Chapter 179 - Chapter 179

In Kenpachi's perception, a life force was blazing like a bonfire.

His gaze locked onto a man in a green bodysuit—thick eyebrows, a strange hairstyle.

"Hey."

Kenpachi spoke.

Both Shinigami and shinobi unconsciously parted to make way, forced back by the beastlike pressure pouring off him.

Guy had just kicked a Hollowfied one flying and was breathing hard when a tall man approached—ragged clothes, bandages wrapped around his body, a jagged, battered serrated zanpakuto slung over his shoulder.

There was a long scar across the man's face, and in his eyes was undisguised madness and craving.

"You're interesting," Kenpachi bared his teeth, grinning viciously.

He could feel it—this man's body itself was the most terrifying weapon.

Every muscle and every bone had been tempered through endless battle.

"You look like something special. Come on, beast!" Kenpachi lowered his zanpakuto from his shoulder, the tip scraping the ground and carving a deep trench.

Then he ripped off the black eyepatch over his right eye.

"Let's slaughter each other to our hearts' content!"

The instant the eyepatch came off, golden spiritual pressure exploded into a gale, blasting rubble and loose stones into the air.

Guy's expression hardened.

He could tell immediately—this man was a beast born purely for battle.

"You call me a beast? Same to you," Guy shot back without flinching.

"Too much talk—here I come!" Kenpachi swung as if to cut him down.

As Konoha's proudest Azure Beast, Guy feared no challenge.

"Exactly what I wanted!" Guy roared, taking Konoha's strongest taijutsu stance.

His eyes ignited with the same fire.

"This is… youth!!!"

Before the words even finished, Guy vanished from where he stood.

He poured chakra into his legs and burst into extreme speed.

The ground detonated into a crater beneath his feet—yet he was already in front of Kenpachi.

A ferocious Konoha Senpu (Leaf Whirlwind) whipped up toward Kenpachi's head.

Kenpachi didn't dodge.

He didn't even blink—pure battle instinct made him raise his zanpakuto horizontally.

Clang!

Foot and blade collided with a deafening crash.

A visible shockwave exploded outward from the two of them, forcing the ground within a hundred meters to sink another three feet.

Guy's first strike didn't land cleanly—he twisted in midair by sheer control, his other leg dropping like a battle axe.

Kenpachi laughed wildly, swinging one-handed to knock it aside.

The sheer force sent Guy flying back. He flipped several times in the air before landing firmly.

"Good! Good!" Kenpachi shouted, thrilled. "That's it! Faster! Heavier!"

He charged.

There was no swordsmanship to speak of—just the simplest, most brutal chopping swings.

Guy's body weaved through the chaotic blade light, his speed reaching the extreme, leaving trails of green afterimages.

A fist slammed into Kenpachi's chest.

Kenpachi didn't budge—his blade swept back in response.

Guy's reaction was terrifyingly fast. The sharp edge skimmed past the tip of his nose, slicing off a few strands of hair.

Their battle had completely surpassed anything spectators could understand.

This was a head-on collision of strength and speed—ferality and will.

"Go, Ken-chan! Blow him away!" Yachiru sat on a distant boulder, swinging her legs excitedly as she cheered.

On the other side, Rock Lee stared at the battlefield, fists clenched so hard his knuckles whitened.

His eyes were filled with shock—and worry.

Guy-sensei had run into a true monster.

That man's body was harder than steel.

Sensei's attacks simply couldn't deal effective damage.

At the center of the battlefield—

After dozens of exchanges, Guy got clipped—Kenpachi's blade slammed into his shoulder, and Guy was smashed into the ground.

Blood seeped from the wound, staining his green bodysuit.

"Hahahaha! Amazing! Your bones are hard!" Kenpachi shouldered his sword, wearing a satisfied, bloodthirsty grin. "But is that all? Your power… it shouldn't end here!"

Guy climbed out of the crater, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth.

He knew Kenpachi was right.

In his normal state, he couldn't defeat this human-shaped beast.

If he wanted to fight him properly—

He had to release the shackles on his body.

"You're right," Guy's eyes changed. "To answer a strong man like you… I have to bring out all my passion!"

He formed hand seals at his chest.

A vast chakra surge began to roar through his body, slamming into the tenketsu that limited his physical output.

"Eight Gates!"

"First Gate—Gate of Opening, open!"

"Second Gate—Gate of Healing, open!"

"Third Gate—Gate of Life, open!"

In one breath, he burst open five gates in succession. The immense power turned his skin red, veins standing out across his whole body.

But it still wasn't enough!

"Sixth Gate—Gate of View—OPEN!"

With a furious roar, green steam erupted from every pore, blasting upward like a pillar.

The scorching pressure distorted the air around him.

Guy's aura skyrocketed several times over in an instant.

Kenpachi's smile only widened.

"Yes! That's it! That feeling!"

He could sense it—the volcano inside his opponent had finally erupted.

"Come on!"

Guy vanished again.

This time, his speed was several times faster than before.

Kenpachi couldn't even catch the movement—

A crushing force slammed into his abdomen.

His body rocketed into the sky.

"Not done yet!"

Guy's voice boomed like thunder right by his ear.

Somehow, Guy was already above him—legs together, about to drop straight down.

Kenpachi couldn't gain leverage midair. He could only brace his zanpakuto across his chest.

Boom!

Another massive impact.

He was hammered from the sky and driven straight into the earth.

The ground shook violently as a crater more than fifty meters wide formed.

"Cough…"

Blood sprayed from Kenpachi's mouth.

He felt pain—pain he hadn't felt in a long time.

Kenpachi rose from the crater, his wounds already healing rapidly.

He stared at Guy hovering above, green steam rolling off him, and let out a laugh that shook the heavens.

"Hahahahaha! Interesting! Too interesting!"

He gripped the hilt with both hands.

"To show respect… I'll get a little serious."

"Kendo: Ryōdan (Sword Path: Two Sever)!"

A golden sword pressure, too massive to describe, shot skyward—like it was about to split the heavens in two.

Facing that world-shattering strike, Guy didn't retreat even a step.

"Asa Kujaku (Morning Peacock)!"

His fists moved so fast they blurred. Each punch dragged out burning flames.

Countless flaming fists converged into a torrent—like a dazzling peacock—meeting the golden sword pressure head-on.

The sky was ignited completely.

Gold and green—sword pressure and burning fists—collided at the battlefield's highest point.

A ring of destructive shockwave blasted outward.

Shinigami and shinobi alike were all thrown back by the force.

When the light faded—

Kenpachi and Guy appeared again.

Both were covered in wounds, breathing in huge, ragged gulps.

Yet their eyes were brighter than ever.

They looked at each other—

And smiled at the same time.

This was the joy of equals meeting—both tasting the exhilaration of pushing battle to its limit.

And then—

They surged forward again, ready for the final collision.
