Lana and Shalt were both bewildered to find out the state of the ship. Dents, burn marks, and blood splatters were all over. A person here and there was working on cleaning up the biological droppings throughout the ship but it was clear not many people were there. Lana was beginning to fear the worst. Alex and the other forgers were not fighters. Three of her own people worked for him.
As she finally approached her destination, she noticed things were different here. Everything looked new. Did Alex and his people rebuild everything that was damaged by an attack that happened just yesterday?
Lana peeked through the window and the crew appeared to be hard at work. She allowed herself to enter knowing knocking was useless here. Looking around the room, everything looked new toward the front of the room. She could tell how far the invaders got in here. Despite what the crew of the ship went through, Lana found herself smiling at the quality of people Quinn was surrounded with.
Lana's eyes then settled on a man that was about the same build as Alex, the same aura but this guy looked different. He was wings! There were two on each side, bright red. She knew he belonged to Quinn because of the aura change ages ago but wings? She watched him work, hammering something while his wings fluttered at such a high speed she could feel the wind created by them. She wondered how his wings were not cooling down whatever he was working on.
Lana saw a hand waiving at her and she waived back. It was one of her people. She had forgotten his name. She only knew her three forgers for a day before sending them here. She was too busy to truly get to know them.
The young man approached her and explained Pure agents tried to steal all their hard work. Alex had been hiding his wings but he brought them out and fought off the leader of the attackers while everyone else hid. Once he had taken her out, the rest joined him and won the day.
Lana smiled, "I'm glad he was here then."
Alex then noticed they had a visitor and paused in his work. His wings fluttered even faster which surprised her.
Lana chuckled, "you have a nice wind attack there, Alex!"
Alex blushed a little as he looked back at his wings.
Lana looked between the two men and continued. "The babies are getting a bit big and I was wondering if you and your team could invent some seats to put on Caser's back so he can carry them?"
Caser then shocked them all by growing bigger and folding his tentacles in a way that would demonstrate how he could hold the seats to keep the babies safe. Unbeknownst to everyone, at a year old, his species can alter its size at will. Experience then allows them to get really small or really big.
Alex chuckled, "I guess he likes this idea!" He asked Caser to lie on his belly so he could get some measurements. It took a good bit of time because he had to measure the distance between tentacles on Caser's back, how thick they were, how flexible they were. After checking how big around he was, Alex drew up some thoughts.
"So, we can do something like the idea of a saddle for a horse put a baby seat at each end. It will need a way to enclose it to keep rain off them." Alex noticed her traveler tag. "Do you want to take them with you on hunts? If so, there needs to be a quick release so Caser can join the fight and place the babies in a safe spot."
"I love that idea! Is there a way for the seats to change as the babies grow? Or maybe have a few sets of seats that click in and we can change them out as they grow?"
Alex nodded as his thoughts whirred inside his head. "Do you have any crystals?"
Lana produced 6 king-tier crystals that had been paid to the faction and then to the family.
"King-tier!" Alex exclaimed. "I would say that's a waste but if you bring them everywhere you go, it would make sense." Alex examined the crystals and smiled. "These will work perfectly. This will be an interesting creation. I'll have my whole team work on it so it will get done faster."
Lana was wishing she had a jacket with the amount of wind his wings were putting out but she could tell at this point, the speed was related to his level of excitement so she refused to complain. "How much is the fee?"
"I can't charge you. We still owe you for all that galathrium you bought us! No. Your orders are free."
Lana smiled, "I appreciated that. How long do you think it will take to make it?"
"This is something new so two weeks. It sounds like a long time but we need to make sure it works and won't endanger the babies we are trying to keep safe."
Lana smiled, "thank you. Is it Linda who's in charge right now?"
Alex nodded and turned to go back to work as Lana turned to leave. She couldn't help but smile once again at the happy forger.
Lana found Linda in the usual spot. "Linda! Did we lose anyone? Is everything okay?"
Linda looked up from the paperwork she was reviewing, "Yes, we are okay. We weren't even really injured that much."
Lana looked around before approaching her closer. "You look stronger. Did you evolve?"
Linda looked shocked, "yes. Wevil saw the whole thing so I hope Quinn doesn't get mad."
Lana shook her head, "not going to happen. How much does he know?"
"I don't know. I didn't talk to him much. I was embarrassed. He saw me eating a body then evolve. I told him not to talk to anyone about it or I would kill him."
Lana laughed, "how nice. Do you trust him?"
"He was part of the Parasites so I hated him for the longest time but so far… He seems to want to be here."
"Do you need any help with anything?"
"Not at the moment. I have everything under control."
"Any news on Peter and Layla?"
"None. I hope they're okay."
