The sports car sped along the highway, but Xu Dan still managed to free one hand to call the police.
His number had already been marked for priority response—routed straight to a special line.
The one who picked up was the same smooth-talking police captain from the day before.
"Hello, sir."
"Time to earn your badge, Captain."
"Understood! I'll be right there to meet you!" the captain replied, his excitement barely contained.
Every cop in New York dreamed of taking down Kingpin. Sure, some had been bought off temporarily, but most knew that capturing him would bring enormous rewards.
And this captain had already done the math—whatever risks came with the operation, the payoff would be worth it.
As Xu Dan's car roared into the city limits, Bullseye—the lunatic assassin—was still right behind him.He didn't realize the police had already begun closing in, surrounding him bit by bit.
"Heh… cops," Bullseye sneered from his motorcycle.
In his eyes, American cops were useless—if he had to take down a few to make a point, so be it.But his belt only carried a limited number of throwing weapons. He couldn't afford to waste them on "small fry."
They were reserved for Xu Dan—the one target who truly deserved them.
He swerved into a narrow alley barely wide enough for a person to walk through. Police cars couldn't follow.
Snatching a few rusty metal scraps from the ground, Bullseye grinned wickedly and burst out the other end of the alley.
Moments later, the police rounded the corner.
Bullseye's smile grew colder.
With a flick of his wrist, the jagged scrap of metal sliced through the air—so fast and precise it could've been a bullet.
Crash!
The windshield of a patrol car shattered, and the officer inside slumped over. The car spun out of control and slammed into a nearby storefront.
If Xu Dan hadn't avoided his earlier attacks, that could've been him.The thought filled Bullseye with rage.Unforgivable.
He gunned the throttle and tore after the sports car again.
Suddenly, a gunshot rang out from behind him.A bullet whizzed past—but the shooter's aim wasn't nearly as precise as his own.
Bullseye glanced back. It was the same police captain from before. And when he fired, it was like giving permission—dozens of other officers drew their weapons and opened fire.
Bullets whistled past. Even with Bullseye's uncanny reflexes, he couldn't dodge them all.He hurled every piece of metal and every dart from his belt in return.
Whizz—whizz—whizz!
Each throw found its mark.Within seconds, several police vehicles were disabled, their tires shredded. The chaos bought him precious time.
But under the storm of gunfire, a few bullets inevitably found their target.
Bullseye staggered as one hit his leg.
"Agh! Damn it!"
Pain flared white-hot. Even a graze was an insult—to him, every hit was a stain on perfection. He abandoned his bike and darted into another alley, the only cover left.
He was panting, bleeding, and furious. As he tried to climb the fire escape, he froze.
Xu Dan was waiting there.
Calm. Silent. As if he had been expecting him all along.
It felt like walking straight into someone else's trap. Every move he'd made, every escape route—predicted perfectly. He was nothing but a puppet, a clown dancing for someone else's amusement.
"Why?! Why are you humiliating me like this?!"
Bullseye's voice cracked with rage. He lived for precision, for control—and today, both had been stripped from him.
Xu Dan only shook his head lightly. "Bullseye, I never meant to kill you. We're not even in the same league. As for 'humiliation'…" He smirked. "I was just having a little fun. You were the one foolish enough to play along."
That single, casual insult hit harder than any bullet.
Bullseye's vision blurred red with fury. His mind snapped.
"I'll kill you!"
In a fit of rage, he tore at the wound on his arm, pulling out a deformed bullet with his bare fingers. The pain was excruciating—but he didn't care.
He held the blood-stained bullet between his fingertips, eyes gleaming with madness.
"Ahhh!"
With a scream, he hurled it.The tiny fragment spun through the air faster than most guns could shoot—a perfect throw, backed by all the strength and fury he had left.
It should have been impossible to dodge.
But Xu Dan didn't even flinch.
Clang!
The sound of metal striking metal rang out—the bullet had been deflected cleanly.
Xu Dan's expression didn't change.
Bullseye froze, eyes wide. The fight was already over.
