"So, Jared, is the new slave coping alright?" Lilith asked the guard beside her as she kneaded dough, and folded it neatly into a basket beside her.
Jared scrunched up his nose, and rolled his eyes before answering.
"I wonder why you keep asking of that slave. It's starting to get annoying" He hissed.
"Can't I ask of her? She's just a new one, who wasn't expecting this kind of life at all. I just wanted to know how well she's adjusting," Lilith said, speaking calmly, as to not escalate Jared's anger.
Jared's her to-go partner. Short tempered and witty. But he's the closest royal guard to her. Even though at times, he can be pretty annoying, he always has her back no matter what.
"She isn't the first slave to coke in new like that, you know? Why do i feel like you've got a soft spot for her?" He eyed her, trying to gauge her reaction.
"What? Soft spot? Of course not. I treat and feel the same way for all the slaves under me. Why would I take a liking for her?"
