He didn't take long. Something in the air caused him to stiffen, bend at the waist, then rise sharply and hurry back to the SUV.
"He's here," Lennox said, his face slick with rain. "Or at least he was not long ago."
Cutting the engine and throwing on his jacket, Blair stepped out into the chilly rain. The low clusters of tree all around the sparsely-populated parking lot lurked like menacing shadows in the evening light. It would be dark in an hour or two. If Nikita was out here, he didn't have much time.
"Can you tell which trail he went down?" Blair squinted through the rain at Lennox, who looked side to side.
"No," he said after a moment. "But maybe if we check out a couple trailheads..."
