From afar, I could hear the water crashing heavily against the river bank, and lightning threatening in the sky, sparking. Could Fiérrés control the weather? The air was icy with its malicious intent, and the trees howled, as the leaves danced. I took off the huge cardigan that held my Crown, and hid it close to the tree.
The cold wrapped around my bare skin like a captor. What was I going to do? I didn't know but I wasn't running.
The Fiérré came forward, swishing its sword backward, ready to launch its attack, and honestly, I don't know where I got the strength or the idea from, but I suddenly ripped my dress, tearing it all the way around till it was less than half its original length. My legs were freer. Breeze whipped up the remnant of my dress above my thighs, while I picked up a strong tree branch.
I watched the Fiérré, looking it in the eye, while my fingers wrapped my cloth around the branch.
