Chapter 259 - Caser’s Reward

The next morning, Minx woke feeling quite refreshed, a welcome experience. She looked over at the man she always found beautiful and enjoyed the colors of his aura before Angelina started crying. She quickly got out of bed and grabbed their daughter and got her feeding. She watched her husband sleep as their daughter ate.

Soon the twins were also waking up. Angelina was done and changed. Minx continued holding her because she wanted to. She put the baby down and got the twins ready for the day. Their nighttime diapers were both dry and she praised them both for a job well-done.

They both smiled brightly at their mother then Oliva started in again, "dadadadadadada."

Minx chuckled, "yeah, I'll get you dadada…" She picked the twins up together, all dressed, and headed for her room.

Sil was just waking up and Olivia got all excited, kicking her feet, "dadadadadada!"

He opened his eyes at the sound of her voice and smiled widely at the sight. Minx put them down on the bed and they scurried to their father. He held them both tightly and a tear leaked from his eye. Wiping it way quickly, he realized what he was missing by being gone so much. They were getting so big and he was missing so much.

Kissing them both on the forehead, "Alright, gotta get up. We have things to do today!"

Once everyone was ready, they told Raven where they were going and were off. Midas saw them at breakfast and Minx filled him in. He stated he was going as well. Fiza was being left behind. This was a day for family in her mind.

On the way there, Minx decided to discuss another topic.

"My Love, while you were cleaning up that mess from the kids last night, I was treating Caser. He was seriously wounded in the battle. Once we had him back together, he said Stephie, one of his children, wants to bond with one of your little sisters. I haven't discussed it with your sister yet but is it okay if she does? I'll have to move her in with us temporarily to teach her how to take care of him."

"Do you think they are old enough for an animal companion?"

Minx laughed, "are they old enough to fight off Hilston and his goons?"

Sil chuckled, "point taken. Yes. If she wants the same, she may have her friend."

Minx smiled, "Thank you. I'll talk to her this evening then."

He put his arm around her, "we will talk to her this evening as long as my brothers don't come and take me away."

She chuckled, "okay, we."

Soon they were at the entrance to the tunnels. As usual, Griddlebone and the young ones posted as sentry while the rest went below. They were almost to the lab when Minx heard, "Botan."

She looked around and held out an arm to Sil to signal for him to not be alarmed. She realized it was the same Demon-tier as before. She bowed slightly, "Thank you for your assistance yesterday."

"Of coursssssssse, your performancccccce wasssss exemplary… Your mate, besssside you. We offer our thanksssssss."

Minx looked at Sil and smiled. Minx noticed Caser was bowing this time.

"Your friend Cassssser, he ssssssaved my grandchildren. He issssssss now hailed asssssss a hero. I have a gift for him. Do you mind if he comesssssss with me?"

"Of course, I don't mind as long as he doesn't."

Caser stood and walked forward. He didn't know those snakes would eventually evolve into the grand creature in front of him. He decided he would stop eating them. Minx smiled and nodded to the demon-tier and headed to her lab, holding her husband's hand. She opened the door then went through first. She had Sil come in second so he could be registered in the system as authorized to be there. She also registered the baby. Sil found that process interesting. Logan's lab didn't have that kind of security.

As they rounded the corner and Sil saw the interior, he stopped. Part of him thought back to the Daisy base that had been taken over. Another part of him thought this place was far more advanced. There didn't appear to be a single computer in there but he felt in his bones, this was incorrect. Would Logan even understand any of this?

Minx went to the same computer she used last time. She asked the plant-computer to show her the front entrance. It did. She smiled.

"Sil, I need you to go to the entrance, stand outside it. I want to see if I can see you on this screen here."

"What screen?" Sil asked.

She chuckled, "the one projected into my mind."

Sil smiled and did as she asked. She saw him leave and told the door to close behind him. To her surprise, it did. She could now see him looking round. She told the door to open and it did. She was stunned. The good thing was, if she was in her lab, Sil could come to her. The bad thing was how long it took the door to open and close. She reenergized the lab and plugged a memory crystal in that wasn't quite full. She looked for files on their species, downloaded the files to the crystal and retrieved it.

"Let's go back home!"

As they left, Minx noticed Caser wasn't back yet. She went to the opening and saw Caser near the back wall. In front of him was a pile of crystals. He was eating them. She grinned. "Caser, we are heading home now. I'll bring Griddlebone back with us."

He seemed to smile her direction then ate another crystal.

Minx took Sil's hand as they each had a baby – Sil, Minx, and Midas. Shalt lead the way out as "security" for the day. At the entrance, Minx told Griddlebone what Caser was doing and assured her everything was okay. She insisted on staying and waiting for her mate but her children were told to follow Minx.
