Chapter 20 - My Creations

The Werewolf Realm ~

Alpha Levi's POV.

The book lay silent, like it was telling us: That is enough for today.

Micha and I exchanged a long look.

I rubbed my face with both hands.

"I don't understand… why would she curse the entire werewolf race?"

Then I paused.

Actually—I did understand.

If everyone targeted and accused the only person I loved , then violated and killed me for something I had no hand in , I would burn the world too. Suddenly, her curse didn't seem like mindless evil. It felt like heartbreak, revenge, and desperation.

But now there was another problem.

"The Queen's curse," I muttered. "And the missing child. And some girl alive right now with the bloodline."

Micha groaned and dropped into a chair dramatically.

"We just wanted to know why the realms erased each other's existence and how to reach them again. Instead—boom: curses, dragons, dead Queens, dark winged monsters."

He waved his hands. "Too many mysteries!"

He wasn't lying.

Everything kept getting more complicated.

But I wasn't giving up.

"To be honest," I said slowly, "we just need to keep pushing. The truth is buried somewhere. The realms didn't destroy each other for no reason, and Roosevelt wasn't evil. He was framed. And then he lost everything."

My chest tightened thinking about it.

A powerful king, destroyed by lies, betrayed, and abandoned.

"Imagine the whole world turning against you," I whispered, "and the only person who believed you—dying because of it."

Micha nodded, his anger fading into something like pity.

"But those dark-winged creatures…" he added. "Who are they? They weren't named. Not elves, not witches, not vampires. Something new."

The book hadn't given a single clue about them.

Not their origin.

Not their nature.

Not their purpose.

"Maybe we'll find out later," I said. "Everything in that book shows up when we're meant to read it."

Micha stretched, his bones cracking loudly.

"Either way, Alpha Levi, I'm done for tonight. I'm exhausted. I need to see Kira—I feel like I haven't seen her in years."

I blinked.

"Oh. Right."

I'd been so obsessed that I forgot other wolves had lives beyond ancient curses.

"I'm sorry, Micha. I haven't been considerate. I just want answers. Go home to your mate. We'll continue tomorrow. I'm tired too."

He gave a small smile and nodded.

"That book is going to give me nightmares. If it opens by itself at night, I'm burning your house," he said and walked out.

I chuckled weakly, then went to the bathroom.

The hot water hit my skin, and for the first time in days, my muscles relaxed. I hadn't truly slept in a long time. Micha hadn't either.

We'd both been running on pure adrenaline and curiosity.

I dried off, laid on the bed, and the world faded almost instantly.

For the first time in a week, I dreamed of nothing.

Just darkness.

Just sleep.

**~ The Vampire Realm ~

Erin's POV**

Hooves clicked sharply on stone.

The horses ran across the wide bridge that crossed the shining moat surrounding the castle. Sunlight hit the water, turning it into a sheet of silver. The world outside was brighter and bigger than I imagined.

It was my first time going out of the castle since awakening.

Father never allowed me to step beyond the walls.

"Not until you are strong," he always said.

Apparently, I had many enemies—even if I didn't remember them.

He even stopped the Goldren's—my own creations—from visiting me.

Not because they were dangerous, but because I wasn't strong enough to defend myself. That part was insulting, honestly.

Well, I wasn't completely strong now, but I was powerful enough.

I could defend myself against anyone.

Probably.

Mars sat across from me inside the royal carriage. The walls were velvet red, the seats soft, the interior glowing with simple gold runes.

I thought carriages were outdated.

"Father," I had asked earlier, "Don't you have cars here?"

He laughed.

"We don't drive, dear. We are faster than cars."

He tapped my forehead lightly. "Carriages are for ladies—and they are affordable for everyone."

Everyone.

That word made me smile.

In the world he built, no one was above another. No nobles stepping on poor citizens. No starving villages. No cruelty.

Just… equality.

When I saw the carriage, I stared like a child. It was beautiful—four pure-breed horses, coats shining like polished metal. They were powerful, elegant, proud. The symbol of the royal palace was engraved on each side of the carriage—black wings wrapped around a silver moon.

It was strange.

All of this was mine, yet everything felt new.

And of course… my "beloved" travel partner was here.

Mars.

Brooding, scary, silent Mars.

He sat with his arms crossed, eyes staring out the window like a statue carved from stone. His presence alone could freeze a volcano. But instead of fear… something about him made me feel calm.

And confused.

He said I needed to see the Goldren's.

That meeting them would help break the barriers around my powers.

Apparently, they were my creations.

Born from my magic.

My children, in a strange way.

I didn't remember creating anything, but I was fascinated. What could they do? How did I make them? Were they dangerous? Friendly? Beautiful?

Only one way to find out.

I leaned closer, excitement rising.

"So, Mars," I said, "Are the Goldren's really strong? What do they look like? Do they talk? Can they fly? Are they cute?"

He blinked at me slowly.

"You ask too many questions."

I gasped dramatically.

"I haven't even started."

His lips almost—almost—twitched like he wanted to smile, but of course he refused. Mars wouldn't allow such weakness.

He cleared his throat.

"You will see them soon. They have been waiting for you for a long time."

The way he said it sent a strange warmth through my chest.

Waiting…

For me.

The carriage slowed.

Outside, a massive golden forest spread like a glowing sea. Trees with leaves shining like sunlight, flowers that hummed energy, creatures that shimmered like living crystal.

My breath caught.

This place…

This magical world…

It felt like home.

Father said I created the Goldren's to protect the realm when I was Queen Erin. I didn't remember it, but something inside me did. Something deep and ancient.

My powers moved under my skin, whispering.

Soon. Awaken. Remember.

The horses stopped.

Mars stood and offered his hand.

"We are here," he said quietly. "Prepare yourself. The Goldren's do not bow to anyone… except you."

My heart skipped.

Because for the first time ever…

I was about to meet the creatures I created.

And maybe—just maybe—the fragments of my past would return.
