When 5am came, Jun got out of the bed and walked straight to the bathroom after turning and tossing the entire night without a moment of sleep.
His head felt thick, his eyes heavy, and there was a dull ache behind them that came from lying awake for hours, replaying things he didn't even want to think about.
He was angry at himself for letting thoughts that had no importance dig their way into his mind and sit there, stubborn and intrusive.
His uncle's words were part of it, lingering in a corner of his thoughts no matter how much he tried to ignore them, but what bothered him more was Xin's message. He didn't know why it got under his skin the way it did.
Maybe because part of what Xin had said was true. Maybe because part of it pointed at something Jun didn't want to acknowledge... that somewhere inside him, without planning it, without wanting it, that.. maybe he actually liked Yushan that way.
And that alone felt dangerous in every way possible.
