Chapter 84 - “The right-arm power system is damaged!”

The Iron Overlord's arm was powered by a dual-hydraulic system; destroying just one exposed hydraulic unit did nothing. Both had to be disabled simultaneously.Pipes, however, were different—without them, the hydraulics were nothing but dead weight.

With the power cut from his right arm, the entire limb drooped uselessly. Obadiah panicked, firing wildly—every shot slammed harmlessly into the ground.

"Tat-tat-tat!!"

The Gatling rounds scattered like bursting popcorn. Xu Dan instantly dodged, avoiding the ricocheting bullets.

"The right-arm power system is damaged!"

"Fak!" Obadiah roared, hurriedly killing the weapon systems and swiveling the Iron Overlord around.

He still had several rockets installed in the left arm. Fire loss didn't concern him—he believed that as long as even one shot hit Xu Dan, victory was his.

After all, everyone was just flesh and blood. Who wasn't afraid of bullets?

Tony was truly a genius—this was the warframe he had given him!

Obadiah's fear gradually morphed into smugness.

He spun around and fired a rocket straight at Xu Dan.

"BOOM!!!"

The violent blast lit up the night sky.

And the result became immediately clear—it missed.

"Damn it!"

Xu Dan couldn't block a rocket head-on. Instead, he triggered Wind Step, slipping into stealth. With it—and all his passive talents—his movements became even more fluid and unpredictable.

He circled behind the Iron Overlord in an instant, raised his blade, and brought it down with full force at the left-arm joint.

Boom!

Without suspense or resistance, the strike severed the arm's power lines. Even the alloy shell was cut nearly through the joint, leaving a gash over ten centimeters deep.

The left arm now looked more pathetic than the right—it dangled uselessly in midair.

The powerful strike left Xu Dan's sword slightly curled at the edge; after all, it was only blue-grade equipment, and it was cutting through steel forged with modern military technology.

A bit of damage was understandable.

Still—after slicing through reinforced alloy by nearly ten centimeters—the sword's power was undeniable.

Any so-called "famous blade" sold in modern shops would've shattered on the first strike. This blue gear was practically indestructible by comparison.

Perfect for slaughtering Obadiah—and bathing it in his blood.

The Iron Overlord, now stripped of both arms, was like a tiger with its fangs ripped out.

This was the flaw of this early model. Unlike Tony's later Iron Man suits—whose arms could still be manually lifted and whose weapons worked as long as the systems were intact—the Iron Overlord had no such versatility.

Now it couldn't raise its arms at all.

All it had left were two heavy legs—far too slow to keep up with Xu Dan.

Obadiah never imagined he would lose this miserably.

Before he had even truly fought Xu Dan, he had already been defeated.

Helplessly. Pathetically. Unwillingly.

But Xu Dan couldn't care less about Obadiah's unwillingness.

The long sword in his hand erupted in a brilliant blaze—radiant as the August sun.

The dazzling sword-light illuminated a full hundred meters around them—it was a storm of blades.

Xu Dan's small figure stood before the Iron Overlord, just one man and one sword.

The size difference was enormous, yet Xu Dan's presence utterly dwarfed the steel giant.

The Iron Overlord had barely made its dramatic debut before being reduced to a wreck by one man and one blade.

One of its massive steel arms was practically severed. What kind of force was that?

This was just an ordinary-looking sword—yet it carved through alloy as if it were tofu.

And now the sword light burst forth again.

The blade-light slammed into the Iron Overlord's center—right where Obadiah sat.

CLANG—CLANG—CLANG!!!

The roar of metal being shredded echoed endlessly. The seven-second storm of sword strikes pushed the massive Iron Overlord back nearly ten meters.

What terrifying power.

When the light finally faded, the Iron Overlord was unrecognizable.

The once sleek armored shell was now twisted scrap, dented and torn from head to toe.

The arc reactor in its chest had been reduced to powdered dust.

As for Obadiah—he hadn't been cut apart by the sword light directly.

He had simply been shaken to death by the impact of the strike.

A miserable end.

Xu Dan looked up—Obadiah's bald head hung forward, blood leaking from seven orifices, his body grotesquely distorted.

Hideous.

Xu Dan raised his sword and hurled it.

The weapon he had just exchanged for skewered straight through Obadiah's chest.

It pinned both man and armor to the ground with one final, resounding crash.

Inside the car.

Tony had witnessed everything that had just happened.

For the first time, he realized the game developer he often chatted with possessed such terrifying combat power.

Terrifying.

He couldn't help but think back—if he hadn't shown proper respect when they first met, would he have been sliced into minced meat?

If he hadn't agreed to cooperate last time… would he have been chopped into eighteen pieces and fed to dogs?

The fear hit him late—but hard.

He was friends with such a powerful human being.

Lucky.So lucky.

If Xu Dan were ever to become a business rival… assassination would be the least of his concerns.

Fresh from a kidnapping, Tony's imagination spiraled. He didn't even notice Xu Dan casually brushing off his hands and walking toward the car.

Click.

Xu Dan slid into the driver's seat.

"Alright. You know what to do next, right? Mr. Obadiah died in a car accident."

Tony nodded silently. Like hell he dared say anything else. What if he ended up sliced into a thousand pieces? Who could withstand that?

"Yes, yes!"

"And let S.H.I.E.L.D. know. We don't want the police surrounding this place tomorrow."

"Yes, yes!"

Tony was still replaying the battle in his head. The scene had been so overwhelming that even when they reached the late-night snack shop, his face remained stiff.

Not from shock—From fear.

He had just realized what kind of monster of a fighter stood beside him.

This only strengthened his resolve to upgrade and build the Mark series suits as soon as possible. But before that, he needed to fulfill his promise to Xu Dan.

As for Obadiah's death—Tony felt no nostalgia at all. He had once treated the man like family… but after discovering the truth—

The pain of that night was more than enough.
