Chapter 55 - Chapter 55

The rollout moved faster than anyone expected.

In just half a year—powered by the Namikaze family's deep coffers and the full cooperation of the major clans—the first project on Shinju's blueprint, Peace Ichiban Street, rose from the ground and opened its doors.

On opening day, the brand-new pedestrian avenue blazed with lantern light and thronged with people.

Konoha's villagers wore genuine smiles as they wandered the stone-paved street, studying the neatly unified storefronts. Flowerbeds dotted the centerline, and every shopfront sported fresh signs: "Grand Opening Specials," "Limited-Time Discounts," and other never-before-seen phrases that tickled their curiosity.

They had never imagined their village could look so lively—so full of everyday life.

Tradition said that every hidden village was, at heart, a military fortress. The stronger the village, the heavier the focus on training and recruits—commerce was an afterthought. But today's Konoha felt different. Peace, at least for now, and strength to guard it—these were blessings everyone could feel.

And at the center of their gratitude stood the Namikaze family. Inside the village, old illnesses had been cured; outside, even the proud Cloud had bowed. Many villagers secretly exhaled—justice had a face again.

"Look! Ichiraku opened a branch here—first bowl half off today!"

"The dango shop's doing a promo—buy three skewers, get one free!"

"Yamanaka's flower shop launched a member points card—you can trade points for gifts!"

Guided by Shinju, one novel concept after another landed for the first time in this world, acting like catalysts that ignited everyone's desire to spend. For this land, it was a dimensionality-reduction strike.

Mid-street, in front of a storefront called Byakugan Appraisal Workshop, Hiashi stood staring at the line curling down the block, disbelief on his face.

This was the very business Shinju had "strongly recommended" to the Hyuga at the council.

At first, the elders had bristled. The Byakugan was priceless—meant for missions and service to Konoha, not… commerce.

"Have the Hyuga fallen to peddling?"

"Byakugan is for battle and reconnaissance—not for appraising the rabble's scrap metal!"

Opposition dominated the clan meeting—until Hiashi overrode it, choosing to trust the boy unconditionally.

Reality proved how right he was.

"Next!"

A Hyuga branch member behind the counter activated his Byakugan, examining the kunai a customer placed before him.

"Hm… fine material—premium chakra-conductive alloy. However—" His gaze focused inside the blade. "Three sun below the edge there's a hairline interior crack. It won't matter in normal use, but under high strain, it could snap."

He relayed the verdict, then asked, "Would you like it repaired? With Jūken (Gentle Fist) we can guide chakra precisely into the flaw and restructure it from within. Repair fee: five hundred ryō."

"Do it!" the customer said without hesitation. "That's my A-rank mission lifeline! If it snapped in the field, I'd be dead!"

Scenes like that played out at every counter.

Leveraging the Byakugan's insight into chakra flow and internal structures, the Hyuga could verify authenticity, uncover hidden damage, and deliver seamless repairs.

In another world, this would have required instruments—here, it was clan talent, faster and better.

The service hit every shinobi pain point at once.

By late morning, the workshop's revenue had already crossed a staggering mark.

Hands trembling, Hiashi read the fresh ledger the accountant brought him. The row of zeros didn't look real.

That number already surpassed the Hyuga's entire income from the previous month.

"Looks like business is good, Clan Head Hiashi."

Hiashi turned. At some point, Shinju had appeared at his side.

"Shinju-sama!" Hiashi quickly closed the ledger and bowed deeply. "You are a genius of commerce! I already revered your strength, but I never imagined your gifts in business would be this profound."

Shinju smiled, watching the confident Hyuga working the counters.

"Hiashi-dono, the Byakugan shouldn't be caged in combat alone.

"Use it to serve the village—separate truth from falsehood—and it brings both wealth and honor to your clan. In wartime, fight; in peacetime, uplift. When a clan creates value for every villager, respect follows naturally. 'I for all, all for me.'"

The last line struck deep. Hiashi finally understood—this wasn't just a business plan Shinju had given the Hyuga.

It was a clear, efficient path for the clan to fully integrate with Konoha and win every heart.

Binding the clan's future to this young man was the best decision of his life—beyond question.

The commercial street's success spread like a warm spring wind through all of Konoha.

The Ino–Shika–Chō opened the largest restaurant and yakiniku house.

The Inuzuka turned their noses and ninken into the village's most professional lost-and-found service.

The Aburame developed the most effective crop pest repellents using their kikaichū—farmers loved them.

Every clan discovered a new role in this commercial tide—and reaped rich rewards.

And all of it pulled their destinies tighter to the Namikaze heir, Shinju.

Konoha was accelerating from a mere "fortress" toward a prosperous, vibrant "city." Shinju's beyond-the-times vision held true: finance first, commerce flowing, then sustainable growth.

The unprecedented boom also showed a proud clan a new road forward. Even with deep pockets, standing still was death.

At Uchiha Police Headquarters, Fugaku looked out over the joyous crowds along the commercial street and fell into long thought.

The Uchiha had perfected village policing; perhaps it was time to expand that expertise.

Their "business transformation" should finally move onto the agenda.
