Chapter 297 - A Little Game Decided by Fate

In the original story, the gorilla at least waited until he was defeated and heard about the Beast King's death before yielding...

But now, he had surrendered without even putting up a fight.

It was quite a letdown.

If Armored Gorilla could have read Lexon's thoughts at this moment, he would have surely thought:

'You slaughtered the Beast King like he was nothing! What's left to resist?!'

"Please, spare my life..." The gorilla pressed his head against the ground, his palms flat in a posture of complete submission.

"Well, I suppose you could live..."

"I understand!" Before Lexon could finish, the gorilla nodded frantically, showing how sensible he was. "I come from an organization called the House of Evolution. Our creator is Dr. Genus. We are all genetically modified monsters created by him. Because the Doctor saw you kill Mosquito Girl through his surveillance, he sent us to obtain powerful human genes..."

"Ah... I don't care about that," Lexon interrupted the gorilla's incessant babbling.

After all, he already knew the basics; there was nothing worth learning.

"Huh? Then what do you want...?"

"Just tell me the location of the House of Evolution," Lexon said with a smile.

"Then... if I tell you... will you let me go?" the gorilla asked tentatively.

"Guess," Lexon replied. The smile on his face remained friendly and kind, but his Nichirin Sword was already resting against Armored Gorilla's neck before anyone knew it.

"The House of Evolution is located at..."

Very straightforwardly, Armored Gorilla blurted out the location of his headquarters.

"A wise choice," Lexon said, his eyes narrowing as he smiled.

"Does that mean you'll let me go?" the gorilla asked hopefully.

However, Lexon's next words shattered his relief and hope. "Let's let fate decide."

Saying that, Lexon pulled a coin out of his spatial ring.

No further explanation was needed.

His mischievous streak was acting up again.

"Wha... wha... what do you mean..." The gorilla's speech faltered.

"This is what I mean." Lexon casually tossed the coin into the air.

The coin fell, and he caught it.

"If it's 'heads,' you die. If it's 'tails,' you don't," Lexon told the gorilla with a smile.

'How can this human say such terrifying things with a smile?! And he's actually leaving it entirely to luck! Shouldn't he at least let me guess first?!'

The gorilla found it completely incomprehensible.

But since the other party held all the cards, there was nothing he could do about it.

He could only stare nervously at the hand clutching the coin, unsure which side was up.

'Please let it be tails!'

The thought had never been so intense.

Lexon slowly opened his fingers, revealing the upward face of the coin.

It was...

Tails!

He didn't have to die!!

Underneath his steel helmet, the gorilla couldn't help but feel incredibly moved. Tears welled in his eyes as he let out a massive sigh of relief.

However...

"It's 'heads'," with a smile, Lexon blatantly and openly flipped the coin over, revealing the "heads" side.

Huh?

The gorilla froze, his mind going blank. Infinite terror, mixed with the feeling of being toyed with, surged in his heart.

"You!... You!" The gorilla slowly backed away on the ground.

"Just kidding." In the next moment, the terrifying human before his eyes maintained his smile, speaking in a relaxed and casual tone.

The stunned gorilla's mind stalled again.

"Relax, it's just a joke," Lexon sheathed his Nichirin Sword.

He stepped closer to the gorilla, squatting down to look him in the eye. "What? Isn't it funny?"

"Ha... ha... ha... It's hilarious! Hilarious!" Facing this monstrous human, how could the gorilla dare do anything but comply?

He forced out a laugh to match Lexon's words.

But the trembling and panic in his voice completely betrayed his state of mind.

"Glad you liked it." Lexon stood up and patted the gorilla's shoulder. "Come on, take me to the House of Evolution."

Although he already knew the location... since fate let the creature live, he might as well use him as a guide.

"Take you to the House of Evolution..." The gorilla seemed hesitant.

"What? You don't want to?" Lexon glanced at him.

Instantly, the gorilla shuddered. That feeling of dread from a moment ago returned.

'It's over... This is going to be a lifelong trauma...'

While the thought surfaced, the gorilla explained to Lexon, "In the House of Evolution, I'm only ranked third. The Beast King you cut down was only second... There is another who ranks first."

"While you're strong enough to kill the Beast King easily... the terrifying Carnage Kabuto, who holds the top spot, is just as capable. He's in a league of his own..."

"I know you're very strong... but... Carnage Kabuto is even stronger. He's a failed product of genetic modification with almost invincible power... but no normal sanity."

"He's the most terrifying existence the Doctor ever created!"

"Right now, Carnage Kabuto is deep within the many layers of protection at the House of Evolution... If you go there, the Doctor will definitely release his uncontrollable trump card to deal with you! So I suggest you don't go..."

After that long speech, the gorilla was actually kindly advising Lexon not to go to his death.

"I didn't expect you to be so kindhearted?" Lexon looked at the gorilla with curiosity.

Normally, after being treated like that, shouldn't he be hoping Lexon would go to the House of Evolution and get killed by the strongest, Carnage Kabuto?

'It's because you want to take me with you... A berserk Carnage Kabuto doesn't distinguish between friend and foe...'

The death-fearing gorilla grumbled inwardly.

"I truly hope you don't go. You'll die," Armored Gorilla said with a heavy, serious tone.

"Thank you for the kind warning," Lexon replied with a polite smile. "But don't worry... I'll let you go in first."

"..." Looking at the smile on the other's face, the gorilla felt that this wasn't a human at all, but a devil in a human's skin.

"I'm going to say goodbye to someone else first; you wait inside for a bit." Before the gorilla could process the words, Lexon's eyes suddenly turned into the blood-red Sharingan.

Kamui.

Suddenly, the space around the gorilla warped.

What is this?!

The gorilla tried to flee in terror, but he found himself unable to move.

In an instant, the gorilla's massive frame vanished completely.

He had been forcibly pulled into the Kamui dimension.

Having Kamui really is convenient, Lexon thought.

He felt that compared to Gyokko's Blood Demon Art, which required demon transformation or pots, Kamui was ultimately much more efficient.

After all, for his current self, using Mangekyo techniques didn't place any burden on him.

Naturally, he chose the superior method.

However, the late Mr. Gyokko probably wouldn't even get a chance for his Blood Demon Art to see the light of day.

Truly tragic.
