"Wow, this place is beautiful." The words slipped from my lips in a breath of wonder as the car rolled to a gentle stop in front of the rest house. The entire facade opened to the vast ocean, the kind of view that looked like it had been painted by the sky itself. Sunlight glittered over the waves, turning everything gold.
We were still in the country, but far enough from Marco's world for me to finally breathe. I had never been here before, only seen it in magazines, on television, and on travel blogs that praised it as one of the most serene hideaways in Lushvale City.
Lushvale was the capital of the north, progressive and flourishing, known for its beaches and its quiet sense of luxury. It was the second best city in the country, and arriving here felt like stepping into a different life.
