Morning sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating a lone figure standing before it, staring up at the sky. As the frame moved closer, the figure became clear — it was Ethan, his expression far from his usual cheerful smile. He stood deep in thought, the quiet weight on his face unlike him.
A moment later, someone stepped forward behind him. It was Ivan.
Ethan turned and looked at him. Seeing Ethan in such a mood made Ivan feel a pang of guilt, but he pushed the feeling aside and asked, "Are you ready?"
Ethan nodded without saying a word.
Both of them grabbed their equipment. Then they turned invisible and slipped out of the hotel.
They walked along the streets, scanning an advanced device that displayed countless layers of information — information far beyond what the public could ever access. It was as if they had hacked into the world itself.
Soon, they took to the sky, flying at unimaginable speeds, moving from country to country in search of the amethyst mythos.
They kept searching. Nothing.
Far away from each other now, Ivan looked frustrated and called out through the comms, "Ethan, did you find anything?"
"No," Ethan replied. "Nothing."
Ivan exhaled sharply, then used his gadget to call Natasha. He contacted the Inner Zone, and the call was answered. Natasha appeared on the screen with Mr. Daniel standing behind her.
"Did you find the amethyst mythos?" she asked.
Ivan shook his head sadly. "No. Do you have any other clues?"
Mr. Daniel stepped forward, reached for a book on his shelf, and flipped through it for a couple of minutes. Eventually, he stopped and spoke.
"The last known record of the amethyst mythos… it was taken by the Unicyte."
Silence fell immediately. Even Ethan — normally so bright — froze at the name.
Natasha looked at Mr. Daniel. "You mean the same Unicyte we know?"
Mr. Daniel nodded. "Yes. Which means finding the amethyst mythos will be far more difficult than expected."
He continued, "To draw out the Unicyte, you must first locate an item known as Nythos."
Both Ethan and Ivan frowned in confusion.
Mr. Daniel explained, "Nythos is an item that tracks the Unicyte because it is part of their main core."
He then looked at Ivan with a somber expression.
"To find the Nythos, you'll need to search places that are isolated — areas people rarely visit."
With that, he ended the call, wishing them good luck.
The line disconnected.
Ethan and Ivan looked at each other, their expressions hardening. They both knew this mission was about to become far more complicated than they had imagined.
