His head felt heavy, his heartbeat still slowing down from the intensity of everything they had just done, and the warmth of Xin's body beside him made the exhaustion settle even deeper.
Still, even in that thick wave of fatigue, he couldn't help reaching for his phone, needing to check the time before letting himself rest.
When the screen lit up, it read 2:09 a.m.
For a moment he just stared at the glowing numbers, hardly able to believe what he was seeing. It didn't make sense that so much time had passed.
