Chapter 12 - chapter 12: "You have a nice voice"

Tempest shuddered when she saw how beautiful it was. She resisted the urge to take it because she knew that the very necklace would cause her trouble in the future.

"Please Miss Grooks, accept it as our gift to you" the attendant said making sure to glance behind him.

Behind him was at the entrance of the Empirial room. There was a small gap left by the open door and a person's silhouette.

Tempest scoffed. Then closed the container used to preserve the necklace

"I'll not accept this valuable present but instead buy five more jewelry" Tempest said flipping the script.

This shocked the attendants present. Tempest scoffed when she réalisés that all of them knew what the necklace meant. Tempest didn't want to be chained in any lovey dovey. She had already gone through it once and wouldn't want to go through it again.

She casually picked the rest of the necklaces and paid for them.

Any woman would have been over the moon having being given the chance but Tempest blutantly refused.. the necklaces she chose costed her 230.5 million dollars. She hurriedly signed the ownership documents on those necklaces that she bought making sure to write down her address then she left. She didn't want to linger any longer to meet the cunning heir of the Le Plus Noir family.

She returned home.

"Young Master Miss Grooks refused to take the necklace" the stern face looking attendant reported

"Interesting" Michael Le Plus Noir spoke calmly.

Micheal sat on his dark oak long desk, tall and broad, his navy blue suit fitting him perfectly. His long dark hair brushed his shoulders, and his ocean-blue eyes seemed to hold secrets, sharp and deep.

After a while, he stood up. The chair moved back with a soft sound. He walked across the room with calm, steady steps. When he reached the tall windows that stretched from the floor to the ceiling, he stopped. The city spread out below him, full of lights and movement. His reflection looked back at him in the glass—strong brows, sharp eyes, and a face that seemed made for command. He stood there, watching the world, as if it belonged to him.

"Then I'll have to try harder to capture her heart"

"Boss, new Intel from those who you sent to watch Miss Grooks!" A bodyguard came forward with a document

Aiden is massive—6.5 feet tall, built like a tank with broad shoulders that block out light when he stands next to anyone. His frame was pure muscle: thick chest, strong arms corded with power, hands the size of dinner plates—capable of crushing skulls or cradling infants.

His skin was porcelain pale—almost ethereal—which starkly contrasted his messy blond hair. It was slightly slicked back but never perfectly styled; always a few rebellious strands fell over his forehead.*

*Thick eyebrows framed his piercing eyes: cold steel-gray in daylight… storm-blue when angry or aroused. They're intense—always watching, calculating—but right now? Looking over the documents handed over with complete calmness. That was never good.

Caymon beside him felt the aura of death coming out of him. Temperature in the room felt to have dropped as he slowly scanned the documents before him

He chuckled.

Caymon shuddered. Him chuckling was a sign that within an hour he might end up causing bloodshed. Caymon cleared his throat

"Instead of killing the love rival-compete against him to win your woman's attention. Killing him will make her hate you and become scared of you" Caymon explained.

He finally calmed down and looked more determined than ever at chasing the woman that had taken his interest.

DING! DING! DING! HOST WAKE UP! YOUR EMPIRE AWAITS!

Tempest abruptly woke up. She knew it was another mission that was always given to her in the morning. She had already got the rewards for the previous mission she accomplished.

"What are we doing today?" Tempest beamed

WITH AN EMPIRE, A QUEEN NEED LOYAL SUBJECTS! HOST NEEDS TO RECRUIT FIVE LOYAL SUBJECTS WITHIN 24 HOURS! REWARD: +2 CHARM AND +2 CONSTITUTION!

'The mission must be so easy that the system is giving me such rewards'

Tempest decided to open her status check on the system window

NAME: TEMPEST GROOKS

AGE: 25

CHARM: 3

STRENGTH: 3

AGILITY: 3

CONSTITUTION: 3

INTELLIGENCE: 1

Tempest almost fainted.

"My intelligence is only one? How? I know alot of things" Tempest defended herself.

Flora arrived at her bedroom and saw her confused look.

"Just because you know everything, it doesn't mean you are intelligent. Being intelligent means that you can think critically about a big problem and use a solution to solve it. Intelligence means that you can learn something quickly and be able to use it to your advantage" Flora explained then began to comb her hair then added "with intelligence, you can quickly adapt to the changes around you. So don't think too much about having a 1 in your intelligent quota. Perhaps the system made it that way inorder for you to unlock your potential"

Flora finished fixing her hair with a soft smile. Tempest was very grateful to have Flora by her side.

"Go take a bath, freshen up then come downstairs" Flora said then got out of her room.

Tempest took a hot bath. She brushed her teeth making sure to sing while doing it. She was sure that Flora could hear her singing from downstairs. She got out of the expensive bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body.

She then sat on the bed wondered how she was going to find skilled and loyal men. She then thought of hiring them through the dark web. She knew that the dark web will have details of where to find loyal people that she could trust. Tempest had already acquired the construction company and had already transferred ten billion for the construction of the Seven Star Hotel. She needed loyal people to do errands for her without question and deal with the paperwork.

She wore a peach-coloured oversized sweater and went downstairs.

"Aaaaaaaah!"

"You have a nice voice"
