Magnus stood in the corridor facing Carina, whose beautiful face was twisted into an expression of disdain that made her look far less attractive than usual.
She attempted to sidestep him, clearly not interested in any conversation, but he moved to block her path.
He had reached his limit with her games and manipulations, and someone needed to call her out on what she had done.
"Not so fast," Magnus said, his voice low and controlled despite the anger simmering beneath the surface.
Carina's eyes flashed with irritation as she looked up at him. "Move aside, Beta. I have no interest in whatever lecture you think you're about to deliver."
"I know what you did there," Magnus stated bluntly, not bothering with pleasantries or dancing around the subject. "You deliberately tripped Willow to make her spill wine on Dorian."
For a moment, surprise flickered across Carina's features before she quickly schooled her expression back into one of haughty indifference.
