Chapter 307 - Going Undercover and the Meteorite

Compared to when he still had to rely on the "Earth-Moon Portal" in the Naruto world, the current Lexon no longer needed such a method to easily reach the moon.

He simply had to activate Six Paths Mode, [Demon Transformation], and the [Eight Inner Gates].

Then he could reach the lunar surface within ten minutes.

Of course, these are professional maneuvers; it's best not to imitate them.

"It's roughly in this position..." Lexon murmured as he searched for the God's location based on the coordinates he had previously pinned in Vaccine Man's mental space.

A short while later, Lexon arrived at what appeared to be the ruins of an altar.

Upon the surface of the dilapidated walls, various sacrificial patterns were depicted.

'A place where ancient creatures once sacrificed to the God?'

Lexon wondered.

'But... why build it on the moon?'

Without dwelling on these questions for long, Lexon walked to the center of the broken altar and reached out.

He sensed the existence of an alternate dimension there.

According to his tracking, the God should be lurking within.

"I'm coming in..." Lexon didn't know what his expression looked like as he spoke.

With a swing of his arm and a surge of power, he bridged the gap between the alternate dimension and reality.

Out of thin air... he tore open a rift.

"Is the God home?" Lexon greeted as he poked his head inside.

But in the next instant, his expression froze.

"There's nothing here?" Lexon exclaimed in shock.

Within his perception and sight, he had explored every corner of the dimension but found no sign of any living creature.

One could even say... there wasn't so much as a single hair.

Let alone the little piglet of a God that was his target.

'Did it run away?'

Lexon thought, puzzled.

He really hadn't expected the God to just bolt.

Could the lesson from last time have been too profound?

Did it trigger a cautious survival instinct?

Mr. Lexon, who felt he had only contributed a small amount of effort, found this hard to comprehend.

However, now that the God had fled, he truly had no other options.

While the sensory range he obtained from the White Snake Sage was vast, it was clearly impossible to cover an entire planet.

At the very least, he would need some kind of medium to find the God's location.

Then that was that.

Lexon temporarily abandoned this objective.

He planned to return to Earth.

It was fine to leave the God alone for now; he had other ways to lure it out anyway.

For example, using Genjutsu to amplify the desires of a power-hungry creature, thereby tracking the God's movements when it bestowed power upon them.

Just like it did with Vaccine Man and the later Homeless Emperor.

There would be opportunities.

No rush.

Subsequently, Lexon applied another series of buffs and flew toward Earth.

He didn't go to watch the sparring match between Smoker, Fubuki, and Genos, choosing instead to return to the apartment.

Afterward, he immediately created a Wood Clone.

This Wood Clone was different from all his previous ones.

Its strength had reached the unprecedented peak of the Six Paths level, and... it was even imbued with a touch of malice.

He had filtered out the "easygoing" trait of his original body.

In other words, compared to the original, this clone was a bit more "evil" in personality.

Next, Lexon ordered this Wood Clone to head to the not-yet-fully-formed "Monster Association" beneath the apartment building.

Indeed, beneath the uninhabited area where Saitama lived, there was a monster gathering called the Association.

A monster organization led by the terrifyingly powerful Monster King Orochi.

The matters regarding the Monster Association were a major plot point in the middle and later stages of the original story.

Lexon's goal was to have the clone join the "Monster Association" and consume the so-called "Monster Cells" that could transform humans into monsters. This would allow him to monitor their actions while blending into their ranks.

It would be even better if it could snag a high-ranking position within the "Monster Association."

His perception couldn't fully penetrate the deep underground, so this method was the most straightforward.

Creating a clone with a different personality from the original was also to ensure it integrated better into the "Monster Association."

As for why not wipe out the "Monster Association" right now?

Well... the current "Monster Association" wasn't even in its final form yet...

You can't slaughter the piglets when you're raising pigs.

That would be a waste...

...

Saitama didn't return until near evening.

According to him, the so-called Paradisers had been easily dealt with.

A group of unemployed bums who had somehow acquired battle suits were naturally taken down by the bald man with one punch each.

However, he encountered a ninja named Sonic or something along the way...

That guy was the main reason he was delayed.

Originally, Saitama hadn't planned on sending the ninja to prison, but as a ninja, Speed-o'-Sound Sonic threatened the safety of civilians to force a duel with the casual hero.

So, once Saitama realized he was a villain, he knocked him out with one punch and sent him to prison.

When it came to humans, he still had no intention of using lethal force.

If Sonic had been a monster, his body would probably be scattered across the horizon by now.

Meanwhile, Fubuki and Genos's training also ended in the evening.

Fubuki and Genos were covered in bruises and scars.

But they weren't fatal; clearly, Smoker had held back.

Since it was just sparring, there was no way he would use lethal force.

Both of them felt they had gained much from the session. They checked in briefly before heading home to recover and digest their gains.

The day passed in its usual mundane fashion.

...

The weather over the next two days was somewhat poor, particularly on the first day when there was torrential rain and even a tsunami.

It got to the point where Saitama felt compelled to intervene, resolving the crisis in the coastal city.

Under these circumstances, the duel between the two was naturally postponed once again.

The weather finally cleared up on the third day.

It was a sunny day.

"Beep beep beep!" At that moment, Lexon's phone suddenly rang.

Lexon answered, "Hello?"

"Le... Mr. Lexon..." Guqi's panicked voice came through the line.

He was so desperate that he even forgot to use the hero name, calling Lexon by his real name.

"What happened?"

"We just detected that in one hour, a colossal meteorite will fall upon City Z, where you reside... The impact will annihilate all of City Z and even affect the neighboring cities. The Association hopes you can go and stop this 'Dragon-level' crisis!"

Guqi pleaded sincerely on the phone.

This crisis was clearly no small matter.

It ranked high even among Dragon-level threats; ordinary S-Class heroes were completely helpless against it.

In the original story, even S-Class Genos and the third-ranked S-Class "Silver Fang" Bang had no way to resist such overwhelming power.

Had Saitama not intervened, those two would have certainly died.

The Association was well aware of how critical this crisis was, which is why they only notified the S-Class heroes.

Lexon was notified as an exception because Guqi and his group were intimately aware of his true strength.

"Mr. Lexon... Saitama-sensei..." Before Lexon could give Guqi a clear answer, Genos's voice drifted in from the balcony.

Clearly, he had also received the notification.

"What's wrong? What's going on?" Saitama asked, scratching his head. He had basically started living at Lexon's place by now.

As for the meteorite...

Lexon considered it briefly. Without saying a word, he turned his gaze in a specific direction, his eyes instantly shifting into the Nine-Tomoe Rinnegan.

Kamui.

The ultimate ocular power spanned the vast distance, targeting the objective.

...

Above the clouds, the wind howled as a massive meteorite, wreathed in scorching fire, plummeted at incredible speed with a terrifying momentum.

There was no doubt that with such size and velocity... the moment it struck the ground...

The aftermath would be nothing short of catastrophic!

Not just City Z... probably at least three of the surrounding cities would be largely decimated!

But in the next instant, a ripple of spatial distortion suddenly appeared around the meteorite, forming an eerie spiral vortex.

The plummeting meteorite seemed to fall into a state of stasis, abruptly frozen in mid-air.

Then, a suction force of indescribable power erupted from the vortex, violently warping the space around the meteorite and drawing it in rapidly.

Afterward, the distorted space gradually smoothed over and vanished, returning to its original state.

In an instant, the massive meteorite had completely disappeared.

...

"Hello? Mr. Lexon? Can we count on you?" Guqi was still pleading on the phone.

"The Association says a meteorite is coming down..." Genos was still explaining the situation to Saitama.

"Let's go, Lexon. We have to take care of this." Saitama said to Lexon after hearing the news.

"It's already taken care of." Lexon simply said to Saitama and Genos, while also speaking into the phone.

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

Guqi on the phone, Saitama, and Genos all let out sounds of pure bewilderment.

...

Inside the City Z branch of the Hero Association.

A silver-haired old man, slightly hunched yet with incredibly lean muscles beneath his tight-fitting clothes, stood there listening to the report on the phone.

This old man was the third-ranked S-Class hero, "Silver Fang" Bang.

A master of martial arts.

As Bang listened to the voice on the other end, his dignified expression suddenly shifted, and his calm tone broke into a high-pitched exclamation. "It's already taken care of? The meteorite vanished? How is that possible?"

"Ah... yes, 'Silver Fang'... it was the work of a hero in City Z." The person on the other end of the line was clearly also in a state of disbelief.

"..." Bang remained silent for a long time before asking, "Which S-Class hero did it?"

"Apologies... that hero doesn't seem to want to disclose his identity, so I don't know either." the staff member replied.

"Alright, I see." Bang hung up and gazed up at the branch's ceiling for a long time, muttering in deep confusion, "Just who could it have been?"
