, the Eldar warriors were the first to infiltrate the ship through the destroyed sensor interface panels and narrow ventilation shafts.

They navigated the labyrinthine pipe networks with incredible speed. Like invisible ghosts, they disabled the alarm systems from the inside and subdued the scattered guards stationed at critical corridors.

The battle spilled into the interior of the mothership.

The corridors were narrow and the environment complex. The Predators attempted to leverage their familiarity with the terrain to mount a fighting retreat.

The screech of plasma casters and the sharp whistle of wristblades slicing through the air echoed constantly, but the intruders clearly avoided lethal retaliation.

The Astartes' concussion bolter rounds ricocheted repeatedly within the confined spaces, creating a continuous suppressive effect. The Eldar warriors utilized psychic shocks and precise physical strikes, specifically targeting the Predators' joints and nerve clusters to rapidly incapacitate them.

The intruders advanced through the mothership like a surgical strike, rapidly closing the net around the core sector.

The number of combat-capable Predators plummeted at an astonishing rate, and their controlled zones were constantly compressed.

Every subdued Predator was quickly injected with tranquilizers, fitted with specialized energy-suppression shackles, and gathered under the guard of Maine's squad, who trailed closely behind.

The objective of this raid was exceedingly clear: capture this vessel and its crew as intact as possible.

The fierce screech of energy weapons and the clash of metal drew closer, like a continuously tightening noose, unmistakably heralding the collapse of the defense network.

The Predator Elder stood in the command center, his scarred visage hidden beneath the shadow of his ceremonial crown. Through the intermittent feeds transmitted to the main screen, he coldly watched this irredeemable defeat.

On the screen, the defensive lines formed by his experienced mature warriors in the narrow corridors disintegrated one after another under the silent psychic shocks and precise physical strikes.

The Young Bloods, viewed as the future of the clan, were subdued before they could even organize effective resistance against the overwhelming suppressive fire and ironclad advance.

The combat prowess, seamless tactical coordination, and unheard-of technological means displayed by the enemy far exceeded his estimations of this remote world.

He had originally planned to use Pandora as a proving ground for the Young Bloods and a place to wash away the shame of Celtic's death. Never did he imagine that it would bring such a precise and highly efficient apocalypse upon the clan.

These enemies were entirely different from the native species that relied on numbers, crude technology, or symbiosis with the forest. They were more like a machine meticulously forged for destruction: cold, efficient, and devoid of any redundancy.

Finally, accompanied by a muffled boom, the heavy alloy blast doors of the command center violently bulged inward and twisted from the center. The complex locking mechanism was forcibly destroyed in a blinding flash of energy.

The doors did not fall; rather, they were torn apart to the sides by sheer, raw power, revealing the towering figures behind them.

On the left stood the Astartes in their heavy power armor, resembling mobile fortresses, their sensors emitting a freezing faint glow. On the right were the agile Eldar warriors, the psychic radiance faintly flowing across their wraithbone armor, posing elegantly yet carrying a lethal threat.

And surrounded by these existences that defied all logic was a seemingly ordinary youth dressed in a simple exploration suit.

The Predator Elder's remaining sharp gaze instantly pierced through the vanguard guards and locked firmly onto Ryo.

Although this young individual's appearance held no deterrent value, the posture of the powerful warriors surrounding him—treating him as their absolute core—combined with the unfathomable depths of tranquility in his own eyes, caused the Elder's instincts to scream in warning. This entity was the root cause of it all.

At this moment, aside from the Elder, only the last two heavily wounded mature warriors remained standing guard before him in the command center.

They let out low roars mixed with fury and unyielding defiance. Raising their wristblades, the hum of their charging shoulder casters sounded exceptionally clear in the silent command center, adopting a stance of fighting to the death.

However, at this moment, the Predator Elder made a move that defied everyone's expectations.

He extended his giant hand covered in heavy armor and pressed it steadily and powerfully onto the shoulders of his two guards, making an unmistakable gesture for them to stand down.

The two mature warriors stiffened, issuing unwilling guttural growls from their throats. But beneath the Elder's unquestionable gaze, they ultimately backed away slowly to the sides, yielding the path. Yet, their tense muscles and still-hostile eyes proved they had not dropped their guard.
