Almost six years have passed since that day. I learned many things, including that this orphanage only serves the Clan, meaning only Uchiha could live here. Therefore, my blood was tested, and it revealed that I'm Uchiha. With that, I could stay here until I need to move out.
"I'm back." I said, sliding back the wooden door and take off my sandals. What a body, 10 km without a single break, but I didn't sweat.
"Welcome back. How is your training?" Mikoto popped her head out just to see me as she kept cooking in the kitchen.
"I'm not done yet. Just came back since you told me to eat."
"Good boy. Have a seat."
Mikoto is now 16. She has grown into an elegant girl, and she's hella strong.
"Kaworu-kun, is it just me, or did I feel offended somehow?"
"I don't understand what you mean."
"Hmm, you are right. Must be my imagination."
With my help, we arranged a simple breakfast that she just made, for the two of us. What kind of orphanage is that? This orphanage was made for war victims within the Clan. And the last Great War was 20 years ago; therefore, Mikoto should be the last underage kid that needs support. If war broke out, then this place surely would fill with war orphans, well, Uchiha orphans.
However, my real concern is not about the bathroom capacity. Considering the timeline I lived—
"Ah, Kaworu-kun. Please open the door for me."
Here we go again. I was in the middle of an important monologue, for god's sake.
When I slid the door, a guy with a serious face looked at me.
"Kaworu. It's been a while since the last time we met." I nodded, "Yes, Fugaku-san. And by the way, Mikoto is here."
"U-uh… that's not why I'm here." He couldn't hide that startled face, so why not just kiss her already.
"Ah, Fugaku-sama. Why did you come here this early?" Mikoto said with an apron.
"Haha! Sorry for disturbing you, but I'm actually here for Kaworu. But to think I would see you wearing an apron. Did you make that?" Hearing this, Mikoto blushed and started to hold her apron tight.
"It was just a hobby, so it's nothing serious."
As someone who can read the room, I said, "Should I go?"
"No! S-stay, please!" And there you go. To think I would become the cupid of these two. With breakfast Mikoto just made, we all sat on the tatami mat, a table full of dishes.
"So, why are you looking for Kaworu-kun, Fugaku-sama?" Mikoto didn't beat around the bush if it's about me.
Well, we both already feel like siblings, and she's really a good older sister. I mean, she's serious. My experience tells me that she will beat the shit out of guys that want to approach her by using me. The result was the famous saying that the worst thing she can say is no.
"Kaworu has reached the age to enter the Academy. Of course, the Clan will support any child that would bear Sharingan, regardless of who they are."
Mikoto's worry was visible on her face. "I see… but he never got any special training like others. Well, that's also my fault, so how about next year-"
"It's fine. I would like to enter the Academy this year." Mikoto glanced at me, meanwhile Fugaku smiled at me.
"Just let him decide, Mikoto. Even though he's not yet trained, he's still an Uchiha." Ah, he said the thing.
...
(3rd POV)
When Mikoto went on a mission, Fugaku kept his promise to train Kaworu in person. That morning, they went to a lake not far from where most Uchiha would spend time training.
"Are you going to teach me a jutsu?" Kaworu asked as they walked together.
"That would be interesting. But I'll teach you the basics first."
"Eh… but I don't get why I need the future clan head to teach me personally. Wouldn't that be unfair to others?"
"How thoughtful. Well, I've already treated you like my own little brother, so you don't need to worry."
"I see. I mean, you both will marry each other, so I guess you're right."
"W-what? Anyway, I'll show you Uchiha's ninjutsu first."
Fugaku didn't have any expectations for Kaworu. After all, he understood that Mikoto was too kind and a busy Jounin. It was fortunate for him that he had just finished his long mission, so he had the time to mentor the young Uchiha.
'Also, I heard Hatake Sakumo's son will attend too. It'll hurt if Kaworu doesn't know the basics to keep up with a genius.'
As they arrived at the wooden dock on the lake, Kaworu watched Fugaku walk close to the edge and start weaving hand signs. Suddenly, fire erupted from his mouth, creating a heat wave and a giant fireball above the lake. As he finished, he looked back with pride.
"That was the clan's signature jutsu, Fire Style: Great Fireball."
Fugaku paused to see Kaworu's reaction, yet he didn't budge or react like most kids his age. He wondered why. "As you know, the Uchiha Clan is famous for its Fire element. What I just demonstrated is C-rank ninjutsu; therefore, it's not the time yet to learn-"
As he spoke, Kaworu did the same hand signs and produced the same size- no, a bigger fireball than him. With wide eyes, Fugaku watched the signature fireball shining on his face.
"Did Mikoto teach you that before?"
"She didn't, although it was my first time attempting the jutsu. I've trained all by myself, so I figured I would be fine to enter the Academy. Can you teach me Shurikenjutsu?"
The tip of Fugaku's mouth rose. After that, he taught Kaworu all Uchiha ninjutsu. Watching him train made Fugaku forget the idea of spending time with Mikoto in his spare time.
...
"So how is the boy? Is he good enough for the Academy's entrance exam?"
In the evening, at a Yakiniku restaurant, Fugaku, Mikoto, and their former classmate from the Academy had dinner together. Even so, Mikoto couldn't hold her curiosity about Kaworu's training with Fugaku.
"Eh? Who are you talking about, Mikoto-san?" Mikoto glanced at the guy beside Fugaku and waved her hands in panic.
"He is my little brother."
"WHAT?! You have a little brother? How could you hide him all this time, you know."
A teenage girl with long red hair grabbed Mikoto in surprise.
"Ku-Kushina, please calm down. So, Fugaku has been teaching him for a week, so I want to know if he has potential."
"I see! If he's Mikoto-san's little brother, then I'm not even surprised if he's talented." A blonde-haired guy glanced at Fugaku, who had been silent.
"Kaworu is not just a potential shinobi. He's extremely talented, and he already mastered all the Fire jutsu I taught him. And the other aspects won't make him less talented- no, I think he is as talented as Hatake Sakumo's son."
The three of them couldn't help but gasp a little. "If you say that, he won't stay at the Academy too long. He and Hatake Kakashi, huh…" "That's right, Minato. I didn't want to make this up, but he reminds me of you at the Academy."
Fugaku looked at Mikoto and confirmed that she wasn't expecting Kaworu to be so talented, which confirmed that he never received any tutoring from her.
"That makes me want to see him, Fugaku-san. I'm sure this generation has talented young shinobi. What do you think, Kushi-"
"DAMN! He has the face that will become a lady killer, dattebane! No wonder you hid him from the outside world, kehehe. Next time, bring him to my place so I can feed him."
"I know, Kushina. And this picture was taken when he was…"
This was supposed to be a double date, and yet both Minato and Fugaku felt left out of the conversation.
