Just to make this helmet, he also needed an expert in biological sciences—someone extremely, extremely skilled. Or maybe even a team of them.
Neural linkage experiments were never safe. They required taking risks. One wrong move, and the gaming helmet could become a nerve killer—or worse: death or paralysis.
Biological sciences…
"The Marvel Universe is huge. Who could possibly be the right candidate?" Xu Dan tapped his forehead, pondering.
Neural import… The thought immediately reminded him of Ultron. Ultron wanted to transfer himself into a new body—the body that would later become Vision…
Wrong. That wasn't the point.
The relevant technology would come later, when Tony asked Dr. Banner to upload J.A.R.V.I.S. into a vibranium body.
Right! Bruce Banner!
The man with seventeen doctorates, one of the wisest humans alive.
"Find Banner!!"
Xu Dan nearly jumped out of his seat. A complex puzzle that had been plaguing him was suddenly solved thanks to a small hint from a film plot.
Sure enough, watching movies paid off. Like the scene on the spaceship with Spider-Man and Ebony Maw—it was all a lesson in strategy and deduction.
"Finding Banner may be difficult, but it's easier than this game!"
Xu Dan leaned back in his chair, fingers tapping lightly on the keyboard. Through his unique methods, he searched for references to 'Mr. Green' and 'Mr. Blue'.
After Banner fled to Brazil, he had communicated online using encrypted identities—Mr. Green and Mr. Blue—discussing ways to fully eliminate the monster within him.
But in Xu Dan's eyes, all encryption is just a door—one you can open if you know how. After endless filtering, he finally found some chat records.
Judging by the messages, this 'Mr. Green' was indeed Bruce Banner.
Whenever Banner transformed and grew stronger, he risked losing control and becoming the Hulk, wreaking destruction. To protect innocents, he'd gone to a remote area to learn to control his emotions.
After locking the coordinates from the chat, Xu Dan pulled up a map of South America. Banner was likely hiding in a small village in Brazil: the ghetto of Hochinia.
From above, it looked like a dump, though the village itself was clean and quiet.
Xu Dan smiled. Dr. Banner… quite the elusive wolf.
He reopened the chat room between Mr. Green and Mr. Blue and forcefully added a new account, naming it 'Penguin'.
Coincidentally, this was right when Mr. Green and Mr. Blue were communicating.
Mr. Lan: You need to send me more blood samples.Mr. Midori: Why?Penguin: Banner, that Mr. Blue you've been trusting? He can't cure you.Mr. Green: !!! Who are you?Mr. Lan: Mr. Green, have you told anyone our secret?Penguin: I have a way to effectively seal the monster inside you. If you rely on that person, you'll suffer in vain.Mr. Lan: What do you mean? Are you some kind of collaborator?Mr. Midori: …Penguin: The Hulk can't be killed, at least not by him. Your only goal should be to suppress it. I'll send you a shipment tomorrow. Check it carefully.
With that, Xu Dan deleted the account, leaving no trace online. Only Mr. Lan remained, frantically typing responses.
Brazil. Hochinia.
In a dilapidated room, Bruce Banner stared at the sudden, cryptic messages appearing on his screen. Abrupt and intense, they revealed so much: his secret with Mr. Lan, his location, his condition.
A creeping unease washed over him. Someone had eyes on him—like the gaze of a god.
Could it be someone from General Ross's network?
"Didi!!"
At that moment, his old phone rang, an unknown number flashing on the screen.
"First, I have no interest in the monster within you. If you trust me, continue your current path. Tomorrow—or the day after—I will send a shipment. Stay in your slum. The shipment contains two things: my business card, and a temporary cure for your condition. After trying it, you will understand my sincerity. Then, if you want to cooperate, follow the instructions on the card."
"Hiss…"
Banner walked to the window, scanning the streets cautiously. Nothing seemed unusual—yet the feeling of being watched lingered.
Who in the world could see him like this?
Banner picked up the phone again, staring at the message. Could he trust a stranger?
A sudden messenger knew his secrets and his location. If this was Ross's doing, he could be caught at any moment.
And Mr. Lan? The person he'd trusted all along had never given a complete solution for his condition.
Now this bold newcomer, 'Penguin,' had sent the cure first.
Banner's decision was made—he would gamble.
