Magnus woke to the sound of a shocked, ear-piercing scream that could have roused the entire castle.
His eyes flew open to find Carina sitting bolt upright in bed, staring at him with absolute horror, her green eyes wide as saucers.
"What are you doing in my bed?" She shrieked, scrambling backward until she nearly fell off the mattress.
Magnus blinked, still foggy with sleep, his mind struggling to catch up with the chaos erupting around him. "What? Can you not remember? You're in my bed."
If possible, Carina's expression became even more alarmed. Her face went from pale to flushed to pale again in the span of seconds.
"Your bed? Why am I in your bed? What did you—what did we—oh goddess!"
She immediately wrapped her arms around her body, patting herself down frantically before apparently realizing she was still fully clothed in her wrinkled ball gown from the night before.
