The HR director arrived at Liam's office at 7:28 PM, two minutes early, looking nervous.
"Mr. Black, I have the information you requested." She placed a folder on his desk. "However, there are some... complications."
Liam's stomach dropped. "What complications?"
"Ms. Reed's cell phone number has been disconnected. The number we have on file now leads to a 'no longer in service' message." The director shifted uncomfortably. "And the emergency contact information she provided—her mother's address—that's all we have. Ms. Reed never updated her personal address during her employment, as she was residing in your penthouse per the—" She stopped, clearly uncomfortable with what she knew. "Per your arrangement."
"What about her apartment?" Liam demanded. "The one she kept before moving into the penthouse?"
"We have that address on file from her initial employment application four years ago." The director pulled out a paper. "But there's no guarantee she's returned there."
